My Iphone 5 touch screen doesn't respond to touch

Although I can hard reset, my iPhone 5 suddenly stopped responding to touch. Calls come in and texts, but I can't answer or open the phone since the screen doesn't respond to any touch. I am unable to get to AT&T or Apple right now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I think you have an Accessibility feature turned on. Triple click the Home button and then try to go to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn all Accessibility features off. To scroll you may have to use three fingers. If proem see:

Portion of screen doesn't respond to touch

I got my iPod Touch a few months ago and just today I found that about the top inch (almost half) of the screen doesn't respond to touch.
I can't access 'calendar, notes, etc...', nor can i scroll through my songs from the top half or hit the 'back' button.
I tried restarting it, but that didn't work. I don't know if I want to try restoring it because I don't have a backup of all my songs on my computer, and I searched on the internet, and the only PC to iPod program compatible with the iPod Touch is $20.
I purchased the iPod Touch from Amazon.com, so I'm not sure if I will be able to bring it to the Apple Store.
I am not sure what I should do. :/

Go to that website. that's where you can check if the ipod is covered under apple's limited year warrenty. Just type in the your Serial Number and the country where you live and it'll will tell you if it's still covered under the warrenty. And if it is, you can go to the apple store and complain about the problem. They might even give you a new one. hope that helped.

iPhone 6 screen doesn't respond 80% of the time. And then it will get a mind of it's own and dial people on my favorites and open apps randomly.

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.

My iphone 5 screen does not respond to touch at all

I don't know what has happened to my phone. The screen does not allow me to even swipe to unlock it. It has lines all the way up the screen of different colours. There is no cracks in the screen or anything like that and I dont recall dropping the phone. The only buttons that work are the home button and the on/off switch. I have tried to reset it but that doesnt work. Any ideas what could have happened and what I can do?

1/3 screen doesn't respond to touch.

After a waiting 2 months to get the tablet fixed in the US (and 40£ spend on postage) the battery on my touchpad was fixed.
Was very happy to see it rendering something again until I've noticed that 1/3 of the screen doesn't work when I touch it.
And it's consistent. If I move it around to portrait and landscapte modes the same area doesn't work.
The device fisically doesn't look damaged. And the image looks ok even on the area that doesn't respond to touch.
I don't think this is a software issue but I don't want to send it back to the states and spend another 40£ and two months to get it fixed without trying other options.
Can anyone help me to try out some other things?

My iphone started acting funny the other day. It would only recognize my touch occasionally and was very quick and jerky. Now I cannot unlock my phone at all, nor can I turn it off. The touch screen does not recognize my touch at all. The phone will ring and I can receive texts, but I cannot answer or access my telephone at all. I am very frustrated because I have only had the phone for a couple weeks longer than the warranty and the Apple Store wants to charge me $199.00 to have it fixed. It seems a little bit too convenient that right at the end of the warranty the phone stops working. Does anyone know how I can go about fixing this without having to buy a brand new phone? Any help would be appreciated. I love my iPhone, but I am a little disenchanted with it presently. Please help me. Thank you.

I'm having a similar problem, started yesterday with my 2G iphone
The touch screen doesn't work in a very specific line horizontally across the screen that only comes into play in certain screens:
-Calculator, the C, +/-, div, X buttons no longer respond.
-In contacts, any contact or phone number that happens to fall in that exact place does not respond (very difficult for calling people)
-In the app store I can't log in or cancel out because the 'ok' and 'cancel' buttons are in the dead zone.
-When scrolling once my finger hits that spot it stops.
-In notes I can't click on the third note down. (I'll never know what I wanted to remember on Fed 5th)
...on & on & on...
It is only an issue when the click-able icon is in this 'exact' spot, a little up & a little down & I'm fine.
on another note: Interesting how some one received a free replacement when music couldn't be purchased from itunes (above post), and someone else was told to buy a new phone when they couldn't power down... not fair.

I've Had my ipod touch 3g for about 6 days now. Everything was going well but after i synced my ipod touch, my screen just stop respond. I've tried restoring it many times and its just fail. What should i do? Could i go to the Apple store and get a new one?

Is the screen stuck at a sync prompt? As I've had this happen with my iPhone many times in the past.... It's a strange predicament that you can get into and I don't now the cause...
At times I try to connect and disconnect my device from the dock connector until the device's OS realizes that one of the jobs are stuck and it reboots that prompt. Then all is fine.
Again this issue was with my iPhone and it was a lot worse before the 3.1.2 update. It happens very rarely now, and does come back to life once the OS of the device realizes that this is occuring. Until then, the screen and power buttons are totally useless..
Very frustrating, but this is the only solution I've seen work for me.

I have warranty coverage to get a new one but the problem that I'm having is I need to restore my phone so I can send it back. When I attempt to restore it I get a message saying I need to turn off "Find my Iphone" in icloud. But I can't get into my phone to do that.
I uninstalled Find my Iphone in Itunes then did a sync but I still get that message when I try to restore.
How do I restore my phone to clear off all the data? thank you for your help.

Force it into recovery mode as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808. That will erase all your data and allow you to restore it.

Touch screen is not responding to touch.

About two hours ago, I was going to use my phone when I noticed I couldn't swipe right to enter my pass code. I tried to restart my phone, but it wouldn't let be swipe the power off option. It isn't responding to the touch, but the only thing that works is the bar that comes up when you swipe up that let's you play music (but I can't tap anything) and the bar on the top when you swipe down that shows the weather. Those are the only things that work but I can't do anything with them. Should I just wait until my phone loses charge? I've heard that resetting it works, but I don't want to risk losing anything. And I can't really back it up now. Any solutions? Also, I think I updated my phone to iOS 7.0.4 a few days ago. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Perform a reset. This will not affect data on your device. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot.

I just upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1 and after I did, my touch screen doesn't respond or work. I basically have a non-touch display... ugh I've searched this forum and the hp support for possible drivers but don't see anything. I've even tried the Win 10 Drivers Update process with no success. Any suggestions?

I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j001tx Notebook and the Touch display doesn't respond to touch after a Windows 10 update. If your computer is having problems finding and installing operating system updates, try using the Windows Update Troubleshooting tool to fix the problem. Here is a document that shows how to update drivers that are not working correctly with Windows 10. Here is a link to your driver page. I would try the section on Driver -Chipsets. Intel Management Engine Interface Driver should help. Restart the Notebook after the install. I hope something here helps you. Thanks.

Built in microphone and touch screen doesn't work

I have problems with two things, my built in microphone doesn't record anything, also I tried all suggested steps of HP support.
Windows recognizes the microphone.
The touch screen doesn't work the touch part, but the display is working good.
Also i tried to update Drivers, but looks like Windows does not recognized the touch screen, when I going to Control Panel and search for touch screen stuff, I do not see anything.
I hope you can help me to fix this.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY TouchSmart m7 Notebook and the microphone and the Touchscreen not working correctly. If you follow this document it will show you how to correct this issue on the Touchscreen.
Try following this document document on Resolving Microphone and Line-in issues for Windows 8.1.
Here is something else that might help if you need it. If you go to the Device Manager (Audio inputs and outputs)and uninstall it from there restart the computer it should automatically reinstall it for you. This link shows you the Device Manager Screen shots that might help.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
