My iPhone 4S keeps deleting random Notes!

Several times in the last year when I have gone into the native Notes app, several notes have simply disappeared – definitely without my doing anything to cause it. As it happens, they have typically been some of the notes I really didn't want to lose.
What is the explanation for this? There doesn't seem to be any easy way to get these notes back. But more to the point, I want to prevent their loss in the first place. I looked into third-party software and found that a program to restore lost files costs $99!
Why is there no easy way to export the text from iPhone Notes for safekeeping, say, on a flash drive?
We can't even see the notes that are on the phone when it is connected to a PC (like we can with music etc.).
I tried to RESTORE BACKUP, and that didn't work because I get the message: "iTunes could not restore the iPhone X because not enough free space is available on the iPhone. Well isn't that just great? And HOW MUCH SPACE is needed?! I have 600+mb free right now (64gb phone), but I tried this before with anoint 2gb free and it didn't work then, either. What's up with that?!

This problem is considered to be a glitch in the software. YOur best option, if you still need advice or if it ever happens again, is to plug the iPhone into your computer, sync it with iTunes, and then restore the device. Hopefully you can save all the correct contacts that are left. Then, redownload all of your information to your iPhone and the problem shouldnt transpire again!

I guess he/she open Notes in Gmail settings. This archives (one way sync) notes in gmail account under notes label that is invisible if you are using the standard gmail setup on your iPhone. You can see it on desktop browser, Safari or gmail app in iDevice. Am I wrong?

- Reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...

Also consider Deleting any Apps you have Purchased / Downloaded but you now never use.

Make sure you have the Latest Version of iTunes (v11) Installed on your computer

2) Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and Restore

Go to Settings>Store and sign out and then sign back in.

Does "have reset" mean that you restored the phone to factory settings? If not, you might want to give that a try. You will want to backup first so that you can restore your data from the backup after you restore the iOS software.
This will erase the phone and also download and install the most recent iOS version available for your device.

In Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6), notes can be found in Mail.app. Apple didn't stick with this scheme and later removed Notes to its own app. Mystery solved.
Take a look in Mail and see what you find. I'm still not sure how best to troubleshoot this, but report what you find.
I suspect the main problem is that you are running the most recent iPhone operating system on an old iPhone and trying to sync data on an even older Mac operating system. In addition, you are not using Apple's method of moving data around (iCloud).
I'm sorry to say that I'm not surprised there are problems. It *should* work, as Apple still supports (if minimally) all of your stuff. But you're pushing the limits.
If Notes continues to be a problem, you could try a third-party system for notes. Simplenote is a good place to start (simplenoteapp.com). There is an iPhone app and you might be able to run the web application (the Mac app is only for )S 10.8 and above).

IPhone 4S deletes random notes

About a month ago my phone randomly deleted a recipe I had put in my notes. iCloud added it to my iPad so I recovered it and stored it in my email. But when I put it back on my iphone, within a few days it deleted itself again. I haven't put it back on since then. Two days ago I had about 4-5 new notes, one was another recipe and like two grocery lists. Today I look at my notes and my new notes are gone! So! What did I do? Why I went to my iPad of course, but the moment I go to it, for a split second I have my notes, then it updates and removes the deleted notes. What is going on?? I haven't deleted anything myself! Any insight would be great. I haven't hooked my phone to iTunes in quite a while so I imagine these are not attainable again? These notes weren't too important but I fear the day it will delete something I really need!
By the way, I apologize if this has been an issue in the past that I have overlooked in searching.

I have this same problem. While I haven't figured out a way to prevent the notes from being deleted yet, I did find a way to recover them. Do you have your iPhone connected to your laptop through iCloud or anything? I know you said you don't have it hooked up to iTunes, but that's not the only way. My phone wirelessly backs up to my email, so it sends my notes as emails to my address. When they get deleted, I just go online and email them back to myself so I can copy and paste them back into Notes. Huge pain in the rear, but at least I have my notes back :/ This seems to be a common issue, so hopefully someone can find a fix soon!

I've had my phone for about 4 months now, and twice within this short time my phone has randomly been fine and then I'll text someone and the next thing I know all my contacts are gone as well as everything put into my calendar. What can I do? I have stuff backed up on iCloud, and I noticed the first time this happened my contact photos eventually came back within a week, but I still had to program all my contacts again so I'd have them. Nope, and this isn't the first problem I've been having with this phone. For months now I've been unable to use itunes on my computer to sync with my phone because it keeps coming up as not being able to read it and asking me to reset my phone to factory.

after putting off updating my iphone for months i finally desided to do it. I had an app called notes, published by a company called Mendero AB, and when iv'e gone to dowload the app again it isn't even in the app store. I've looked online found it tryed to download it and it says cant dowload here transfer to another itunes (swedish itunes) then when that pops up it isnt der either. It's not the app I'm bothered about it's the notes i've wrote down I presumed they would still be there if I re-dowloaded it because the update deleted gta3 from my iphone when i re-dowloaded it my game save was still there.can anyone help me pleeeaase

Have you backed up your device to your computer?
If so, you can find a copy of every app in User/Library/Music/iTunesMedia/Mobile Applications.
Check to see if your app is still in there. It's very possible iTunes removed it on its own, in which you would be SOL. You can sideload apps into iTunes but that requires a copy of the app from elsewhere.

My iphone 4s keeps saying "Could not activate cellular data network"

I have tried resetting the network and calling the *228 and it still isn't working. I have not seen any recent posts where this was resolved.

I have had 4 iPhone 4S 3G on Verizon. I have never been able to activate by dialing *228. I could not activate via iCloud or iTunes, either. I went to the apple store. They had to do it. I could not set up a Yahoo email account yesterday on the latest device swapped. The Apple Store rep had to look up a workaround online. It's a CLOWN SHOW!
