My iPhone 4s lock button won't work.

I have purchased my iPhone 4s in the 2012s.
My lock button has been working fine till now and all of sudden it wouldn't work
I dont have any applecare and warranty. will i be able to get a new replacement from apple?
My phone screen is cracked also at the back, but my lock button has been working fine.
i am using accessibility and its meh,.
please help!

For the past month, my iPhone 4 lock/sleep button has been really hard to push. I wasn't to worried until just an hour ago it stopped working all together. I try pushing it and it won't click, push down or anything. I've always taken good care of my phone by keeping it in an otter box, not dropping it, and it's never had water damage. I would take it to the apple store, but the nearest store is over 2 hours away... So is there anything I can do do rig it to work? Or even is there an app? well the same home button feature you speak of can sort of be enabled for the lock/power key: Enable Assistive Touch: Tap SETTINGS, General, Accessibility, AssistiveTouch (near the bottom) and tap AssistiveTouch to ON. You will now notice a small dark square with a circle in the middle (you can move this square anywhere). Tap the dark circult to open the assistiveTouch menu, then tap Device and tap and HOLD the lock screen icon. This will bring up the iPhone's Power-Off slider - no need for a power button any longer!

If the sleep wake button on your iPhone is unresponsive, first try and reset all setting by going to Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings.
If this does not resolve the problem, I would sound more like a hardware based issue.
I would recommend that you contact AppleCare so they can run further tests and diagnostics to help you solve your solution better.
If you can also access an Apple Store Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Service Center, that would be much better.

My iPhone 5 lock button has stopped working, it says on the website that certain models can be sent in to be replaced and that my serial number is one of these, but I am out of warranty and will not allow me to contact Apple without payng £25, is anyone else had the same issue as I don't want to pay out money to get something fixed that Apple have recognised to be faulty, and I don't live anywhere near an Apple Store

The £25 charge is a support charge for iPhones out of free support, you should not be charged for requesting support for a recall issue however if you can stretch to get to an Apple Store it is worth it resolving any issues face to face rather than email or phone is just easier.

Yes. Make Genius reservation first, so you do not have a long wait at the Apple Store. From the problem you describe, most likely, the Genius will handle the problem with a perfect Replacement iPhone 5 just like the one you have now.

My lock button on my iPhone 4 doesn't and my Facebook app kickes me off all the time and so does wifi. I got the apple iCare plan and i was wondering if i could either get it fixed or trade it in 4 the new white one it looks so much better.

You should first try the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide:
Restart phone
Reset phone
Restore in iTunes using a backup
Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup
If the last step doesn't help, you have a hardware failure, and you need to make an appt with an Apple Store Genius Bar. If they determine that your problem is covered by the warranty (including AppleCare), you will be given a replacement - probably a referb unit. You don't get to "trade in" for another model (i.e. White)

Until then try Assistive Touch. Settings App > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch > ON > tap new white screen button > Device > Lock Screen. This can even turn iPhone OFF. To turn iPhone ON connect to power, charger or USB of computer.
