My iPhone 4s is not making any noise except for when someone calls me, an alarm going off, or unlocking it.

I have no sound except for my ringtone, alarm, and sometimes the unlocking noise. No text alerts, email alerts, media noise, Pandora noise, iTunes noise, anything. First on my own I restored it to factory settings, cleaned the dock and head jack, did the head phone trick in and out, and I have checked for water damage. I have searched the threads and Google for solutions but none have worked. I talked to Apple today and they made me restore it again and it still doesn't work.
^Usually theres a volume bar on videos, none here.
^Theres no thing to slide the sound back and forth here.
^Also no sound bar here.

Also I should mention that Apple said it is a hardware issue, but a software issue.

From one day to another the iPad is not making any sounds (lock, keyboard, games) except for music on iTunes, Pandora and video on Netflix. All sounds are activated on the iPad's general settings. I have synced it and updated the OS to no avail. Any help or suggestions is gratly appreciated.

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

Install a free app. Click App Store app, find any free app you might like, install the app. If still problems, try a Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone restarts.

Check the Mute switch, which is on the left side of the phone above the volume buttons.

1. Try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
2. If that doesn't solve it, use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Using this article will erase everything on the device, so make sure you have a backup!
If you get specific error messages/codes in iTunes when updating/restoring, check this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694 for causes and solutions

My iphone 5 just stopped working? Screen turned off and it won't turn back on. Tried charging it but it still doesn't work. Not making any noises or anything. Please help?

screen is off and black. Won't turn on. trief charging but still won't work. its like it's dead but it was fully charged when it just turned off.

Try a reboot press & hold down power button & menu button hold both down and wait for
the Apple Logo this may take upto 20 seconds then see if iPhones comes on
if not take to Apple store.

It seems what you did also effected your typing skills: missing letters, words not capitalized, no punctuation.
Did you check your Sounds settings?

Can download, and install, but will not load any page except for mozilla.

When i download and run the install, all seems to go well until firefox loads. The only page that loads is the Mozilla page. When i try to go to any other site, it has a problem loading page error. This would be on a Windows 7 system.

You may try to disable IPv6.
To disable IPv6, change the preference network.dns.disableIPv6 from "false" to true . Here are the steps:
1. Type about:config in the address bar, press Enter.
2. Find network.dns.disableIPv6 in the list.
3. Right-click -> Toggle.
4. Restart your Mozilla application and try again.
If this doesn't work, you can re-enable IPv6 by resetting the preference to "false" (double-click to toggle).

IPhone 4 not making any sound.

I just bought a new iPhone 4. All of a sudden today it has stopped making any noise. Nothing for a call, new text, song from the iPod, nothing!! I've checked all the settings under sounds (I can't even hear the previews from all the sounds). I've even restarted the phone. Any ideas on what's going on? Its brand new and I'm already having issues.

Is it still connected to the Bluetooth in your car (been there, done that)?
Put the phone in handsfree speaker mode when on a call and let us know if you hear any sounds then.

iPad is not making any sound when typing, watching video from YouTube and video from cameroll. I don't even hear when I receive notification. My mom and dad has the same problem on their iPhone 4s. My mom when to apple store to replace for a new phone but do I have to go to the apple store to replace it too? I also tried a restore but it did not work. Please answer!

DISCONNECT BLUETOOTH.
After doing all the ridiculous resetting and changing/checking the settings by the advice given on these forums and on YouTube, I finally discovered that if you have your apple device connected to any other device by bluetooth you will not get any audio but by the device it's connected to. How un-awesome is that? Ive always been used to how my android devices work with Bluetooth which is when the system you're connected to is off or in a different mode, you still have audio. That makes perfect sense and is convenient, right? But I thought my brand new ipad was busted when I connected to my entertainment system by Bluetooth and haven't been getting any audio the last few weeks. So basically I need to go into settings every stinking time if I want to hear my game or show my wife a YouTube video. Regretting ever got this overpriced tablet...

Make sure that your date and time settings and time zone are accurate (Settings - General - Date and Time). Reset your phone to 'Set Automatically' and then try signing in again - this worked for me. My date/time settings were not automatic (candy crush cheats!!).

If you've downloaded them directly on that device, or synced them to it from your computer's iTunes (you can't redownload ringtones), then you should be able to assign them to an event via Settings > Sounds or to a contact in the Contacts app (tap the Edit button on the contact that you want to set the tone for).

When you say it "can not scan any wifi network" do you mean it is not detecting Wi-Fi networks?
Is Wi-Fi turned on in Settings > General > Wi-Fi?
Have you tried Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings?
Is it just the home network that the device will not connect to? or any network?
