My iphone 4s is unresponsive but still rings and vibrates how can i get my data off it?
I dropped my iphone and the screen went blank, i need to get all of my information off it to be able to send it off for repair, but i cannot find out how to do it without unlocking the screen, which i cant do because the screen is blank and the touch is not responding. however the volume still works eg. it rings and alarms go off but can not for the life of me get the pictures off help please!
Hi If you get a new iphone use the same Apple ID & password then you will get all your Data back iPhone 4s is an old iPhone now & its, not worth spending a lot of money On it. Cheers Brian

Try cleaning the lens and see if that will restore functionality to the DVD drive. Use a DVD lens cleaning disk, if you have a can of compressed air, shoot some into the slot or wrap a fine microfiber cloth (eyeglasses cleaning cloth) around a business card and insert it gently inside the slot.
If no success, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and get a free diagnosis from them.

I was updating my software on my iphone 4 and it crashed so it recovered it and i restored it from its back up. However I have lost all my music and my apps but not my pictures. How can i get my music back. I did not remove my phone from the computer until it had said it had finsihed.
Media and apps are not part of the backup. They need to be re-synced from your itunes library or re-downloaded from the store.

I installed google chrome and added it to my applications folder and it works but my desktop still has the icon of the chrome volume/disk and when i right click it gives an option to eject but it will not delete how can I get rid of it?
Drag it to the trash icon in your dock. This is a disk image, and you need to "eject" it, to get rid of it.

I have a G4 Quicksilver 2001 that no longer works, but the hd may still be good. How can I get files off the G4 hd and onto my new late 2013 iMac?

First, the G4 must be able to start to use FWTDM. If it can start, hold the t key at boot until you get a "screensaver pattern" that looks like this:
If the G4 is attached via a FireWire cable to a newer Mac with a FireWire port, the G4's hard drive will appear on the other Mac's desktop just as if it were any external drive. A USB cable won't work for FWTDM.
Just wondering if the drive in my G4, which I believe may be an ATA drive will also work in an enclosure for a SATA drive?
No. ATA (actually "PATA" or "IDE") and SATA are different interfaces. PATA external enclosures are now very hard to find. You best and least expensive option is the adaptor that BDAqua linked. One of its connectors is for PATA drives. -

iOS devices do backup automatically to iCloud providing:
iCloud Backup is turned on
It has a Wi-Fi connection
It is connected to a power source
The screen is off
5GB is plenty of storage for me to backup to iCloud automatically.
I have a 64GB iPhone & a 128GB iPad both backing up to the same iCloud account and I still have nearly 2GB free.
This is mainly because media is not backed up and Photo Stream & iTunes purchases do not count against your iCloud storage.
Here’s what iCloud backs up:
Purchase history for music, movies, TV shows, apps, and booksYour iCloud backup includes information about the content you have purchased, but not the purchased content itself. When you restore from an iCloud backup, your purchased content is automatically downloaded from the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store. I have an Ipod Touch 2 and rebuilt my laptop. Reinstalled ITUNES and can't find my applications on ITunes after login. I tried to activate Itunes again but it didn't. How can I get my applications to display on ITUNEs?
It sounds like you essentially have a new computer and unless you restored from a backup your iTunes library would be empty. You can transfer your iTunes purchases from your iPod to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
SInce you changed syncing computers. after you move the stuff you need to restore the iPod to factory defaults and sync the stuff back to your iPod. If you had the iPod backup file you could restore from backup.

1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

If you don't have the movie on the old computer and you don't have the movie backed up on a disc somewhere, your only choice is to purchase the movie again. Currently, movie downloads are a one time deal andit is your responsibility to have a backup copy.
If you have the movie on the other computer still, you can burn it to a DVD and then copy it over to the new computer.
Personally, I have two computers and when I make a purchase on one, iTunes automatically copies it to the other and I have never lost videos or music in this manner. -
After I reset my Ipod (deleted all data and settings) windows 7 doesn't recognize by ipod touch, and it doesn't appear in the itunes library or in the device menu, but it does charge. How can I get my computer to recognize it again?
