My iPhone 4s's wi fi is not available after ios 7.1 update

I updated my iPhone 4s from 7.0.4 to 7.1 and the next morning my wifi had stopped working. It's usually greyed out and is completely unavailable. I tried restarting a couple times. One time it wasnt greyed our and let me connect to my wifi (typed in the password and everything). But as soon as I tried to load anything or refresh anything it just sat there loading until it would say connection not available. It's now greyed out again. Does anyone know if there going to be working on another update that may fix this. Or has this update fried the actual wifi chip inside my phone.

Sorry, chip or a weak solder connection has fried . This has happened rarely after every update since 1.0.1, and with every iPhone model. The update is stressful on the phone when burning the firmware and marginally functioning components may fail. Try the steps described in the support article below, but it's likely that you'll have to replace the phone.
iOS: Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim
Do NOT try the "freezer" or "hairdryer" methods you may see. At best they're a temporary fix and likely to do further damage to the phone.

I would make sure you are using an Apple branded cable with your iPad. If you are, the troubleshooting steps in the article below may help. The steps listed below for the iPhone and iPod still apply to your iPad.
Resolving issues
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.

This is exactly the same issue that happened to me I've contacted Telus my service provider and Apple and spent countless hours on the phone with both they seem to be blaming each other for the problem Apple says it's a network problem while Telus says it's a hardware problem this happened right after I updated to 4.2 myself need help here no support. IPhone 4s No Longer connects to Car Bluetooth after iOS 7.1 Update

My iPhone 4s has been paired to our 2006 Acura TL hands free link (Bluetooth) and working flawlessly for more than a year. After the iOS 7.1 update installed on my iPhone the connection has been lost and the car's Bluetooth does not recognize, and will not pair with my iPhone anymore! I noticed there were two back-to-back updates for iOS7. The first one caused intermittent interruptions and lost connections with the iPhone. The second update completely destroyed the connection between the car bluetooth and the iPhone. Any ideas on how to correct this problem would certainly be appreciated. Thanks!

In my experience, when updates are released for iOS devices, compatible devices release an update to maintain compatibility. Step 2 from the article below recommends checking with the manufacturer of your car stereo to see if there is a firmware update available for your car stereo:

Verify that both your car stereo and your device have the latest software versions. Contact the manufacturer to see if any updates are available. If your device does not have the latest version of the iOS, update to the latest software version.

I also recommend these steps if the issue persists after following all the steps in the previous article:

If a pairing record already exists, the device does not appear as discoverable. Try to connect the device using that pairing record.
If you are unable to connect using the existing pairing record, delete the record and pair again.
Ensure that the firmware or software on the Bluetooth accessory is up to date.
Ensure that the Bluetooth accessory is charged or connected to power.
Verify that the Bluetooth accessory is using a profile that works with the iOS device.
Turn off both the iOS device and the Bluetooth accessory, then turn both devices on again.
If the issue persists, test Bluetooth with another device or consult the manufacturer's documentation.

Touch ID will not work after the recent update, rebooted iphone to no avail. I then deleted all finger prints, but iphone will not recognise new fingerprints ..... Annoyed is not the word ! Any ideas ?

Issue:
After a firmware upgrade (included IMM, HDD and ServerRAID) to my x3650 M5 (Windows 2008 R2 Server) system, the “Ctrl+H” option to enter the WebBIOS Configuration Utility was not available anymore for RAID reconfiguration. The system boots directly into Windows.
Response:
The “Ctrl+H” option is only available in the Legacy mode so your system must have the UEFI mode enabled. There are 2 options,
A – Use the uEFI F1 System Configuration Utility for configuring RAID
B – Enable back Legacy mode by adding "Legacy Only" at boot order on the 1st step.
Also, if you have a working Windows installation you could also install the MegaRAID Storage Manager application to manage your array controller via the OS. It is normal behavior to skip the legacy BIOS menus of adapter cards if a UEFI-aware OS is installed.
The MegaRAID Storage Management (MSM) Application v12.05.03.00 is available at,

Isn't this the same as setting "light Effects=On" in the settings? Mine "breathes" away happily after a missed call.

Iphone 4s Purchased in USA is not supporting after IOS 8.0

I have brought unlocked Iphone 4s from US, two year before. I have inserted a SIM AIRCEL, Vodafone, Idea same was working fine. But 15days before when I have received update for IOS 8.0. I have updated same IOS but now i am not able to receive any service, as it is showing No Service.
when i am activating the sim again it is showing massage " Contact Apple for support, Sim is not active - whereas i have tried all service providers sim.
Please advise.

It was more than likely a hacked/jailbroken phone. It's now been bricked by the update.
Buy a new phone from a legitimate, authorized source.

IPhone 3GS Will not boot after iOS 4.3 Update....

I updated my wife's 3GS last night and when it was done it rebooted and started filling up the line under the apple logo like it always does after the software is loaded but after the bar fills up, the phone locks up and does not go past the apple logo with a full bar under it. - iTunes also locks up when you connect the phone. I've tried to restore it but it does the same thing.... any ideas?

You're further than I am!! Mine's frozen on the apple with an empty progress bar. And absolutely nothing seems to be working. I've tried taking the SIM card out, tried restoring to previous system, but Itunes won't recognise the phone. It's absolutely doing my head in and I'm going out of town in the morning and really don't fancy being without my phone!

Exchange email will not work after IOS 5.1 update. Anyone else having same problem. Its been three days now I cannot get mail.

I'm having the same issues, except only one of my Exchange accounts took a dive after upgrading to iOS 5.1. My Gmail account (set up as Exchange) works flawlessly but my native Exchange account (work e-mail) stopped working after the update.
Post update to 5.1: (work Exchange account) I could view my inbox and view individuals emails in the inbox, but I was unable to send any emails. Mail started asking for my password after the update (for the affected Exchange account) but once entered, it failed to verify.
I completley removed the Exchange account and rentered all the account settings but again, failure to verify any information. I was hoping my password might have changed but it did not. Also, maybe the IT guy at the office (not very bright) changed some settings but the only difference is the new iOS update.
And while playing with the iPhone trying to make it work again, I noticed something really weird. Old emails (2-3 weeks) from multiple email accounts to include the inop Exchange account started showing up again on the pull down notification menu. I would clear these out of the notificaion menu but they always kept reapearing; very strange.

PDFs do not open after iOS 7.1 update

I've got several employees that now report not being able to view PDFs on the iPad 4 now that they have updated the iOS to 7.1. The PDFs will open fine on their laptops and PCs, so they are not corrupt files. We've tried using the default Quick Look, Bluebeam Revu, and Adobe Reader.
I tested the exact same PDF files on an iPad 4 that was still running 7.0.xx and the files opened perfectly fine with all three apps mentioned above. Once I updated that iPad to 7.1, it behaved like my other employee's iPads.

Did a full backup of iPad to desktop iTunes.
Did a reset of all apps and data on the iPad.
Performed restore from iTunes.
Also removed from MDM monitoring, removed all MDM profiles.
No change in behavior. On an occasion where a PDF will consistently open, it appears to be from a copier scan and not one that was created in another application and then converted to PDF (like architectural CAD drawings). We access building drawings in PDF all day long from different sources. We never had this issue before iOS7.1 was released.
Some PDFs will open in Quick Look, some in Adobe Reader and some in Bluebeam Revu (or Vu). Most don't open at all in Quick Look or cause Bluebeam to crash (back to home screen). Adobe Reader says the file is corrupt. But ALL of them will open on laptop or desktop computer.
Any other suggestions are welcome...

Sound from apps/radio/browsers clicks not working after IOS 8.3 update

aafter the new update 8.3 my iPad sounds are not working like "app games" "app news" " sound clicks from keyboard and browser, is someone else having problems with sounds, however, the speakers are working, I went to "music" and it is fine, sound from web browsers stream is fine or playback videos are all ok.
any ideas, I'm lost in this issue, besides the new update made my iPad faster, as well as, the wifi.

Check that the mute switch (top right side switch above volume control) is pushed up OR
pull up from the bottom of the screen to bring up control Center & make sure the bell with a line going through it (mute) is not highlighted. It would only be there if the side switch is set to lock screen rotation.
Settings->Sounds->check the volume slider is up & that lock sounds & keyboard clicks are enabled.
If the first two don't work, try a general reset:
Settings->General->Reset->Reset All Settings. You won't lose data but will have to log back into your wifi network(s)

Ipad does not work after IOS 7.2 update

After update to IOS 7.2 for my latest generation Ipad (with retina display) the screen repeatedly changes betwen the regular view of my home screen with ipad app icons over to the Apple update screen (black and white screen with the Apple logo in the middle. This occurs back and forth every few seconds. No update is actually taking place and under Genera it says my software is up to date.
What to do?

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

Sorry, you can't, as it was a change made by Apple with iOS 7.1. There are no settings to change it.

Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

Lion Server network accounts not available after 10.7.4 update

I installed the incremental update for Server 10.7.3 to 10.7.4, and now my network accounts can't log in. That would be all users of the machine then. How can I fix this?

Exact same thing happened to me on my 2010 MacBook Pro, running Lion as well. Updated to 10.7.4 and whammo, no more DVD drive. Tried numerous discs and the computer just mulled over whether it was going to play the discs for a few attempts then spat them out. All the discs I tried were in perfectly good working order.
Just saw this thread, but created one of my own before (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4026857). Still waiting for some help....
