My iPhone cannot sync wif computer... But can charge wif 3pin plug charger..

When you plug your iPhone into your PC and hear the sound does your iTunes show up on your computer? I would suggest a couple of things...........first, re-download iTunes...then try connecting your iPhone  USB connector to your PC. If iTunes opens but it does lot list your phone As being connected.....................un-plug your iPhone  ....and then re-plug it in (I have to do that often). If none of that works, try a hard reset of your iPhone (by holding the "sleep" and "Home" buttons until you see the white Apple logo) and then try connecting again. Let me know if this helps.

  • Cannot add wifi password

    Hello All!
So I have an iPad Mini (Retina) T-Mobile if it really matters. Which I don't think so. But I cannot currently add a wifi password.
I've tried everything I can think of including resetting the WHOLE device.
When you go to add a Network I click "Other" and I can add the name. Then I can click on Security, but after I check WPA2, there is NO BACK button to supply the password.
On my iPhone it works just fine.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks
    Nate

Here's how to approach this one.
    1. Tap Settings > WiFi > Other network
    2. Enter the name of the network you are trying to log onto
    3. Tap Security and tell the iPod what type of security the network is using
    4. Tap Password and enter the network password
If this still doesn't work, reset your network settings (tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network settings and try the steps above again once the iPod restarts.
If you don't know what type of security is being used by the network, ask the owner before you try to log in. WEP encryption and the iPod have a love-hate relationship so if you still have problems, do write back.

  • [Solved] Nm-applet in Openbox doesn't save WiFi password

    Hi guys!
In this days I'm working on a Openbox desktop on my eeepc 1005HA...
For the wifi connection I have to use network-manager because wicd doesn't work well with the encription of my university (WPA2 Enterprise Tkip + cert)...
But nm-applet every boot asks me the wifi pass! There are 3 days that I scan google and forums for a solution but I haven't found it yet....
    I've already tried:
    1) unlock keyring modifying as is written in the wiki (doens't work)
    2) add gnome-keyring-daemon --start -c pkcs11 & in autostart.sh and then in rc.local (because so it starts before nm-applet)
    3) adding source /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/30-dbus or export GNOME_DESKTOP_SESSION_ID="openbox" in autostart.sh as i've read somewhere in the web, but nothing! Nm-applet don't save the password...
I don't know what try now....Someone has been able to get it work?

  • IPhone Cannot Save E-mail Drafts

The current iPhone OS cannot save e-mail drafts. (The Draft folder displays, but an e-mail created using the iPhone cannot be saved as a draft.) E-mail drafts must be saved on a Mac, after which they can be accessed on an iPhone. This is problematic, not only limiting the iPhone user to the choices of either sending or deleting a current e-mail message, but also creating the need to create drafts ahead of time at home on a Mac in order to access them on the iPhone (which defeats the whole purpose of a draft; an unfinished e-mail message which could not be foreseen ahead of time, that needs to be finished later).
For example, the current iPhone OS will not let you enter multiple e-mail addresses for an e-mail message. A "not-very-good" work-around for this is to create a draft on a Mac in Mac Mail ahead of time with the desired group of multiple e-mail addresses entered in the 'To:' field. Then, when you want to send an e-mail message to a large group of people from your iPhone, you can access the draft e-mail to do it. But once the draft has been sent from the iPhone, it disappears from the Draft folder, and you have go home to create another one on the Mac computer before being able to access it from your iPhone again. Giving the iPhone the ability to save an e-mail message as a draft (not just view drafts), and have the draft sync with MobileMe to be viewed in Mac Mail and MobileMe Mail would eliminate this problem.

I have used an application called "Download All Files" from the Play Store (formerly Android Market) to allow me to download any kind of attachment in emails. Give that a try and see if it works for you.

  • IPad cannot remember wifi password

I am the owner of a new iPad and am having trouble getting it to remember my home wifi password (26 character hex password).
Firstly, I have already tried resetting the network settings but this has made no change. Secondly, once the password is entered, there is no option to forget the network. Each and every time I turn off my iPad it switches off the wifi and forgets the password. I have, also, tried toggling the 'ask to join new wifi networks' setting but, again, this has done nothing to resolve the issue.
    Assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

  • Cannot save VNC password

I'm trying to set the VNC password for my macbook pro with osxlion but the system preferences reports that the vnc password could not be saved. under further inspection i have found that the com.apple.VNCSettings.txt file is missing from library/preferences
how do i make a new one that works? i tried just putting a blank txt file in there but it gives the same error that it could not save the password
i've also tried repairing the disk in disk utility

I found a solution. Although deleting the VPN connection and adding it again still did not work, I was able to find a workaround. The problem occurred with a PPTP connection. I was able to get the password to save by changing the type of VPN connection to a different one, adding and saving the password, then setting the connection type back to PPTP. It works, but I surely shouldn't have had to go through this to get it to work.

  • HT204409 my iphone 3gs cannot use wifi passwords that have capital letters

I have tried many times at 2 different locations to try and connect my iphone 3gs. Yes it is old, but I have comcast and it will connect to "xfinitywifi" cause the password is all lower case, but will not accept any password that has capital letters. I shouldn't have to change my password to accommodate this phone. Very frustated. Bout to go get an Android, if this doesnt get fixed.

There is no problem using a password with uppercase letters in iOS.

  • TS3798 I can't get wifi on my iphone even though my desktop computer can get the internet.  I thought it was a problem with the modem so I got a new one ...but still the same problem (my computer gets internet but my iPhone cannot get wifi from it).  PLEA

I was always able to get WiFi on my iPhone through my home computer.  Then all of a sudden it went out (uses 3G network instead of WiFi).  Sometimes it would connect back to WiFi for a few seconds then back to 3G.  I then decided it was the modem so I got a new modem.   Well, I have no problem getting internet on my home computer but cannot still get WiFi on my iPhone from my computer.  What do I need to do - HELP!!

    Thank you again.
Yes, it worked. First, I just replaced the all info. as before,  the router IP also (Stupid) , not success.
So, I created the new network, then, the Router IP automatically showed up .
I think the old setting still there under my Airport station (so, 2 setting right now)?
Anyway, my iPad and iPod touch works well with the new wi-fi network.
    Thank you very much.
I got this Airport Extreme from a friend who wen to Time Capsule, still have the box and serial No. but will not work for Apple Phone support.
I appreciate for your fast help.

  • Cannot save a password-protected file

The bank has sent me my own statement except it is password protected. I want to save this file WITHOUT password protection.  How would I do this?  I am using ADOBE X.
    Thanks

You can't do this in the free Reader. Only in Acrobat. Even in Acrobat, the bank could have protected the document in a fashion that you can't remove the security setting.

  • How can I make my Iphone remember my Wifi password?

In IOS5 my Iphone always remembered the WPA passcode for my home Wifi Router whenever I turned the Wifi on, in Settings. Now I have upgraded to IOS6, and every time I come home from work I have to manually put in my home Wifi code. So how can I get it to remember the code so that I don't have to?
    Richard

It is a software issue but the fix with the phone not wanting to stay connected to a router can be fixed through the router settings.  You have to get into your router settings and make sure that you change your broadcast channel to one single channel.  Then reconnect to the router that should fix the dropping of wifi.  I have seen a lot of posts on this and did not experience any issue until my router settings were reset after messing around with the phone restoring and trying all the fixes I went back into the settings on my router and noticed my broadcast channel was set on auto I changed that and so far no drop on wifi in 36 hrs.  It is a software issue though that apple programmers need to address.

  • Iphone 4 saves wrong password for mail accounts

Every time I put the right password in on my mail accounts and now my itunes acount in icloud the password changes to the same 8 letter password that is not the password.. it changes to this password for everything! as soon as I put the right one in and back out then go back in it changes the password back to the wrong 8 letter password.. what is causing this and how can I fix it? my mail won't send through sometimes and I cannot get icloud to to even work to back up files.. it has been like this for a long time, even before the new os 5.. I have done a complete reset, deleted the mail accounts and all that.. nothing has worked.. please help!

Hope you found an answer to this problem because I'm still having this problem!
..they ask to update your password and then it just reverts to this 8 digit mystery password?
What is the problem with these passwords?

  • Cannot save Mail password

This topic has been brought up before but I have not found a solution to my problem. Mail does NOT save my account passwords (POP or SMTP), which I have to input every time I launch the application. Here are the details:
    PowerPC G4 733 MHz
    OS X 10.3.9
    Mail 1.3.11
    Mail server: bluehost.com
Open Mail, select 'get mail' -- asks for password. Can get incoming mail after entering password.
Preferences: input password for POP account, save.
Reopen Preferences: PW not there, field is blank.
If select 'get mail' immediately after putting PW into preferences, does not ask for PW again.
Quit Mail, reopen Mail, 'get mail' asks for PW again, and PW does not appear in Preferences.
Have checked box in Mail to save PW in Keychain, does not save it in Keychain
Have repaired permissions using Disk Utility
Have run Keychain Repair, no problems found
Have manually entered Mail account PW into Keychain, then checked 'save' in Mail password dialogue box. Does not save PW for use in Mail. The info appears in the Keychain but I don't think it's actually doing anything, since I entered this manually.
Again ran Keychain Repair after manual entry of Mail account info, no problems found
Similar problems with SMTP password, although sometimes this actually seems to be saved in the Preferences after entry. Still asks me for the password the first time I send a message after launching the application, every time.
Occasionally I also get a 'password rejected' error message, but re-entry of the password is usually accepted.

OK. Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
The following is how you might be able to solve this problem in Mac OS X 10.4 -- I don’t know whether there are any differences in this regard in Mac OS X 10.3:
    1. Open /Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access
    2. In Preferences > General, click Reset My Keychain and proceed as requested. A new (empty) login keychain should be created and the old one renamed and removed from the keychain list, but not deleted.
    3. You can add the old (renamed) keychain (stored in ~/Library/Keychains/) back to the keychain list by clicking the [+] button in Edit > Keychain List.
    4. You can move/copy password entries from the old keychain to the new one if wish.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder.

  • After merge keychain can't save any password info

After merge to my new iMac I cannot save any passwords at all. Keychain First Aid repair gives the following report:
    Repair started
Checking keychain configuration for David Bivans (user ID=502)
    Home directory is /Users/davidbivans
    Checked login keychain
User differs on ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain, should be 502, owner is 501
Permissions incorrect on ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain, should be -rw-r--r-- , they are -rw-r--rw-
Owner not corrected on ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain, reason: No such file or directory
Permissions not corrected on ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain, reason: Operation not permitted
    Checked default keychain
    Checked keychain search list
Warning: some problems were not fixed
    Repair failed
Somehow it appears ownership has become jumbled.
    Help!

I guess my main problem is- how do I set this network to be used (and have the password working) when I start up my computer. I only lose the connection and have to reenter the password after shutting down.

  • Viewing wifi passwords?

I was wondering if I could view what my stored password is for an iphone wifi account. The situation is this: my iphone has a wifi password account saved (for the wifi at my uncle's house) and I'd like to add that same account to my wifi-airport for my macbook pro. I could just ask my uncle for the password again, but I was wondering if this is even possible on the iphone.
    Thanks,
    --chris

No. Generally speaking, most programs that store WiFi passwords don't give the user the ability to view said passwords.
