My iphone 5 got water damage issue

hi my iphone 5 was dropped in water and now if i try to turn it on it doesnt do anything but when i plug it in the wall the boot screen comes on and then turns off then comes on agian and so on but i was wondering is there a way of fixing it, does it just require a new baterry or is it wrecked? thanks Chris
