My iPhone 5 sync seems to be stuck on endless loop

I just got my iPhone 5 tonight and I plugged it in (after running through the setup and everything).
I am choosing to set it up as a new iPhone.
After I clicked next on the "Set up your iPhone" wizard in iTunes it seems that the sync process has frozen or something. Nothing appears out of the ordinary when I click the home button on the phone, yet iTunes has been stuck "Syncing iPhone" for a long time now.
Any ideas? Anyone else seen this?
iTunes is the latest version.
I'm afraid to unplug the phone. I really want this stupid thing to work on this PC!!!

I've checked the "More like this" section and seems to be mostly a PC problem? I'm using and Mac though. I've also unpluged the only other USB that was plugged. Can anyone help?

    Hi altofts,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  You can try resetting and restoring your iPod nano to see if that helps with the restart loop:

My ipod seems to be "stuck" downloading of workout information to Nike+. Ipod keeps saying it is downloading but doesn't complete download, runs my battery down and my computer doesn't now recognize my ipod and I get "error" message (2005).  What can I do to fix this problem?

I suggest try getting it back to your stock iOS and forget about jailbreaking.

  • TimeCapsule backup is stuck in endless loop

    Hi,
yesterday I updated my MacBook Pro from 10.5.8 to 10.6.3. Today I tried to back up my new system on my TimeCapsule 500. Before it started it did some kind of verification, with seemed to be successful, but now TimeMachine is stuck in a kind of an endless loop. It constantly counts the items to back up, then deletes old backups, then does some "cleaning up", but instead of backing up the new stuff, it starts again with counting items. Weird thing is, that obviously TimeMachine looses contact to the volume in the step of "cleaning up". I recognized that the volume is unmounted in this step and remounted afterwards.
I'm totally lost in this. Any hint is appreciated.

Thanks for the tipp, Pondini. Did exactly as you told me and now it works,
    Yay!
even if it's a shame that all the old backups are gone.
They were corrupted, so might have been useless anyway.
Wonder what happens, when my TimeCapsule will be full again and Time Machine has to delete old backups once more. Do I have to do this hard restart again, or will it work like it should? We'll see about that.
Unless Time Machine needs to do another full backup, or perhaps a very large one, you should be fine. This was a "perfect storm" of needing to do a full backup and a "deep traversal" at the same time. We've seen that on rare occasions; why it has to repeat the "deep traversal" after deleting each backup is not clear, but at least it's rare.

Alternatively, you could put a bit of effort in and fix the basic errors. You say that you are stuck in an endless loop. That is not possible from the code that you have supplied, there are therefore two possibilities.
    1. You lied i.e. you are actually trying to run the above code, it errors and you want someone to fix it, but thou8ght that somehow implying a different error in the code would get someone to do your work for you.
    2. You Poste d code different to that which you are actuially running and your code does indeed have an infinite loop. In which case, post the code that actually runs but drops into an endless loop.

  • Stuck in endless loop after iOS7 upgrade

I backed up to an iMac using iTunes, latest version, ran the upgrade and now am stuck in an endless loop.
    Power off, restart.
Hello, slide to setup - done
    Select US region - done
Choose Wifi - have to enter network info each time
Set up your iPad - restore from iTunes backup - select restore from backup
Connected to iTunes screen - connect USB
On iMac use iTunes Devices:restore from backup:Bruce's iPad
    Select Backup, click Restore button
Brief display of iOS7 on iPad, then restart, progress bar displays and appears to indicate restore
    Hello, slide to setup
I cannot get out of this.

once u have restored from back up it will do the set up assistant as u said, when u get to the part where it asks if u want to set up as new, hit that. it will let u in and ur back up will be there. at least thats the way its suppose to work. if it doesnt u can always erase all content and settings to go back to the loop.

  • Stuck in endless loop checking for IMAP mail

My ISP that I have my domain name on for some reason is having real problems with Mac OS X 10.8.0 that weren't there before:
Dovecot Exim version 4.80 is my server.
My Drafts, Drafts Cache, and a subfolder of Drafts all are checking messages through IMAP with no end in sight after 10 minutes on the Activity dialog. Safari, Chrome, and Mail are all that are open.  They claim the server load is all of 5% load.  Would upgrading to 10.8.1, 10.8.2, or 10.8.3 help (after of course backing up)?

  • New iPhone/iTunes Sync Seems Forever

I'm just very disappointed that it's so far taken 45 minutes to sync my 16GB iPhone 3G, and all I did was add one song and re-arrange the icons from iTunes 9. I hope it doesn't do this every time I do a sync. Seems like the initial sync after upgrading to iTunes 9 and OS 3.1 wasn't that bad, but this one was a time killer.. I thought the syncing was supposed to be way faster by now..

    No Need For Follow Up.

I can click in the preferences before it closes but I can't remove it. I tried deactivating the account, but can't seem to get rid of that rule. Any ideas on how I can get this to work?

I used to have the same problem, and after checking all the log

the same one that Oracle create in the default installation. And
I was running out of space in tablespace TOOLS(It was 25M), and
that why the builder wizard was getting stuck in 0%. I, then run
the svrmgrl, connect internal and increase the tools tablespace
    (alter tablespace tools add
    datafile '/u2/oradata/test/tools02.dbf' size 25M)
I increase in 25M more. After that the wizard works the new Web
Site works, also. I and running Red Hat 6.0 and Oracle 8.0.5

  • [solved]pacman seems to be stuck in infinite loop

    Hi, All
I was trying out gnome2.20 which is till in testing.
Installation of the packages was smooth, but I could not start X after the installation.
The Xorg logs said that there was no X sever installed while the It was listed in the pacman -Q
I decided to remove everything and do it again so I did a
    pacman -Rc xorg-server
During the removal I thought of taking a backup of my xorg.conf and intruppted the package removal process by Ctrl+C.
    After copying the xorg.conf
    I re ran
    pacman -Rc xorg-server
but it seems to be running in loop.
The message printed are like(these are not the actual message as I  dun have an acces to the system)
    Kmplayer not found in database
    Kmplayer not found in database
    Kmplayer not found in database
So presently am not able to do anything (install/remove X). Text mode is working fine though.
Can somebdy suggest some workaround(deleting/adding) something from/in the pacman database. or smthing like that.
    Thanks
    Sri

I would rather try to do that with kmplayer (pacman -S or pacman -R or both).
Otherwise, the loop itself should be fixed in pacman 3.1.
But what caused the loop in the first place, I am not sure. There might still be a problem in the interruption handling.
Pacman is supposed to catch ctrl+c for exiting cleanly, But maybe it failed to in this case.. I don't know.

  • I seem to be stuck in a loop re-installing the google toolbar for firefox, since i endup at the "agree and install" page every time i reestart firefox

On my netbook, I have used the Google Toolbar for Firefox, with its handy Bookmarks access, for several years, but it appears to have become "invisible" when I open Firefox. I tried reinstalling it, and Firefox seems to perform the download, but when I restart Firefox to complete the download, itr opens on the "Start the Download" page, and the toolbar is still nowhere in sight. What am I doing wrong?

I agree with whereitis above, I hate it when options are removed (ex: the Bookmarks side panel (Ctrl-B) button missing) etc.. Firefox's major BOLD one-liner is: CUSTIMAZATION. Now to regain this CUSTIMAZATION freedom, Firefox suggest to solve this by installing the ADDON "Classic Theme Restorer". I don't want to install any ADDON to customize Firefox! I went with Firefox because it was CUSTOMIZABLE, and that is the only reason why I went with this web browser! Now, Firefox is asking me to add an ADDON to CUSTOMIZE it. What is this?!

  • Upgrade 3.6.15 won't download. It seems to be stuck in a loop.

I keep getting a pop-up message that I need to download the new version 3.6.15 for important security reasons. When I try to do it, it says "Downloading Update" with the little bar and blue lines going across and "Connecting to update Server" at the bottom, but nothing happens. I left it going once for 30 minutes. Nothing. I am currently running 3.6.13.

  • Mac Mail "Incoming Messages" seems to be in and endless loop.

When I open Mac Mail it automatically stars downloading new incoming mail messages. The indicator bar in the bottom left of the mail window indicates incoming messages 1 of 20. It seems to go for ten minutes or so, then increases to 4 of 58, then increases to 10 of 112, then increases to 14 of 197... This continues endlessly until I eventually have to force quit the application. Seems like something is corrupted in one or several of my many mailboxes I monitor with Mac Mail. What can I do to fix this?

First thing to do is never post your actual email address in the forums; you don't want to get lots of spam as a result of spambots harvesting that address.
Next, login to the web interface of your .mac account and verify how many messages are actually there, both new Unread messages, and already Read messages. Write those numbers down and then logout.
Quit Mail and go to Home/Library/Mail and remove the mailbox for your IMAP (.mac) account. Then delete any files that start with Envelope Index.
Restart Mail and wait for it to download your .mac email again and rebuild your Mail index; then check to see if the problem continues.
