My iPhone 5c was dropped and now it won't respond/responds by itself

Hi, so I dropped my phone(while it was in a case) about three feet to a hardwood floor last night. There's no crack in the screen and no physical damage done, but the phone rarely responds to my touch anymore and when I do have it unlocked it clicks on things by itself.
Like, it will open apps by itself and type messages on it's own.
Does anyone know what part of my phone is malfunctioning? I don't have applecare and I was hoping to just fix the part on my own.

Have you tried resetting your device: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the "Slide to Unlock" screen redisplays, see if your issue is resolved.
Cheers,
GB

  • I dropped my iPhone 4 in water and now it won't turn on at all, will i lose all of my data, for example my photos and messages etc? and is there any way you can back the phone up without having it switched on?

If you had previously been backing up to iCloud (or a computer with iTunes), you would possibly have a backup.  That said, if you can't turn the phone on, you cannot create a backup of the device now.  Sorry.

  • My iphone 4s fell down and now it won't open

Hello! So, my iPhone 4s fell down and now it won't open. I've tried to turn it on by holding simultaneously the home and lock button but nothing happens. I've plugged it in to its charger but all it does is vibrating constantly. Any suggestions?

    Could be hardware damage.
Take your iPhone in for service.

    Try this.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Just downloaded Lion and now iMovie won't respond when I try to open it. Even tried deleting the program (since it was an older version) and bought it new from the app store, but still won't respond.

Thanks for this mha007 - I can now open FF with a new profile. Can I copy my settings from the old profile or will this bring over the same problem, maybe a corrupt file. If it would bring the same problem, is there any way I can check which file is corrupt, apart from taking them over one by one?

  • TS3274 iPad was dropped and now everything is fuzzy and green

IPad was dropped. Now everything is green and fuzzy. Any idea what is wrong?

If you bought Apple Care + with your iPad take the iPad to an Apple Sptre, pay the minimum charge and get a replacement. If you didn't buy Apple Care + then you'll have to payc a higher fee for a replacement.
But your pad is indeed broken. It doesn't handle being dropped very well.
You might try giving the iPad a good hard slap on the back with your hand to see it the problem can be corrected. Yes, I'm serious.

  • HT4993 I have an app that was updated and now it won't open

I updated an app on my iphone 5 and now it won't open. How do I fix this without loosing my data on the app.

Double-press the HOME button, find the app, and flick its screen image up to kill the in-memory copy of the app. The reboot your phone by holding the HOME and SLEEP buttons until an Apple logo appears.

  • HT1550 I purchased a song from iTunes on my iPhone, downloaded the song and now it won't play?

I purchased a song from iTunes on my iPhone, downloaded the song and now I am unable to play it on my iPhone. It just keeps skipping to the next song and won't play it on my iphone but rather only on my laptop.....

    Hey pnazaryan
If the purchased content is not playing, delete the songs from the Music app by swiping at the song. Then go through the process of downloading the track again.

  • [Q] My iPhone 5 was unlocked and now its not...

    First, I live in Bulgaria!
    Details about the phone.
    iPhone 5 32GB Black A1429 iOS 8.1.1
The iPhone was brought from Globul from a guy, I brought the phone from him 23 of December 2013, and in that whole year I was using all different SIM cards,
and now when i have a shiny new iPhone 6 plus(more of that in another post) I want to sell my iPhone, but if its locked its much cheaper...
My point is is it possible for an iPhone to work with all SIM cards and then become locked?
Also I read that phone brought from Carphone Warehouse become locked to the first carrier, hows that?
    Second, I live in Bulgaria!
We don't have Apple Store and etc..
The support phone number that Apple gives for Bulgaria doesn't work.
Thank you very much in advance!
    Chris

Can I send you a PM, because I dont see an option?
Update 1: I was on a chat session with a rep and he told me that my phone is locked to T-Mobile, but the actual iPhone works only with Telenor SIM, but aside from that he told me that its not possible for an iPhone to be re-locked. All and all I answered my question myself, but still Telenor and T-Mobile have nothing in common...
Update 2: I dont want to make another reply, in your first post you said ''Sounds as if the iPhone was jailbroken by the seller to remove the Carrier lock''
Can you elaborate, as far as I know there is no such thing for the iPhone 5 and up.
I can give you my email (an the edit it) because im really interested..

  • Iphone crashed lost music and now computer won't recognize it

    Hello everyone!
So I was updating my iphone 5 (iOS 8 for sure, i think 8.1) and was adding some music when i thought i might not have enough space on my iphone. So on my iphone I deleted music and a few movies FROM the iphone, not in iTunes. My music app froze and then crashed. When i went back into the app all my music was gone except my 120 odd songs I actually purchased from iTunes. This has happened to me before and the fix was just to leave the iphone plugged into my computer and all the music would return in 20 odd minutes or so. Well after this crash my computer wouldnt recognize my iphone... some of my music came back but not even close to all (went from 5000 songs to right around 1200). Ive tried all the fixes ive read about. Restarting iphone and computer, re-installing itunes, tried a different cord, and a just about every fix possible using the device manager (i use windows 8.1). Something interesting about after it crashed was that the syncing arrows that spin around in a circle in the top left of the phone while syncing is taking place were spinning for like 12 hours after being unplugged from my computer... weird stuff. The only time I can even get my computer to recognize my iphone is even plugged in and is trying to connect is when I leave it plugged in and do a hard reset (holding down home and screen lock button) and then it recognizes it for like 10 seconds - says error code 43 and then will never reappear until I do another hard reset. I really dont know whats going on and as far as I can tell, im the first to have this type of problem, hopefully not but really appreciate any help you guys can give.

  • A glass fell on my MacBook Pro when it was open and now it won't turn on. Any suggestions?

A glass fell off a shelf onto my open MacBook Pro. It initially started making strange noises, so I tried to restart it and it froze. I then turned it off and now when I try to turn it on, the screen lights up with just a question mark and continues to make strange noises. Any suggestions on what I should do? I think it is insured so would the apple insurance cover this?

Accidents are not covered by the Apple warranty.
If the glass had water in it, you need to keep it turned off and unplugged until full water damage can be determined.
If just a heavy object, then the "questionmark folder" and funny noises suggest the image on the hard drive was injured or the drive itself injured.
I suggest getting it evaluated  by Genius Bar.  Too many variables currently.

  • Put iPhone in docking station and now it won't turn on

  • Itunes deleted all music on Ipod and now Itunes won't respond to it.

I plugged my ipod into itunes, for no apparent reason all my music was then deleted off my ipod, and now it wont respond when i plug it back in so i can't sync it, the screen goes grey with the apple sign.

You are not alone, exactly the same happened here to our ipod classic and we really need to know why this is and what to do. Is it an itunes update glitch? Is it the harddrive?
