My Iphone 4s will not auto lock. Any suggestions?
Up until recently, my 4s would lock after the 1 minute that I requested. I set a passcode, now it will not auto lock at all. I've checked all settings and even disabled passcode. Still will not auto lock....
Settings>General>AutoLock = set to 1 minute.
If that doesnt work then follow these steps.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All settings>Then Settings>General>AutoLock= set to 1 minute. - Test again
If doesnt work then you will want to restore the phone and setup as new, not restore from a backup - if it comes down to that repost and I can explain those steps

Plug it into the computer and start iTunes. Hold down the sleep/power button and home button together for 10 seconds, then release the power button and continue to hold down the home button until a message appears in iTunes telling you an iPhone in recovery mode has been detected. See if that works

Assuming the phone is not hacked or jailbroken, and you are using a USB port directly on the Mac and not a USB hub you probably have a hardware failure. Take it to an Apple store. As it's a 5 it is still under warranty.

Since the installation of 8.0.2 my iPhone 6 will not auto rotate in any app. I have locked/unlocked the feature in settings several times using the command bar but to no avail. I read using the Kindle app and it also is locked in portrait whether the lock is on or off.

Actually, the OP tried that (six months ago) and it didn't work. They resolved the issue (six months ago) by updating their system software (six months ago). -

my iPhone 4 has just shut down. Rang the phone then vibrated for 2 minutes bank screen, will not turn on, also tried charging and will not charge. Any suggestions? I did download a ringtone app and went on to iTunes to sync!.
Try charging the iPhone via a wall socket for at least 30 minutes then try a reset by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 20 seconds (maybe longer) until the Apple logo appears, ignore the red slider. Then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing the reset.

When you add the printer, make sure you use IP > Jetdirect and the correct printer IP address. -
I just bought a nano and am trying to sync to itune on my mac. It tells me I need the latest version of itune. When I try to download this it tells me I need a new OS. I have updated both and my nano still will not sync. Any suggestions?
Numbers documents from iOS need Numbers 3.2 on a Mac to open. And Numbers 3.2 requires Mavericks. If you are using Mavericks you can get Numbers 3.2 from the Mac App Store. It will be free IF you have Numbers 2 (iWork '09) installed. Otherwise you must buy it.
Your other option is to send the Numbers file as an Excel file via e-mail to yourself to open with an earlier version of Numbers. -

lb6301OK, the only thing that I can suggest at this point is to take the machine to your local Apple Store and have them download and install the latest version of Safari. It's likely something that they'll do for free if you get a nice Genius...
I don't know what I was thinking about - finely figured out that you MUST have an iOS or other device!

The simplest operation your Mac can do is start up with the Option key held down. The code is all in ROM. It uses a One size fits all resolution to light up the display and draw an icon for each potentially bootable Volume.
The most effective thing your Mac can do when confused is to start up using the Shift key. It does one pass of Disk Utility "Repair Disk" then boots up with minimal extensions loaded and ask you to login. But if your Mac is really sick, it may never get there.
