I cant get my new iphone5 to sink up with my itunes. it said that i need to upload the new itunes and I did . now its saying that my softwear is to old on my comupter

Not sure if you have tried the steps in the articles below to get your iPhone back up and running. The first one will force your iPhone into recovery-mode and iTunes should ask to restore your iPhone. The last two articles are for troubleshooting the connection to your computer depending on what type of computer you have.

Usually this error occurs when trying to downgrade the iOS or in a previously jailbroken phone. In this case, you cannot get help here. The internet and Google are your best friends.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

since you cant uninstall the store and reinstall it I would first suggest resetting your phone by holding the home button and sleep wake button for 15 seconds until you see the apple logo appear if that doesnt work I would suggest restoring your phone from backup if that doesnt work I would restore your phone as new and finally if that doesnt work I would take it to a apple store..

Here is the deal, i have not been a good mac owner in the sense that i probably havent had proper updates throughout the years. Hence, my itunes is out of date and my iphone doesnt get recognized by itunes (poor fella). but the strange thing is that my other iphones were recognized.
Here is the kicker, my cloud has a backup on my iphone and my ipad recognized on the iPhone device taking up 587.2 mb. IF i delete the ipad will it remove contacts and wreak havoc.Your other phones were probably old enough that they worked with the version of iTunes you have. When you buy a device it requires the version of iTunes current at the time of purchase. A new phone will require a new iTunes which won't run on your Powerbook.
I didn't think iCloud backed up to a device, the device backs up to iCloud. Are you sure you aren't simply seeing backups in the Cloud and not something actually on your phone? -
My iphone doesnt show up in my itunes. It shows up when i plug it into another laptop. Similarly, when i use someone else's iphone, that shows up in my itunes. Obviously my itunes wont recognise my iphone. Please help

*Connect iPhone to the different USB Ports to see if another port provides more power to the iPhone to allow it to be seen in iTunes

Do you have a SIM in the phone? A SIM is required to activate the phone.

I bought an audio book and downloaded it to my iphone...i dropped the phone in water and i have received a different iphone when i go to itunes it doesnt show my purchase. I have the receipt number in my email how do i retrieve it??

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

I have had the same problem as you, and have spent the past 2 days figuring it out. I have been on the phone with AppleCare 3 times, and been to the Apple Store once as well. I ended up reinstalling iTunes completely, creating a new Administrator account on my Mac, and getting a brand new iPhone 4. None of these fixed the problem. I have a Mac, and I skipped everything except for the Terminal instructions.
I did the Terminal command, added # and a space in front of the only line it showed that had apple.com in it, then saved and exited. My update worked perfectly immediately after I completed those steps. Again, I hope this helps you as well! -
