My iPhone 3GS lost the signal operator completely after upgrading to iOS version 6.1.2, someone with the same problem? Just think when I enable the 3G, soon followed falls again.
I have already put another chip carrier and the same problem happens, my phone is factory unlocked.

Had same problem with iphone5 6.1.2 update. First tried reset network settings and didn work... Support recommend me a restore and ended up in recovery loop with iTunes error (-1)
Been at my carrier store (Optimus Portugal)... and iPhone sent to warranty. After 2 macbooks, 1 imac, 2 appletvs, 2 iphones, 1 ipod... I find disappointment with apple reliability....
At least the support guys at Optimus Portugal were very helpful and friendly, but I'll be 15 days without iPhone...

Why has my iPhone 4 lost its touch-screen-ability and created selection-boxes around apps, etc.. that require a double-tap to operate/execute?

VoiceOver is on.  Triple-pressing the Home button may be set to turn it on or off.

  • Iphone 4 bluetooth connectivity problems since updating to ios 5.01

My wife and I both have an Iphone 4 through verizon.  I updated my ios to 5.01.  Hers is still 4.3.10.  Since updating mine the bluetooth feature have gone crazy.  When I get in my truck (2008 Nissan Frontier) it just continually connects and disconnects with the built in blue tooth system in that vehicle.  I cannot make or take a call on the system it just keeps dropping the connection then re-connecting.  Funny thing is my wife's phone doesn't have this problem.  It connects and functions normally.
I wanted to just roll back ios 5.0.1 but I've found out you aren't allowed to do that.  Nissan has no updates for their bluetooth system either.
I have gone the extreme of completely wiping out my iphone and re-installing everything fresh and that has done nothing.  I have also tried completely deleting all the phone saved in the truck's system and re-setting them up and that too has done nothing to fix the problem.
Anyone have a suggestion?  I have to think that there is something in ios 5.0.1 that is messed up with bluetooth.

Interesting discussion. I too am having connection issues with an original iPad. I have an olde' linksys wrt54gs router with a Linksys RE1000 wireless extender (repeater). I can connect to the router just fine when I'm in range but can't use the repeater signal on this iPad only. Even when I'm right on top of it. One thing that may have helped is changing from WPA2 to simple WPA encryption in the routers settings. So far (crosses fingers), it's working ok.

  • My iPhone 4S lost its official permanent SIM unlock

    Hi,
I've had my iPhone 4S officially unlocked by my carrier (Orange France) through Apple.
As instructed by Apple, I restored it in order to fully unlock it. Restoring it is supposed to make the unlock permanent therefore bypassing the need for activation when using different sims.
This worked perfectly until last week (I traveled to the UK and Brazil and used local prepaid cards without having to re-activate it) when I tried using a brand new French Free Mobile sim card. To my surprise, I had to re-activate this iPhone using a wifi connection. This shouldn't have happened as the iPhone had been fully and permanently unlocked by restoring it (iTunes confirmed this after the restoration).
Now, I have to reactivate it every time I want to use a different carrier sim card as if it had lost its permanent unlock.
Activation on a SIM basis works using wifi BUT I shouldn't have to go through this. It looks like the iPhone lost its permanent sim unlock. This is very frustrating. It might not seem like much of a trouble but it is. For instance, when flying to a foreign country, if I want to switch sim cards in the plane, I won't be able to activate the iPhone without wifi connectivity which forces me to "hunt" for a wifi hotspot after landing in order to be able to use my iPhone.
There are many reports of French users having issues with Free sims with either activation or unlock.
My question is simple: if I restore once again my iPhone, how can I be sure the permanent unlock will stay that way if I use a Free Mobile sim card?
Will this problem be fixed soon?
In addition, switching sim cards in a plane is problematic with current firmwares as, when switching sims in a non-permanently unlocked iPhone, wifi is automatically turned on in order to try and activate it without the user actively choosing to do so. So many people will end up having wifi on in a plane when regulation prohibits it.

  • My iPhone has lost its sound for calls

my Iphone has lost it's sound for calls & notifications??? Help ! Otherwise, it works fine. ????

    Hi,
You could certainly Try a Reset of the Phone...
You will Not Lose Any Data...
    Turn the Phone Off...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
    Usually takes about 10 - 15 Seconds...
    Turn the Phone On...
If that does not help... See Here:

  • My iphone suddenly lost its power and i couldn't turn it on. what should i do?

my iphone suddenly lost power and i couldn't turn it on.

    All,
From personal experience, if the entire control for enabling WiFi was grayed out on your iPhone then you likely have a hardware problem.  Another indicator of a hardware problem with the wireless radio is if you go to Settings > General > About, and you see an empty entry fro the "Wi-Fi Address" property.
When this happens coincidentially with an iOS update it immediately makes us think that it's the fault of the new iOS when in fact it may have just occured at the same time by chance alone.
Take your iPhone in the the Apple Store and they can run a hardware test to determine if your wireless radio has failed.  My 4S recently had this problem and the Apple Store replaced it on-the-spot.  Just make sure to backup your iPhone prior to getting it serviced to make sure that you can easily restore it if you get a replacement.

my iphone has crashed & wont reboot since updating

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Why do I lose signal since updating to iOS 5.1?

    Hi,
Since I updated my iOS from 5.0.1 to 5.1, my iPhone:
    1) Takes a lot more time finding the network when I turn it on.
    2) Frequently loses reception and searches for network for 10-30 seconds before going back on the network full strength. The weird thing is that when this happens, I'm usually at the same place, so it does not make sense that I go from five bars of signal to nothing.
    3) Also, when I lose signal, there is a prompt telling me that I lost signal. This prompt is annoying, is there a way to make it not appear?
Sifting through forums, I realized that I was not the only one having this issue. Is Apple aware of that problem? Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue?
    Thank you

The signal on iPhone has been broken since the 5.0.1 update, some people got it as early as 5.0.1 while others have now seen it manifest itself with the later 5.1 update. So far Apple has not taken on it's resposibility to fix it, and will not likely look into it while the media keep quiet. There have been plenty of threads created on this support site but it looks like everything falls on deaf ears, sorry to inform you of this.
You will now also find that text messages may arrive very late, some will not arrive unless you power down the phone and turn it back on again... even if you did have a signal when the other person sent you that text message.

  • Crap 3G Signal since update to 4.0.2

I bought an Iphone 3GS 16G on the VODAPHONE network just after Christmas this year, was really impressed with it until.... i decided to update it to iSO 4.0.2.
Since then my 3G reception has suffered dramatically, the most my phone can manage to hold on to is 1 BAR!!!. this is rubbish especially when I try and make a call and the 1 BAR decides to go and the phone eventually switches to 2G reception, which i might add cuts me off the conversion im having.
Once its on 2G i have full signal so i have decided to disable the 3G network in the settings. I have read all this rubbish Apple are saying about how it has not changed the way the Iphone receives the signal its only changed the way it displays it. COMPLETE AND UTTER LIES!!!
i was sitting next to a friend earlier on today who has also got an Iphone 3GS 16G and is on the same network provider (Vodaphone). Her phone was displaying 4 BARS on the 3G NETWORK!!! and just to see if this rubbish apple are saying is true i rang the same person off my phone (only to have it cut out half the conversation) and then i rang them off of my friends phone. My friends phone was crystal clear reception, also the internet was fast on her phone and stupidly slow on mine.
The only difference between our two handsets was mine displayed 'Version 4.0.2' in the 'About' page and hers displayed 'Version 4.0'.
It would appear that the original iSO4 update didnt impact the 3G signal however when Version 4.0.1 & 4.0.2 were released it did.
I have contacted my network provider and they have confirmed the area I am in is fully 3G so i should have no problems.
Has anyone else got this same issue since this stupid (and clearly untested) update got released?

I would have recommended not updating to 4.0.2. People tend to think that new updates are miracle cures where as mostly they create new problems when fixing otthers. I haven't updated yet for that very reason. steveyjay wrote:

  • Lost all signal after updating to IOS 7.1

I have an iphone 4s and Tesco sim. No previous problems at all and had kept the phone updated, until about 5 days ago when I updated to IOS 7.1, since when I have lost all my network coverage. It constantly shows 'Searching' or sometimes 'No Service'. I can't make or receive any calls or SMS which is hugely frustrating - though the rest of the phone is working fine and I can still imessage using the internet. It's not a problem with the provider (I have a work phone on the same network which is working fine) and it isn't the sim card, which I had changed incase that was the problem. I've tried all the tips I can see on here - putting flight mode on, turning phone on/off, turning 3g on/off, turning automatic carrier on/off, reset network setting, even did a factory reset today - all to no avail.
If anyone can help I would be very grateful. Seems very unfair that I should lose the basic use of my phone for updating?

  • Iphone 4 Lost all Data after updating

    Hi there..
i got headache reading everywhere to find a solution to my problem, and didn't find any useful tips so far, i haven't slept for the past 24 hours because of this..
last day i did an update to my itunes to the latest version, and upgraded my iphone, while doing that my iphone got an error that it couldn't be updated and got stuck on recovery mode, and itunes asked me to do a restore to factory sitting, which i did, but in the last few seconds it just shows an error message that it cant update, and i get error 10, so i did what the manual said and tried using another computer which fortunately worked..
so i return to my first computer and tried to restore my backup files, and then i faced another problem, there was not enough space on my hard drive, i kept moving files away, deleting others and trying again, and every time i try, it takes up more space and i end up with few Kb on the drive.. i didn't know what to do, and got confused i think i click on back up instead of sync at some point, and when i realized that i hurried and unplugged the USP from the iphone, and in that moment a 3GB worth of data disappeared from my hard drive (i think it was the data the ituens kept creating while restoring back up) and a new back up worth 5mb was created on my back up folder..
now what i have on my iphone are my contact list, and my notes ..
what i don't have is 6 months worth of pictures and videos taken from the iphone, and my apps that are worth around $40 - $50
i read that iphone sync your data before doing a full restore, and i found 3 files on my back up folder one is 902 mb, secound 1.06GB and the third is 508 MB the first two dating today's date on 8:03 AM, the last one is also today on 6:33 AM which was the time i unplugged my USP from my iphone (i think)
i'v downloaded a program called "iPhone Backup Extractor" and saw that these folders contain all contacts, 300+ calender stuff and some messages (which i totally don't care for)but the photos and videos are marked None T_T
the question i'm asking is, how can i restore those lost pictures and videos, since they are very important to me, and how can i get my apps back?? i'v tried going to app store and downloading Whatsapp which i bought before, but now it asks me to pay again
i have some apps that is worth $5 and $10 each, i wouldn't mind paying for $.99 app again, but i can't pay more for an already paid app for that much yet again!!
by the way I have a windows Xp which i'm using, the restore worked on a windows 7 laptop
Plz help me, i'm starting to have a stomachache because all of this other than my headache T_T
    Message was edited by: Hschi

so i was playing around seeing if i can get the apps back, and after going through the payment process it recognized that i'v bought this already, so i was able to download my stuff back.. (should have figured this out already, since it was an online transaction)
Still want to recover my camera roll, and i was wondering if chat logs could be recovered too, such as for the whatsapp???
