My iPhone 5 isn't connecting to the cellular network. Always "Searching...". What can I do?
It's a 32GB, black iPhone 5, not even a month old! What's going on! It worked fine for a few weeks but now all it does is either "Searching..." or "No service". I'm getting tired of this. It's a PHONE, firstly, right?
I've done a full reset (three times), gotten a new SIM card, reset the network setting (four or five times), rebooted the phone God knows how many times, received a refurbished set from Apple, talked to my carrier, EVERYTHING. The reset network settings worked pretty well for a few days but now I'm back to where I started! What can I do???
Everything on my device that requires an internet connection works, execpt iMessage. I get an allownace of 500mb a month although i check regulary and never run over that. I have had iMessage turned off since i posted this question and have just turned it on tonight and still the same problem. My Mobile Data button is on under settings, and everything is in working order, it only seems to be iMessage and Facetime that only work on Wi-Fi, not my 3G-mobile data. I amn't to bothered about my Facetime, just my iMessage. Is it worth visiting my network providers store?

I have recently bought an iPhone.
I have managed to connect it to my home Wi-Fi network and it accesses the internet without any problems.
This is fine for home use, but I don't want to access the internet while out-and-about. I notice the user guide mentions that the iPhone will try Wi-Fi first, search for other Wi-Fi's second, and then try my Phone carrier last.
My questions are as follows:
1) Will the iPhone confirm that I want a connection with the internet via my phone carrier Before it actually connects?
2) When I do connect via the phone carrier, how can I ensure that the connection has been properly disconnected when I have finished? The phone always displays 3G whether it is actually using the internet or not or just connected to the phone carrier.
3) Is there a way to disable the iPhone connecting to the internet via the phone carrier without disabling normal phone functions or the Wi-Fi home network option?
I have a simple data package, and don't plan to connect that often unless I'm using a wireless network. As my data package is only small I want to limit accidental use, hence why I want to ba e=able to ensure I know when I am and am not connected ot the internet.
For thos of you in Australia, I'm using Telstra and the 3G network.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Your answer above seems to already put my fears at ease.
No problem with having internet connection always available so that I can have it when I need it. I don't want to turn that off. Just wanted to make sure that as long as I don't use any applications that require internet connection, I don't get connected to the cellular network internet/data transfer and thus unknowingly eat up my free data hours. And, when I do use apps that do require internet connection, the connection/data transfer will automatically cease once I simply exit the apps.
Sometimes with such high tech products, I still have the need for something basic and outright such as -- 'disconnect from internet?' to ensure that I am really disconnected and not loosing my free hours... and worse of all, getting charged for use over the free hours! -
suddenly my iphone 4 stopped connecting to the 3g network although the 3g symbol is there on the left of the screen did this happen with anyone ??
Try turning on Airplane mode for 30 seconds (Settings>Airplane Mode>ON), then off. See if you can connect to 3G now.

I attempted to install the OTA update for 4.4.2, but received an error message that the installation failed. When my phone rebooted it was unable to connect to the cell network and was extremely sluggish. I own an iMac and the S4 is no longer recognized by Kies or Android File Transfer.
I attempted turning off the phone and removing the battery and Sim, to no avail. I also attempted to access the recovery tools, but the phone will no longer boot to recovery. I tried a factory reset, but I do no recall ever setting the security PIN it seems to require.Hello Vidar403

Mail on my iPad and iPhone has stopped connecting using wifi. If I turn wifi off I can connect using cellular. I have tried deleting my AOL account and setting it up again as a new account but that hasn't helped.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

I have tried everything I can think of to fix this, there are a couple ipads, computers, and a gaming system that all connect to the internet. But my ipod just wont let me, some help would be much appreciated.
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

When trying to connect to internet, my i6 phone says "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding." However, our house's wi-fi is on. Any ideas why this is happening?
Settings → scroll down to Safari → in Safari settings, I selected both Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.
IF that does not work -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Finally - if problem still present -
Go to Settings>General>Reset
Reset the network settings - you will need to add the password of your home WiFi in your phone once more
The device should turn itself off & back on then go into Settings>Wifi and join your network -

So since today my frontal speaker next to the frontal camera stopped working and I've been having problems where when I open the camera it reboots I just haven't had time to restore to fix the corrupted file could this be responsible for my speaker not working? Hello tmsipos11! That certainly sounds like an aggravating thing to occur! At this point, I recommend making sure that your iPhone 4s has the most recent software. The next upgrade is available now! If you've done so and yet still have this problem, please let me know!

When I connect my ipad to a wifi network, the iphone connects to the same network
When I connect my iOS 8 iPad 4 to the guest network at work, my iOS 8 iPhone 5s automatically connects to the same network. When I disconnect the iPhone so I can send an email from my iCloud account (which is blocked on the work network) and tell it to forget the network, it disconnects my iPad too. Each time I tell the iPhone to forget the network, when I reconnect my iPad, the iPhone connects again.
How do I tell my iPhone to never connect to the work guest network while allowing my iPad to connect?
I do not like this feature in iOS 8.Unfortunately, this does not help me, there are no issues with the operation of the WiFi, it is operating normally on both devices.
The issue is that in iOS 8, the WiFi network information is shared across linked devices. Therefore, if I add a network to one device, it is added to the other device and if I forget a network on one device, it is forgotten on the other.
I want to use a network on one device (the iPad) and to not use the network on the other (iPhone). How do I tell the iPhone to not connect to the WiFi without disabling WiFi while allowing the iPad to connect to the network? It is annoying to have to disable the iPhone WiFi manually each day when I get to work and it is prone to forgetting to turn it back on when I leave. -

I have tried 4 days to get iTunes 10.4 working on my Win7 x64 machine. I purchased a new iPhone4 and after syncing it the first time, I can't connect to the iTunes store.
When I try to run iTunes Help, I get this message "iTunes Help is unavailable because your computer isn’t connected to the Internet." However IE9 and Google Chrome run as always...... no connection problems.
I have already uninstalled IE9 x64 and iTunes 10.4 x64 and reinstalled but still the same. I followed all the instructions I could find about firewalls, ports, SSL etc.
