If you've noticed unexpected behavior with your iPhone camera, start with these steps to isolate or resolve the issue:
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

That is almost always because the phone was hacked to illegally unlock it. Contact the carrier it's locked to and ask about having it legitimately unlocked. If they will not do so, you will not be able to activate that phone.

You can try generating 5V continously for 100ms in a loop later on you can make it low.

My iPhone 5s has completely locked up with the iOS8.0.2 update. PLEASE HELP!

I connected my iPhone 5s to iTunes this am and it prompted me to install the iOS 8.0.2 update, which, like an idiot, I accepted.
Now my phone has the screen telling me to connect to iTunes. When I connect to iTunes it says I have to restore my phone. RESTORE? So to keep my idiot streak rolling, I chose to restore now it is giving me an error (4005) and wont restore and my screen is still locked up and I am just sitting here....like an idiot.

There were/are some issues with Windows (PC) and iPhone. Not sure if that is past but there was an update on Windows for iCloud which was one issue also.
As long as: there is more than enough free space for the download/install/update (which with file compression may seem like a lot of wasted space), and you have backup - either should be fine.

My iMessage refuses to work on my iPhone 4. My number is grayed out under the Messages Receive At iMessage. Please help!

When iMessage is turned on, it greys out my phone number (used to be stuck at "Verifying..." but now it just says "Phone"). Only my Email is clickable but it won't let me remove it. When I go to my Message app, only Text Message-ing is an option (showing green instead of the usual blue). This applies to all my friends who are iPhone users. I've tried Network Restart, phone restart, phone hard restart, shutting down Settings, shutting down Messages, ... now what else can I do? Please help. Much appreciated.

Dear apple, I am really dissapointed with you. Around January 2013, my iPhone 4s 16GB White has hardware issues, which was the Wi-Fi grey out. I have put up with it for months, until june 7 when I decided it has been long enough, and I got a replacement. I told the genius bar what happened, and I already did the so called "steps" that apple reccommended on the site, which was reset network settings, restore iPhone. The genius bar gave me a replacement phone, so I was expecting that the problem would be over, but it isn't. It seems that it's iOS 6.1.3 which is the case of most public complaints on apple iPhone products. Not even 3 weeks after I got the phone replaced, it is doing it again, so I suspect I'm just going to get a replacement again? Unfortunately I only have until 5th of july 2013 until my 1 year warranty is up. After that, any issue I have, I have to purchase apple care. People are expecting this problem to be fixed but I don't see it being solved any time soon. This is horrible and really low, because I have been a good customer, when I talk to the people at the genius bar, I show the utmost respect I can to them for the work they put into their job, but somewhere there is a problem where something has gone wrong. Because of that, people that only have a one year warranty (which i received because I purchased my apple iPhone at an Optus outlet, once that one year warranty is up, I have to pay for a problem that isn't even my fault? That isn't how it should work, you should be fixing this problem so people can be happy customers and leave happy. Obviously you don't all know how to do your jobs, because if you did, we wouldn't have this problem. I would like a replacement phone, ONCE AGAIN. You can look for it.
If you find it, you will have it back.
If you had find my iphone activated on the iphone BEFORE it was lost, then you may be able to track it.

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting.
If this does not work, set it up as new device: Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
If still no luck, get it checked by an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple:
iPhone - Contact Support - Apple Support
