All of a sudden my Iphone 4 shut off amd will not TURN ON AT ALL. Ive tried everything from holding the buttons to plugging in the usb to a computer and opening my Itunes. I cant get it to turn on...Please anythoughts???
<E-mail Edited by Host>It was a very bad idea to post your email address where millions of people will see it. Expect your spam to increase exponentially, as well as the phishing attempts. It would probably be a good idea to change your password to a really strong one, and, as you have gmail, look into Google's two factor authentication.

My sons iPhone just shut off and stopped working and it's not even a year old
My son has an iPhone 4 and he was talking on it and it suddenly shut off and will now not work and is charged??? Anyone else have this problem?
Take it to Apple. There is a one year warranty on the iPhone.

IPhone repeatedly shuts off?
So since yesterday, my iPhone has been randomly shutting off. When it shuts off, it first freezes the screen and has weird lines as if the screen is messed up. It then proceeds to try to restart itself. The black screen with the apple symbol shows up, but before my phone will actually turn on, the screen gets weird again and shuts off, and then tries to restart itself over and over in the same way previously mentioned. The only way I've found to stop this cycle is to hold the power and home buttons when the phone is *trying* to power on, to actually shut it off. I then have to wait a few minutes before I can turn it on like normal again. Eventually, though, it will repeat the process.
This is a new iPhone, and I haven't found the powering off to be related to any specific apps. I haven't downloaded any new apps super recently, and I don't see the battery percentage changing drastically for no reason. Any ideas what could be wrong?I got the same problem and so has my wife. My old iphone was replaced last week with a brand new (I hope) iphone. But already during the first phone call it sudden shuts off by itself en then comes back to life again. My wife's phone has the same problem for weeks or maybe months.
Her phone does after the shutting off/down not "remember" the last conversation or only a few seconds of it. Also she sees that not all phone calls coming in or going out are registered. They do not show up on the recent call list.
now to the next thread on network problems... what is going on with Apple? Too many mistakes. Hope they can recover as after 15+ years of using Apple I hate to think of looking for alternatives...if they exists :-D

The volume on my iPhone is working intermittently (keypad tones, ringer, etc...). There seems to be no rhyme or reason or common denominator to when or why it suddenly shuts off. Any advice?
The problem is pin corrosion on pin number 21. It is ver simple to clean out. Google "where is pin 21 on apple dock connector." Then get a pin or dull needle and gently pull it over pin number 21. You won't see the corrosion on the pin or even see it come off, but it works.

See Here for
Frozen or unresponsive iPhone
The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart.. Reset.. Restore from Backup.. Restore as New...
Try this First... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the Phone Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...

IPhone suddenly turn off by itself, won't come back on
My iPhone suddenly turned off when i wanted to unlock it to check my messages(i'm really sure that it has 80%+ battery during that time),here's what i did to get it turn back on,but it still wont on:
1) I plug it to my pc (but my pc says it's an unknown device and it also says that Windows has stopped the device because it has reported problems)
2)i hold on to the home button and the standby button
3) i charged it
I tried all these steps above but it still wont come back on,please help me,i cant live without my phone! How long has it been off? I have over-heated mine before a few times... (hot car, heating pad...) and it shuts down completely and will NOT come back on until it cools down. I'm not saying this is your problem, but if it did over-heat it will come back on when it cools down.

Keyboard lights suddenly shut off
I'm a noob with an early 2011 MBP 13" i7 running Lion and I've noticed that the keyboard backlight has started to suddenly shut off randomly.
It's only happened a couple times and the last time it did I actually could turn it back on by pressing the correct button, but the time before that I had to restart the thing.
Am I crazy or is my mac posessed?Hello Dave the Revelator!
Have you checked in the System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard "automatically illuminate keyboard in low light"? If yes, it is normal. When the light sensor is receiving bright light, the keyboard lightening is switched off.

After I upgrade maverick my display will suddenly shut off but my sounds is still working. Need help on this? Thank you
Hello rodamitjr,
It sounds like your iMac display will turn off unexpectedly, but you can tell the computer is still on because you hear audio.
I found an article with steps to troubleshoot issues with displays. This article is for internal and external displays, so you can skip any steps referring to an external display. I recommend reviewing the full article, but this step specifically stands out to me for the issue you described:
Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.
You can find the full article here:

IPhone 4 shut off and won't turn on
My iPhone just shut off today, and won't turn back on. I tried charging it up, but the batter charger doesn't even get warm, so it appears to NOT charge. I'll be trying to plug into iTunes next...but this does not look good for the phone. Any suggestions or has anyone gone through something like this?
Hold down sleep wake button and home button down for 18-20 sec to restart the phone.

My iphone 4 shut off and will not turn back on
My iphone randomly shut off will not turn back on. it isn't dead, but I even plugged it in for over an hour still nothing. I already tried the home lock button and that doesn't work either
Hi there,
You may want to take a look at some of the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.
iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

If you installed the keylogger yourself and then forgot about it, remove it according to the developer's instructions. If you want to keep it, check for an update or refer to the developer for support.
If you're under 18 years old, and the keylogger was installed by a parent or guardian, talk it over within the family.
If you're an adult, and the keylogger was installed on your personal computer without your permission, then the computer may be evidence of a crime or a civil wrong. Consider the legal implications before you do anything. Assume that everything you've done with the computer is known to the party who installed the keylogger.
If the computer was issued to you by a school or employer, then you should check with the IT staff that the keylogger is authorized. Don't use the machine for personal business. If the keylogger interferes with your work, the IT staff will have to solve the problem.
In the event that the computer was tampered with by an unknown party, and you just want to clean it up, see below.
The only way you can be sure that the computer is not compromised is to erase at least the startup volume and restore it to something like the status quo ante. The easiest approach is to recover the entire system from a backup that predates the attack. Obviously, that's only practical if you know when the attack took place, and it was recent, and you have such a backup. You will lose all changes to data, such as email, that were made after the time of the snapshot. Some of those changes can be restored from a later backup.
If you don't know when the attack happened, or if it was too long ago for a complete rollback to be feasible, then you should erase and install OS X. If you don't already have at least two complete, independent backups of all data, then you must make them first. One backup is not enough to be safe.
When you restart after the installation, you'll be prompted to go through the initial setup process for a new computer. That’s when you transfer the data from a backup in Setup Assistant.
Select only users in the Setup Assistant dialog—not Applications, Other files and folders, or Computer & Network Settings. Don't transfer the Guest account, if it was enabled.
Reinstall third-party software from original media or fresh downloads—not from a backup, which may be contaminated.
Unless you were the target of an improbably sophisticated attack, this procedure will leave you with a clean system. If you have reason to think that you were the target of a sophisticated attack, then you need expert help.
That being done, change all Internet passwords and check all financial accounts for unauthorized transactions. Do this after the system has been secured, not before. -
My iphone suddenly turned off and is not turning on only when i plug in the charger... i tried getting it into recovery mode to restore it i get an error message of an "unknown error 3014" and that it can't be restored. I updated it to 7.1 not long ago and it was working perfectly. What do you think is the problem? And is there any solutions to this?
Hello there, Alyfarroukh.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps for troubleshooting your very issue:
Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694
Particularly:
Resolve communication issues
Related errors: 17, 1004, 1013, 1638, 3014, 3194, or 3000-3999. These alerts refer to gs.apple.com, say "There was a problem downloading the software," or say the "device isn't eligible for the requested build."
Check the hosts file or TCP/IP filtering, which might cause communication issues between iTunes, ports, and servers.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,
Pedro.
