My iphone 4s keeps on rejecting my MacBook Air

I recently bought a MacBook Air (Late 2014). And I have been having trouble with connecting my iDevice with 30 pin connector port to my MacBook. My USB ports work fine and so does the cable. My thunderbolt cable even worked with my MacBook Air. I talk to customer service yesterday and they said the phone was rejecting the device and that I had to go on a phone call with engineers but I couldn't get a phone call and didn't think that was the problem since it didn't work with any iDevice using 30 pin connector. If you have any ideas why this is caused, please help me. I'll put relevant info below:
Both iPhone 4s and MacBook Air's software is up to date.
I tried disabling the firewall both on antivirus software and OS X itself
I reset location&privacy setting on my iPhone, but that didn't fix the issue.
When I say the iPhone rejects the MacBook, the phone constantly jumps between state of charging and not charging in half of a second

If nothing helped, repair permissions.
Disconnect the iPhone.
On your Mac open Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Then select: Repair Disk Permissions
This process can take a few minutes.
When it's done, restart your Mac and connect the iPhone.
If that doesn't help, reset the PRAM > About NVRAM and PRAM

I am having the same problem. When I save a document in word, particularly with track changes and comments, it freezes and crashes. I fould this forum as I was reading help posted in a previous forum and the "helping" comments were saying this must be a problem on the user end - but that can't be right as so many people are posting this problem. Its clearly an incompatibility between the software from two competing companies. Figure it out Apple!

I've been all over the web trying to find a solution to this problem. Hopefully someone clever can help!
I have an iPhone 4 and want to use it as a modem with my Macbook Air 11". I have also subscribed to an iPhone data bolt-on plan with Vodafone UK (£15 per month for 3GB of data).
When I attempt to connect the Macbook Air using Bluetooth to the iPhone the Bluetooth pairing on the Macbook Air appears to complete after you enter the codes on both devices, but whilst the Macbook Air appears in the iPhone Bluetooth menu, it isn't paired and says that the Macbook Air 'isn't supported'.
Please help!

My emails keep disappearing from my MacBook Air, my iPhone

My emails keep disappearing from all devices--MacBook Air, iPhone, iPad as well as our archair Sony VAIO w/Windows XP. We use Comcast, a "POP" account. All settings have been changed to never delete, empty trash after 90 days, etc., per Apple, AT&T and Comcast "techs". To where are they going? Can they be retrieved? Why does this keep happening? How can we prevent this from happening?

Is there a category for the dissappearing emails? Do they have anything in common? Have you tried refreshing the inbox?
Another possiblity is that since Macs and iPhones categorize mail a little differently, try going the the "all mail" section. You can find it under your account mail. That is, instead of going to your inbox, you go under there, where is says "accounts" and shows all your accounts, including the icons for each mail service. There should be a group saying "all mail" if you use google. Let me know if you find the disappearing mails.

I previously used a PC which I used to put music on my iphone from itunes however I now have a macbook air and I don't know how to change my iphone so that it now recognises my new computer as the right one. An iPhone 5 requires iTunes 10.7 (minimum) which in turn requires OSX 10.6.8 (minimum) which in turn requires an Intel Mac (which you have).
1) Make sure your computer meets Snow Leopard technical specifications - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575 This mostly means making sure it is an Intel Mac and has at least 1GB RAM (at least 2 GB is recommended). Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window to "About This Mac". To check RAM continue to "More Info...". It should say you have at least 1GB of "memory".
2) Buy a Snow Leopard disc from Apple online

Photos in albums that were copied to the device by syncing with your computer running iTunes are deleted by syncing again. But before clicking on Apply or Sync deselect the no long wanted albums in iTunes. Finally click on Apply.

IPhone 3G lost while syncing with MacBook Air.

While syncing the iPhone and the Mac, the connection between the two devices breaks. Sometimes, I manage to sync completely the 2 machines, sometimes the syncing crashes. After many trials, I came to the conclusion that when the battery of the iPhone is not fully loaded, the Sync works. When it's full the connection breaks and error messages appear in iTunes.

This issue make the update of the iPhone software impossible using my Mac. The upgrade crashed and I was give the following Apple support page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275. I tried all the procedures indicated and the only solution was to use a Windows Vista PC !
Any idea how I can solve this issue ?

I JUST GOT MINE TO START RESTORING, I WAS RUNNING 3.01 OR W.E AND AS I TRIED TO BACKUP THE PHONE IT SAID UNABLE TO BACK UP, SO THEN ONCE IT WAS STUCK AT THAT IT TOLD ME I HAD TO RESTORE THE PHONE AND DELETE ALL MY MEDIA =\ ONCE THAT HAPPENED I WAS PRETTY MUCH STUCK THERE WITH THE "ERROR 2002" SO WHAT I DID WAS I MADE A NEW ACCOUNT WITH ADMIN. PRIVE. I LOADED UP ITUNES THE 9.01 OR W.E THE NEW ONE IS, I CONNECTED THE PHONE, IT REDOWNLOADED THE 3.1 SOFTWARE AND I GUESS RIGHT NOW ITS RESTORING THE PHONE AND UPDATING, SO PRETTY MUCH MAKE A NEW USER ACCOUNT AND DO IT FROM THERE!!!

Yes you can. Any headset compatible with the iPhone works just fine for full duplex conversation on a MacBook Air of current design. The microphone and earphones are simultaneously active.

Why does the wifi keep disconnecting on the Macbook Air (Bought September 2013) ?

Is this only my MacBook Air, or is it with everyones. The wifi keeps getting disconnected and i would have to switch off and then switch on the wifi in order to reconnect.

Just to be sure we're on the same page.. You connect the iphone via USB cable to your mac's USB port, then invoke itunes on the mac. In the left panel of itunes, under the "Devices" section, does the iphone not show up after a short while?
What OSX version is on the mac? What version of itunes (should be 11.1 in order to communicate with iOS 7)?
