My iPhone 5 sounds tinny.

After almost a year with my iPhone 5 I noticed somewhere along the line that my music had suddenly become tinny. The best way to describe it is when I listen to the song "1901" by Phoenix, I can "feel" the oscillating texture of the synthesizer intro (when I listen on my laptop or old iPod). On the iPhone now I can't feel the texture, it is basically just a noise. All songs/sounds (youtube...) are affected to some degree. I even had the phone replaced and the new one sounds exactly the same. What the heck is the problem here, if it is not the headphones or the hardware? Did they change the sound with the OS update? It still was fine after the switch to 7, but sometime around early December the problem started. It doesn't matter what EQ I use, everything sounds so tinny now. Can anyone help?

What photos?
Photos that you synced from your computer to iphone should still be on your computer.
Camera Roll photos ( taken with iphone)? You should be importing these regularly to your computer as you would from any digital camera. If for some reason you have failed to do this, then you would have to be able to restore from a previous backup where the pics were present ( if on exists). Otherwise they are gone. Import regularly.

If the rattle sound is loudest if you tap gently near the back camera (lens), this is normal with the iPhone 4S.

My iPhone sounds such as: Keyboard clicks, new message tones, lock sounds, new mail sounds, or any type of alerts aren't working, music also isn't audible. When I plug the headphones in I can hear everything, but without the headphone I can't hear anything except for the ringer. Why is this? Is there something wrong with the headphone port? or is there something wrong with the phone? I've had this phone since late February of 2008 and haven't experienced this problem until today. I have turned it off and on and that doesn't seem to help. Any idea what this is?

You know what, that did the trick! I think something was wrong with the headphone port because I clicked the side volume button and it kept coming up as "Headphone (ringer)" I put the headphones in and out a couple of times and then it went back to normal. Thanks for the tip!

Audio sounds Tinny upon publish

Hey there,
When publishing a Captivate4 project our audio sounds tinny. While in the project we are able to listen to the slide just fine and then when we publish that is when we get different sound. We record the audio with a Samsung mic right into captivate, crop/clip as needed and then go about our way. We add closed captioning to the session, but have not found that this is a problem. I have exported the audio to a location and to find out the .wav file is ok but the .mp3 file is tinny.
Is there any way to export the audio and import them directly over the top of the exisiting files in the project? I have only found that it imports back into the library and does not over write the files. Also, am I understanding correctly that when you record the narration that it is a .wav file and then when you publish the file it is a .mp3 file?

Hi there,
Try checking to see what the Audio quality is set to in the Project Information section of the Publish dialog box (File > Publish). By default this should be to set to 96 kbps - Near CD Quality, as shown in the screen shot I have included below.
If this doesn't solve the problem, then I would suggest that you export the audio using the steps I have included below and check to see if the audio still sounds tinny when you play it in an audio player such as Windows Media Player.
Exporting audio
In Edit view choose Audio > Audio Management
Select the entry in the Advanced Audio Management dialog
Press Ctrl + A to select all the other slides
Make sure Include MP3 and WAVE files in export are selected
Click the Export button
In the Browse For Folder dialog select a folder to export the selected audio files to
Click OK.
Click OK again to dismiss the Advanced Audio Management dialog

Live Encoding/Streaming sounds Tinny

We are using Encoder 2.5 to stream a live webcast using
H.264/650Kbps Video and Mp3 128kbps/44kHz Audio and the audio
sounds "tinny" as if we were using a low bit rate/low sample rate
profile. Anyone else experiencing this?

Please not that the iPhone uses mono channel for internal speakers, the other path that you see is not the speaker per say. It is the phone microphone. Try using headphones, you will hear both channels. If the problem still persists when using headphones, check your sound balancing in the settings. Go to setting-general-accessibility scroll down and check the slide under mono audio. It should be put at the centre for you to hear both channels ON YOUR HEADPHONES

Internal ear speaker sounding tinny/scratchy on calls

My phone has just started to act up. When I am making a phone call on my 3g, the sound from the ear piece on the phone is tinny/scratchy. If I switch to speaker phone, there is no audio problem. It appears to JUST be with the internal ear speaker. I've tried turning the phone on/off several times with no success.

There is no other insight available if none of the standard troubleshooting steps resolves it. If no change after the standard troubleshooting steps, very more than likely there is a hardware problem which will involve an exchange under warranty if the iPhone remains under warranty, or an Apple out of warranty or not covered under the warranty "repair", which pays for an exchange at a discounted price off the full retail sales price without having to sign a new contract ($199 plus tax), or contacting a 3rd party repair service for a price to repair if the iPhone is no longer under warranty.

And to clarify, these are all iTunes movie and music downloads, so there should not be a compatability issue. And no, the iPod did not come damaged from Apple, it was a hand-me-down from a friend who busted the internal speaker. But it's never done anything like this before. It just had crappy sound. And yes, the timing of the movies and music having issues is the same as the speaker dying. And no, this has NOTHING To do with music videos. I don't have any on any of our devices.

Iphone sounds control

Hi guys,
I just wanted to ask if there's any option to control the sounds of my iphone while being in a call?
Here is the situation: I'm in a important call for about 30 minutes, and during that call I'm hearing all the sounds in my ear pretty loud (not to mention the phone itself vibrates on my ear) and it really destracts me from beaing focused on the call. I would be very happy if there is any option for me to control (or mute) some of the non important sounds while being in a call. (while I'm on a important call, i dont need to hear the sounds of receiving emails, facebook notifications, Viber messages, imassages and so on).
Any suggestions?

Hey you are right, thats a solution. Just made the vibration off when silent.
I guess the evolution of that would be if you can choose whats important to get notificatified about and what not, in a specific menu.
