That's exactly right. And since you have a MacBook Air (as I do), that means the synching should occur just fine (if you've set it up right in iTunes). In other words, once you actually do the update, the iTunes on your MacBook Air will re-sync your photos back to your iPhone.
Basically, the process is that your iPhone gets backed up, wiped clean, then the new iOS version gets installed, then the backup gets restored. That will restore everything in the article above, which does not include your photos. But the sync process that happens after the iOS installation would restore your photos from iPhoto given you've set it up that way in iTunes.
When you have your iPhone plugged into iTunes, while looking at the iPhone's summary page, click "Photos" on the right side of iTunes to see how you have your sync set up.
Regardless, it sounds like you'll be fine! Your photos will wind up in iPhoto once you place them there. They will be safe there.

Apple just released firmware 1.2.1 for the ipod, you should try restoring your iPod again with that.

After updating to the newest version of iTunes which is 11.1.3.8, I can no longer edit song information because whenever I click Get Info, the program crashes. It says, "iTunes has stopped working...". I literally tried all the troubleshooting techniques here but to no avail!
I already:
Reinstalled iTunes and other related programs like a hundred times
Scanned my computer for viruses
Opened iTunes on another user account
Opened iTunes on safe mode
Removed unusable configuration files
BUT STILL, the problem persists. I have the same version of iTunes on my office computer and it works perfectly fine but I want my iTunes here at home to get fixed. Never had problems with editing song information until I updated it to 11.1.3.8.
I just don't know what to do anymore. I updated this program last January 1 and until now I haven't found any solution. It's really getting on my nerves!!!

All iTunes content - all music, movies, tv shows, tones, audio and print books, and 3rd party apps should be in your iTunes library on your computer.
Settings, passwords, etc. are also included with the iPhone's backup, but so is a significant amount of other data. There is always the change some of the data included with the backup is corrupt or cannot be restored from the backup.

I recently installed software version 1.0.1 and my iphone has had problems ever since. problems i have noticed is that when you press the lock button it takes about 2 seconds to respond, the same goes for when i try to unlock the phone. I have also noticed that when im making a call the screen freezes. I have tried restarting it through itunes and it still gives me problems...

I would recommend doing a reset of the iPhone, and perhaps a restore. If it continues to do that, call Apple for support.

I have this problem after updating the new iOS. Went to telco. They told me to go QCD. Singapore apple agent. They told me to apple hot line. Apparently no help was given. I suspect my phone wifi was defective after updating. My phone warranty was just due after one year 7 may. I was hope that QCD can give me a a replacement phone after talking to hot line help desk. But disappointed with the reply. I actually want to see if can just repair the wifi if possible. Who can advice me. ?

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting.
If this did not work, and to rule out a software issue, setting it up as new device would be the next step:

The Nokia 111 is unfortunately not capable of playing streaming video from the web, so it will not play YouTube videos.
If your phone reports no available software then it means that you already have the latest version. Series 40 phones like these have a simple Java-based operating system into which changes cannot be made without the user's explicite consent, and so they are not subsceptible to viruses

How do I get my iPod Touch to be on regular speech instead of double time after updating new software?

I downloaded the new software. Since then my podcasts are on double time which is very hard to listen to. Also, I can't find out where the timer is for the individula podcasts and I can't seem to go back and listen to things over. There are only seems to be a volume control. Please help. I use it every night and now it is unusable.

Well, another case of hurting the good, while trying to go after the bad. What the issue is apparently Apple put in a check point feature around version 4.2.1 that checks for users who are redirecting their connections to gs.appl.com. If the itunes process suspects this, your phone firmware management process stays in recovery mode. You get error 1013 which says you have a hardware error and list numerous hardware related things for you to check. So my iphone sat on my dresser for two months under the belief that I had a hard ware issue. Well the fact of the matter is that there was nothing wrong with my phone. Apparently there are users who jail brake their iphone to run other apps, and for those users, they have an entry in their hosts file that redirects gs.apple.com to a website that is set up to assists jail break users. all this not endorsed by apple. The checkpoint feature that apple put in to detect this uses a timer and waits for a response between your system and gs.apple.com. If the timer threashold elapses, an assumption is made that you are redirecting your gs.apple.com connection, and are a jail break user. Your phone gets put into recovery mode. Problem with this is that there are ligitimet users who have host files that are ligitemt and does not redirect their connections to gs.apple.com. In my case I use a 60,000 line hosts file to redirect adware, malware, and other vulnabilary type sites. The lenth of time for my PC to search thru this file exceeds the threashold period involved in the checkpoint process, and even though the gs.apple.com entry does not appear in my hosts file, an assumption was made that I was a redirection of gs.apple.com user, and my phone was put into recovery mode. to fix my problem I tempoaryily used the default hosts file of
Host Database
localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.
127.0.0.1 localhost
255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
I have no reason to prevent my system from talking to gs.apple.com. It just takes a little longer to do so. There are thousands of iphone users right now who have iphones locked into recovery mode, probably because they are on a slow internet connection and their threashold is being exceeded. These folks are innocent victims of of the pursuit of the jail break users. Apple needs to figure out another way to do this with out impacting loyal customers. Apple. shame on you.

I updated my iphone 5 to software release 7.1.1 and have lost my facetime icon. I no longer find facetime in settings however I do find the facetime icon under "use for cellular data" but I can not locate it anywhere on the phone.

Depending on which colour phone you've got, the country you live in & whether you're phone is branded or not (tied to a network), the current version for most phones is V21.
Some phones (mine included) which are sim-free/contract free have V30.
I would recommend that if your phone is working correctly, that you DO NOT upgrade your firmware to V30, it's buggy & horrid.
If you want to know the settings then White Key-Settings-Phone-Phone Mgmt-Device Updates-Options-Settings.
There you should find a Option "Default server profile", it should be Always Ask, but if you tap it, you'll get the option to change it to Nokia, change it to Nokia, then Exit.
