My iPhone 5 32Gb has a capacity of 28.1Gb is this correct? or bellow par and require replacement?
Hi, I have purchased a new iPhone 5 32GB, i go into: Settings> About> scroll to capacity and have only 28.1GB.
I heard i am supose to have 29.8 at least? does my iPhone require replacement and/or is this correct or faulty?
Mikk
That is correct. The exact amount of free space depends on the OS version and iPhone configuration, and may vary up or down by a gig or so.
If there was a problem with the phone memory, you likely would see no storage at all or in fact be unable to even boot it up.

Hey there byambar,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’re describing two issues, the first issue is related to the Zoom accessibility feature and the second issue is related to the device being disabled.
Take a look at the article linked below to learn more about Zoom and the other accessibility features on your iPhone 5.
Use Accessibility features in iOS - Apple Support
This article will help you resolve the issue with your iPhone being disabled.

My iphone screen has gone completely blank I have tried holding down both the sleep and home buttons and nothing has happened and I have tried to connect it to my laptop but itunes will not recognise, what can I do ?
have you tried charging the device ?
if so and it still does not work you can try a Forced Recovery..
by holding the HOME button down and plugging it into your computer at the same time..

I just bought an iPhone 5. My iPhone 4 has all my music on it, mail, mms, sms, notes, videos, photos and apps. How do I transfer the music etc to my new iPhone? - icloud? - homesharing?
I just bought an iPhone5
To ensure my old iPhon4 was backed up i...
1. Deleted the iPhone4 backup from iTunes prefs(devices)
2. I then sycnched the iPhone4 to get a new backup of the old Phone.
I then installed my new iPhone5 from the fresh backup of the old iPhone4
This way i got my new iPhone5 exactly as my old iPhone4
Screens all looked the same, EVERYTHING the same.
Some minor adjustments were needed afterwards.
Hope this helps. -
My iPhone 5 has been dead for weeks.. I just now found it and plugged it in, how long should it take for it to turn on??
I think that the battery is dead because , if you don't charge it for a long time the battery will ruin. You must wait, with the charger plugged, for a long time to turn it on. it could be also a worse problem and you have to replace your battery

My iphone 4s has ceased to make the keyboard click sounds. I reset it and made sure that the keyboard click sound is selected in the Settings menu but still no click sound. Can anyone help?
In Settings - Sounds - Silent - Vibrate, I tried toggling back and forth from "on" to "off", but still no keyboard click.

There is no sound in one of the earphones I received with my iPhone. My iPhone is still under warranty, so can I just go to the genius bar and get replacement earphones?
You may wish to make an appointment first. Otherwise, you may face a long wait

My old iphone 3g has photos on it. When I try to get the photos off and onto my imac iphoto and image capture only bring up the camera roll. I have more pictures that arent on the camera roll there are albums and a photo library full of pictures that I want off of this dang phone. I have tried everything and I cant email them to myself because the service has been cut off of the phone. They are stuck on the phone there is there any way to get them off? Am I missing something.
The iphone is not a storage/backup device. It simply mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced.
Again, the photo sync is one way.
Did you fail to maintain a backup copy of your old computer?
Not good. You can e-mail the photos from your iphone. You do not need to have phoe service for this. The iphone uses wi-fi. The photos will never be of the original quality, as they are reduced when synced to iphone. -
My iphone 4 has been stolen.
Ive done some googling and found you can erase a passcode and restore a phone to factory settings using itunes... if this happens and someone tries to do it with my phone- will i be notified???No, you will not receive notification if someone restores your iPhone
as new via iTunes. If you had set up Find my iPhone prior to the loss,
you could remotely wipe your iPhone if it was connected to the internet
without being restored. If your iPhone is restored by someone else, all
data on it will be lost.
If you had no lockscreen password on your iPhone,
all of your data was accessible to whoever has it. Change all your passwords
immediately. Report the theft to the police and your cellular provider. In some
countries, cellular providers will block the iPhone from being used in that
country but block does not apply elsewhere. Sorry to hear of your loss. -
As stated above, it is also fully charged and I reset it by holding down home and top button. This is my old phone and was given to my nephew to use as a iPod to play games. It is not being used as a phone, I have the five. He showed it to me on FaceTime and it originally had several stripes about one quarter inch wide, grey and dark grey and verticle top to bottom. After I had him reboot it by holding down the two buttons, it just has one stripe down the middle vertically. Is it dead? It's way out of Apple Care. Also he says the home key doesn't work but he activated some other " button" that appears on the screen and acts like the home key. I have no idea what this is. Thanks for any help. Jon
"What is this from and how do I get rid of it?"
Such symptoms bode serious hardware issues and you shouldn't think about fixing it yourself when you are still in waranty. Get to an Apple Store, like the other poster suggests. -
Hi,
My iphone 5 has started to randomly shut down (So battery level not affected) constantly requiring a hard reset everytime to restore the phone back to working condition. Sometimes it doesn't even respond to a hard reset (Power button and home button pressed together) and is not recognized by itunes. If I leave it alone for a little while and tehn try again it sometimes works. Again its all random sometimes immediately sometimes after a few hours. Its really ridicolous on unreliable this phone is. Worst part I was quite happy and had no problems prior to iOS7 but ever since that upgrade my phone is no longer working. Apple told me this is a hardware issue but that doesn't make sense as it was fine prior to iOS7. Either way I am past the warranty so this means buying a new phone - whcih based on my current experience will not be an iPhone unless I get this fixed.I have reset my phone a large number of times. It doesn't work. I am now reseting and setting it up as a new phone every 2 days. It works for a while and then teh cycle repeats.

My iPhone 5 has been stolen, how can I report this or what can I do about it?
Anybody know how to report a stolen iPhone and get it blocked?
Your carrier may be able to cut off cellular service to it, and you might be able to locate or wipe it with Find My iPhone, but only if you had that turned on on the phone before it was stolen.
Aside from that, your local law enforcement might be able to help. -
Three days ago I was trying to take a picture, but I couldn't see what I was taking because of the flickering white lines that covered the screen. But when I looked at the image after taking it, it was perfectly fine. So I knew it wasn't the camera playing up. The next day my phone wouldn't allow me to view images without the lines appearing. The following day I changed my brightness settings, and it went back to normal. But now it is much worse. No matter what I try to do the flickering lines are all over the screen! I don't know what to do. I would appreciate any help, thank you!
These images don't really show the extent of the flickering, but it may give you an ideaI'm not a fan of DFU mode because I've never seen it recommended by Apple.
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -
HT1349 My Iphone 4s has frozen. How do I solve this issue?
My I Phone 4s froze while taking a picture. I tried to turn the phone off and it froze again trying to shut off. How do I reset the phone or is there an easier way to reboot the phone?
Did you try to hold the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again?
This is called a reset and you will not lose data doing this.
