1. If you are really on iOS 7.1, you may wish to try upgrading to 8.1.2 which is the latest (basing this on your signature).
2. If updating the phone doesn't help, is this only when you connect to a specific wifi network? Or all wifi networks (including public with no password)? If it is ALL wifi networks, you may have a hardware problem. Genius bar would be the next step.

Unable to turn on or do a restore.
After installing IOS7 it would turn itself completely off sometime and have to be restarted with both buttons. If I turned it off normally it would restart okay within an hour or so but overnight it would always go to hard off.
Using both buttons would usually start it with the Apple logo on the screen until it came up. Worked normally then. Knowing something was afoot I did a restore.
Now it will not turn on at all and I tried to restore in itunes but it stops at the point of "waiting for info from the Ipad"
I tried the Apple forum "recovery-restore" process several times with holding down the home button and plugging in the USB but it did not respond.
When connected through itunes it is still recognized as needed to be restored but the process will not complete.

I have the iPhone 5 and have with 6.0.1 software version. Although I had them when I moved from iPhone 4 to the 5, the latest update has most of my songs on the phone listed in grey (over 95% of them) and I can't play them. They are still listed though.

They are still listed in the iTunes library. When I look in the Summary for the iPhone, it shows Audio as only .16 GB - I have over 5 GB of songs, so what gives?
P.S. When I look at my Playlists most of the songs are greyed out. However, at the bottom of the list there is a cloud icon with a downward facing arrow. When I click on it each song starts to "load" and after a few minutes I have the songs back on in the list. I have to do this to all my playlists (I had over 100) in order to get access to all my songs. Then I did a sync and it happened again!
I use iCloud for documents and some other things (calendar, contact, etc.) but am not aware that I have anything music-wise in the cloud. Any thougnts?

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

The file is 182 MB
Almost 100% is Images
It is an architecture portfolio with many complex images. Is there a setting when I change to PDF/A that can limit the growth of the image files?

I have a US iPhone and I am in the UK, I had a problem with the battery and got it replaced in a UK Apple store but then I start having a shut down and reboot ...when I called the customer service they said we can't give the UK options since it is a US product!! The iPhoto library should be in your user folder/Pictures unless it was moved.

Thanks for the help. I installed CC and it fixed everything but Photoshop. I guess I will have to use my old laptop for images until Adobe fixes the problem. Do you know of a place where we can send issues like these to Adobe?

You make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store and get it serviced/replaced. You broke it. If you can't even force a reboot, there's nothing much more you can do.

You canot easily change your country settings. The iTunes Store in a country is intended only for use by that country's residents, and only while they are in the country. To use the iTunes Store in a country you need a credit card (or other card type if acceptable in a country) issued in that country, billed to an address in that country, and also be physically present in that country when using the store. You are also restricted to waiting 90 days between country changes.
