Your symptoms don't sound like the typical 'slowdown' issues. It shouldn't freeze that much, and battery should not drain abnormally.
I would try the following:
- Back up your phone if you don't already have a backup.
- Erase All Content and Settings. Note that this will erase everything; you should still have a backup if you did the above.
- Test the phone by itself, with nothing synched back in. It should run fairly smoothly, and should not have battery drain.
- if there are issues, try to restore it using iTunes, using the latest 7.0.x version. Don't sync your backup in, just a fresh software version.
- Repeat the testing of the phone by itself. If it's still not right, you might have to bring it in.
If it is working OK, then sync your backup back in.

Perform a "hard reset" on the device by pressing down and holding the home button and the sleep/wake button for up to 30secs. until you see a black screen with the Apple logo, then release.

I just thought i'd post my experience on my iphone 4s...
First of all the phone is approx 18 months old.
The phone was perfect until I updated to the popular IOS7 update, cough!!!!
Heres what's happening...
iPhone probs since IOS7 update
First of all the phone never missed a beat until ios7 update. Please don't insult me apple and tell me that this is a coincidence.
-Batt perc poor accuracy readings, sticks on amount for long period until reset, thereafter reads incorrect again. Last week was reading 93% but was actually flat.
-Batt can read low, phone freezes, reboots on its own & batt will then read at a higher perc.
-Phone freezing and rebooting on its own intermittently, either has to be physically switched on (from black screen) or white apple appears & it switches itself on.
-Select msgs or email - white screen appears only.
-Have to reset phone on numerous occasions due to lack of or no response.
-After reset all messages, emails, notifications etc come in all at once
-Will get bulk messages, even from same people.
-Will not open messages or email at times, poss due to signal loss while phone shows still signal bars (States switch in wifi or network)
-Loss wifi all the time, doesn't work at all now. (oddly it worked again in the apple store which left me really baffled?)
-Search for email now poor
-App Store search poor, loading poor
-Alarm clock not working at times
-Switching off on its own
-No response from screen at times and accassional delays when it does work
-Battery drain excessive, even when not being used! I have switched any hidded consumers off
-Very jaggy/not smooth in operation at times
-Opening app, settings etc take too long. An app might 'blink' i.e. Flash off then back on.
-Wifi on at access screen but switched off in settings and therefore can not select on option
There could be a battery issue here but only since ios7 update has this all came into play. I used to really like the phone and enjoyed using it.
I was at the apple store yesterday and the guy showed me that my battery was borderline 79 -80% condition (orange).
He mentioned that there also may be software issues so I am now going to carry out a full retore from new,and post back during the week.
If a company from any technical background that deals with software, and hardware, and the the system or particular part of the network/system/hardware lays down, then you must stand by it.
I am due an update apple if you're listening, but if a battery is going to last only a year and a half or less then I very well may take my chances with another manufacturer. I just can't be bothered with hassle and the thought in my mind waiting on the phone battery failing at some time.
I understand the technology behind it all but maybe apple need to look at the consumption side of things more than the makng a stronger battery. Maybe consider a secondary system using small second battery or solar, with temperature regulation of some sort. Another approach would be to have a primary system (for calls, texts and maybe limited internet) and a secondary system (for apps etc etc) simply controlled by a type of switch/relay/regulator i.e. if the battery drops below 25% you will not get to use secondary systems keeping your phone usable in terms of making calls, which the mobile phone was intended, remember!!!!
I called my phone network company and they said they would cover the bill for a new battery as the guy in apple store suggested would fix the powering issues.
P.S. I emailed apple about this last week, got an auto response stating we'll get back to you in 24 hours, and guess what, they didn't.

This morning when I tried to recharge the battery it would not recharge. I followed brad805's suggestions. When I took it to the Genius Bar they attempted to remove the battery and directly power the phone from a cable and that did not work. The phone is now completely dead and because it is past the one year warranty period, there is little that the people at the Apple Store can do to help me. I took very good care of the phone when I owned it and there were no incidents to the phone in the time since I upgraded to iOS7. I strongly believe that the upgrade to iOS7 is the contributing factor to this phone failure.
Is there a mechanism to register a complaint with Apple? I understand that phones fail from time to time but based on the posts I am seeing on the internet, I fear that there are additional instances like mine.

IPhone 4S Won't Charge After iOS7 Update

After installing ios7 update my phone fails to charge properly.
When on: plug in charger : 'this device may not be supported' --- my option? 'dismiss'
on every plug in this message appears.
When off: battery icon appears when charger is plugged in, after 3 seconds fades to black, on pressing home button it shows battery icon again.
I've tried all solutions provided to me by phone technical support, no help.
My phone currently charges to 3-5% when left off, comes back to life when turned on, but doesn't hold charge for more than 5 min and dies.
When plugged into mac/itunes everything works exept charging.
I've tried other cables/chargers, nothing
Also no longer supports my fm car transmiter that I purchased 'this device may not be supported' --- my option? 'dismiss'
The reason for buing an iphone was to have my music on the go and be able to play it/record my creative ideas: now it has become a paper weight and source of frustration.
I will be taking it in to an apple dealer today to check if its a hardware issue, but there have been no hardware problems or any damage before or after ios7 instal.

My iPhone 4 won't charge after iOS7 update

Dear all,
I gave my perfectly functioning iPhone 4 to my girlfriend with iOS 6.1.3 installed. After upgrade to iOS 7 we encountered a lot of problem with the battery charging. I will try to describe them (please keep in mind that I have already tried different cables/rechargers/connecting it to different computers etc etc...)
1) When the iPhone is on it just wont recharge.
2) When there is battery left, I switch the iPhone off and I plug it the recharger, it just wont recharge.
3) When the battery is completely drained and the phone is off I can recharge the phone a little bit! just untill the Iphone switches on automatically, than the recharging stops.
Because the recharging can take place in some "exotic" circumstances I believe that everything with the hardware is working. I suspect the upgrade wo iOS 7 is the main suspect.
Any thoughts/suggestion is welcome.

I went to the Apple store today and informed them of my issue with the iOS7 on my 4S. They diagnose the problem as a hardware issue not a software issue (The charging dock/area inside the phone where the charger connects was busted). So apparently to them, my phone was already "going to break" and it had no relations to iOS7. They also told me that it sometimes just happens - hardware malfunctions/problems. Since my phone wasn't under warranty (1 year 3 months, slightly over) my phone cannot be replaced & they told me I have to purchase a replacement b/c unfortunately that part - battery dock thing - cannot be replaced on the 4S but apparently can be on the 5. Also I overheard that the wifi issue where its greyed out is also a hardware issue and the phone needs to be replaced. This all sounds bogus to me. Too much of a coincidence in my opinion, but sadly enough my warranty is over and now I'm just ****** that I have to replace my phone. (Iphone 4S replace -200 dollars, 90 day warranty OR purchase the iPhone 5C/5S instead) Learned my lesson, buy the Apple+ for stupid situations like this. I'm still ****** at the fact that my phone literally died after the iOS7 update, great timing. Never updating again.

My iPhone 4S won't charge after iOS7 update

I updated to iOS7 yesterday and everything seemed alright until 1 day later. My battery went from 70% something straight to 1% out of nowhere. I left it charging on my wall charger and came back 1-2 hours later and it was still at 1%! I knew something was wrong then so I tried to turn off everything possible - i.e apps, brightness. Unfortunately, that didn't work either. I tried turning it on and off which did nothing. My phone was stuck on the "red battery" big icon. Once my iPhone connected again, I tried to restore my iPhone and now it's stuck on the charging phase - but the % doesn't go up and my computer doesn't detect my phone at all. I don't think it's charging. HELP! I have it "charging" (usb connected to comp) So far I don't see any changes. All I see is my dying phone. Come on apple, this is riduculous. Help, if anyone has the same problem and found a solution!

Bluetooth Problems after IOS7 Update (on screen album art gone)

Before updateing my Iphone with IOS7 my bluetooth connection in my 2013 Toyota Tacoma was flawless. Now after the update i am having problems and would like to see if someone has any suggestions for me to clear this up.
Before the update i would get my album art or general art from where i was or what i was listening to on my head unit in my truck. ie: if i was listening to a song... the album it was on would appear on my screen... or if i was listneing to sirius via my phone and bluetooth... i would get the sirius logo or channel logo on the screen just to the left of the song or channel details.
now after the update all i am getting in the small box is the blue tooth logo... that is it... what happened?
i have tried the unpairing and the repairing... but nothing workes... can anyone help me?

I finally had to restore iOS 8 on my iPhone, and then I restored from my backup. Everything is fixed now. All music synced without issue, and iTunes even seemed more stable while syncing. I guess iOS 8 didn't install correctly the first time.
My iPhone seems to be running better now too.
I'd recommend reinstalling iOS 8, if you're having trouble. It fixed all of my problems, hopefully it can fix yours too.

Many problems after last update

Ok, I will tell my actions step by step, because this update and my Arch now = big mess.
I started the update (yaourt -Syu) in the end of January. Because my internet connection is not always working properly, I have to repeat this many times to start the actual update (after downloading ALL the packages). This time, I couldn' t download all the packages and then I went on my winter break. After I returned home, I continued update (1/2 Feb). Firstly I' ve done yaourt -Su to end this old update and then yaourt -Syu to download rest of the packages. And then I restarted my Arch...
What happened first was, that Entrance (I use e17 as my graphical environment) was not working. Using LiveCD (the consoles are not working - agetty is broken, but it had been broken long before this update) I changed it to GDM. Also not working. Then I switched to KDM from KDEmod. It worked. I couldn' t start E and in LXDE panel was broken. I started KDEmod and everything from Qt worked fine. But all GTK was broken, and I couldn' t start any NetworkManager client. And not only. I discovered, that many of programs need older version of libpng (libpng12.so.0) and some of them also libjpeg (libjpeg.so.7). I borrowed these files from my friend, who also have Arch, but hardly ever updates it and copied to /usr/lib. The programs started working. But soon, all KDE and stuff broke. I discovered, that newer versions of libraries are not detected. I switched to GDM. Now I am running GNOME. Qt(mod) is not working since it needs newer versions of libraries. And for more, none of my network interfaces is working. I tried to connect to wireless network and by cable and nothing of it worked (with NetworkManager). I can' t even connect with my loopback interface to eg. CUPS (I can' t print) or MPD (I can' t connect to server by MPD client)!!!
And now I need your help...
What I want:
1. WORKING NETWORK!
2. Programs - how to make them use newer versions of libpng and libjpeg.
3. Entrance - all I know is "Id "x" respawning too fast. Disabled for 5 minutes"
4. Enlightenment - it' s not working anymore! How to get it to work?
If someone knows, I would need also help with consoles. I installed fbgetty (agetty is not in repo anymore) - how to configure it to make the consoles? Or how to get agetty to work? ("Id "c<number from 1 to 6>" respawning too fast. Disabled for 5 minutes" - all I know about consoles not working). I have changed them from /dev/vc/<number> to /dev/tty<number>. but it wasn' t working. And it isn' t now.

EDIT2: ok, I tried arche17 script and e works now quite fine (not including strange fonts in menu and modules, desktop problems like disability to move icons and double launch of programs after clicking a shortcut).
So, finally, after long time since update, my system is working more or less like before it (When I say system, I don' t mean Arch itself, but Arch with my favourite WM and my settings). I won' t update it for a longer time now, because I want it to work

No offence, but as with quite a few others, my Iphone stopped charging on mains after iOS 7.0.4 update too.
Not sure you can categorically advise that "it simply is not a software issue" when so many different people are having the same symptoms after updating their iOS Just have a quick Google!
Luckily my (original Apple) cable will still allow recharging via USB to a laptop. So, process of elimination would point to a bricked charger that was working faultlessly up until the iOS 7.0.4 update was applied. Seems quite a stretch to be a coincidence.
Look forward to an explanation ..... and an update? ......

So many problems after E71 update

hey i hav updated my e71 wid latest firmware recently bt after updating my phone i m facing so many problems
1. wenever i open camera n take a pic some text comes ( i dont know wats mean by dat text bcoz its in sm other language )
2. my msgs r gettng sent so lately
3. wifi is not working properly means i coudnt connect to internet via wifi .. though it search 4 wifi device bt doesnt let me connect to internet!
please suggest me sm remedies hw to overcome these problems

You could try reinstalling the firmware update and I would also strongly recommend resetting your phone immediately after an update.

Problem after iOS7 update

Since I updated my iphone to iOS7, my iphone does this thing a lot of times were the music player, when i am in the lock screen, does not want to work, it does not do anything, can't skip a song, can't pause it, and i have to restart the phone every time it does that. Even if I unlock the phone and try to use the new tab that apple added at the bottom of the phone where you have a music player and can enable wifi and all that, the music player still won't do anything. I do not know if is my phone or is the iOS7, I hope I am not the only one. Or if I am, then I would have to change my iphone, I am still under the warranty. This problem is becoming more annoying because it is doing it more oftern.

IPad3 Wifi problems after iOS7 update

I have updated my iPad 3, 32 GB WiFi only model to iOS7 and since the update everything works except for the WiFi. It shows itself connected to my network all the time but no app can access the internet. It is really frustrating considering a device that worked so well has now basically become unusable. It reminds of the time when iOS6 came out and the WiFi pretty much stopped working as well. Has anyone found a way out?

However, still the problem could not be solved, as I tried to extend my existing network (I already bought anouter router to temporary replace the TC) and it won't do it (though I could set up a new network with the TC, which again my iphone could not access, or I could make the TC to join into the existing network as a network HD which is unaccessable from the desktop). I use PC and I shall try the PC utility to do your recommend setting tonight ie:

If not the TC cannot extend it..
No Apple router can extend wireless from a different brand router.
Sorry I think I leaped to conclusions and didn't see your initial request properly.. Apple are unique.. they do not work together with other wireless.
That is why you need to have an ethernet connection from the main router to the TC and run the TC in bridge.. you can then setup roaming network if you wish or a totally different wireless network.
Apple instructions for roaming apply to mix with other brands.

I regret that there are problems with your iPhone 4 since iOS 7. I'm sure you may have already tried to power it off/on, but I also want you to check some additional settings. What happens when you try to dial *228? Do you get an error message/recording?
Ensure airplane mode is disabled and then go to
Settings>Cellualar>Roaming>Voice and Data Roaming> Enable.
Please let me know how these steps work out for you.

App downloads problems after ios7 update

Hi! I downloaded ios7 on to my iphone4s since the download i can connect to the app store but wont let me download. If i go back in there it tells me the App store isnt available. I tried connecting via itunes and it syncs the app i want to download but when i go on my phone after the sync has completed the app says loading and doesnt install. Please help

Iphone 5 will not activate after iOS7 update.

Ive tried over the air and through iTunes, no luck either way. Says the servers cannot be contacted.
Is there a number I can call to activate this another way?

Apple's activation servers are probably very busy. Calling AppleCare will not really help as the servers are what allow that to happen. You may want to wait for a little while before trying again.
