  • My iphone 4s will no longer connect to any wifi

It's been about 2, maybe 3 weeks since it's been able to connect, and stay connected to ANY wifi. It started out as not being able to find my connection at home unless I did a hard reset on my phone, and has since escalated to not finding any wifi anywhere, and if I do a hard reset the "Wifi" toggle is greyed out and cannot be turned on unless I reset again.
I have done several restores and have done every reset option in the "reset" tab of the general settings. The only time I was able to get any kind of result was when I started my restore via itunes, before I hit anything like "Recover from icloud" or whatever it said, when I tried to find a wifi access point it could find mine without fail, but ever since I get nothing.
I'm wondering if any of you brilliant people have had the same issue and if it was resolved without having to get a new phone. I have concluded that it is my phone and not my wifi access point because every single other phone or laptop in the house connects just fine, mine is the only one having issues.
    Thanks

    If it's grayed out:
Reset Network Settings - if that doesn't fix it, then Backup and Restore AS A NEW DEVICE.
If it's still grayed out, unfortunately that means your Wi-Fi antenna quit, and it needs service.

  • My iphone 4 no longer connects to the wifi, have restored it to factory settings and nothing., My iphone 4 no longer connects to the wifi, have restored it to factory settings and nothing.

Since yesterday my Iphone 4 does no longer connect to the Wifi. It recognises it, but doesn't connect. It is not the rooter, have checked that. Have restored iphone to factory settings and it still doesn't recognise the wifi connection.
Any suggestions? Is there a solution? Thanks

All Wifi networks. It recognises the name of the networks, then thinks and thinks and doesn't lauch the wifi mode.

  • My iPhone 4 doesn't connect to any wifi sources anymore (even though it used to) and regularly cuts out of service.

My iPhone is from the US and I've had it for nearly two years. I'm with optus. I know that this is not allowed to be discussed but my phone was bought jailbroken. Neither my father nor I had any idea what this meant at the time and would not have bought it if we did know. My wifi connectivity worked fine up until a month ago when it cut out for no reason at all. Since then it cannot connect to any wifi sources. Also, my phone has recently been cutting out of service 1-2 times everyday. I understand that this may due to the fact that my phone is jailbroken. However is there anyway I could unjailbreak my phone? I'm not sure if it is factory unlocked because the iPhone wasn't bought from Apple even though it is legit. So is there really anything I could do to fix my phone? It's running on IOS 4.0.1.
Please help me. I'm fifteen and I really have no idea what to do!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In settings>general> cellular do you have it  turned ON?

  • After I updated my iphone 4 to the iOS 5.1.1, I cant longer connect to any wifi/internet.

After I updated my loved iphone 4 to the iOS 5.1.1, I cant longer find any internet at the wifi? I know there is a internet connection here, im at that network on my computer, so yeah... it always worked before, until i updated.  WHAT TO DO?!
i have reset all the settings, and now im trying to reset the whole iphone.. heelp

This happened to me the same day that ios 5.1.1 came out.  I went to iTunes to sync my iPhone, as I normally do.  I declined the 5.1.1 upgrade.  Shortly after syncing, my phone started acting slow and went to the black screen where the Apple logo usually pops up.
I turned my iPhone on and off.  Then, when I tried to connect to the internet, I was told that i had no connection.  I went into the wifi screen and it would appear to look for a signal, but never could find any wifi network whatsoever.
I turned my iPhone on and off again.  When I went into Settings, the Wi-Fi option was now grayed out and the message where the wifi network name would normally appear showed "No Wi-Fi.'
I restored every possible way.  I called Apple Care and they told me to do the same restore which I already did.
Since that didn't help, I went into the Apple store and they looked at the phone, said it was a hardware issue and gave me a "new" phone.
I really don't think it was a hardware issue, as I only had my phone since February and the wifi always worked fine.  It's too much of a coincidence that the wifi was working just fine right before the sync but failed right after th sync.
What I do believe might be related to the issue is: prior to the ios 5.1.1 update, there was also a Carrier Update which I declined.  I believe that Carrier Update had to do with adding new Hotspot features.  That option was never on my phone before, but it appeared in the General -> Network tab after I synced that day.  I think iTunes somehow automatically did the Carrier Update and that somehow screwed up the wi-fi option in combination with other unknown factors.  My phone is also unlocked from Apple, if that has anything to do with it.

  • Both of our iPhone 4s no longer connects to home wifi, iPad and iMac still do.

Our home wifi appears to be working fine.  Our iPad and our computer are connected and have no trouble.  However, both my husband's and my iPhone 4s that have always been connected no longer connect.  It can see the signal, allows me to click on it an enter the network key, but then says unable to connect.  We reset our wireless hub but that did not help.  I restarted my phone and reentered the network key twice.  I'm fairly sure that it stopped working right after the most recent update.  Is anyone else having this problem?  I don't want to drain all my data down while I'm @ home.

Update, the iPad worked all morning and the second that my settings button showed that there was a new software update, it disconnected from the wifi and is now behaving exactly like the iphones.  This has got to be an issue with the new software.

  • IPhone 5 no longer connecting to home wifi after adding new iPhone 5s

I just bought my husband a new iPhone 5s and successfully connected it to our home wifi; however, now my iPhone 5 won't connect.  All other home devices will connect without an issue. I've tried Reseting the Network Setting on my iPhone and that does not work.  It first gives me a message that states it is "unable" to connect to the network, then when I try again, it says the password is incorrect (and it is not).  I'ver tried turning my router off and on again as well.  Is there a way to just set an IP address maybe?

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not help, setting it up as new device would be the next step:

  • IPhone 3G won't connect to any wifi help?

Help required my iPhone 3G hadn't been able to connect to my internet at home for quite sometime it used to be able to but know it can't and I also can't connect to any other wifi, e.g mcdonalds I would enjoy some help on this topic

Tell me something about the wireless router you use.  What sort of security do you use? Is there a shared password? Do you use MAC address filtering on the router that only allows devices with certain MAC addresses to connect?  What sort of rules and services have you allowed on your router?  If you are able to connect to other wireless networks all I can think of is that it might be a router setting that has changed.

  • Iphone 4s won't connect to ANY wifi networks

I can turn on wifi, see networks in my area but it won't connect to any. Any suggestions?

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Verify that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.

  • TS1398 iPhone 5 won't connect to any wifi

Iphone5 cannot find any wifi when searching

We tried all that and more. Ipad mini, MBP x 2, iPhone 3gs x 2 (one with iOS 3.1.3) all work fine with
Airport Extreme Gen 2 getting full bars signal. Two iPhone 5's worked fine with iOS 6.0.1. Since updating
the 5's with 6.0.2 they can't find the Airport when inches away and other times they work with 1-2 bars for
a but then drop network and can't find. I'd bet my money that Apple didn't practice due diligence again
before realeasing an update. Thousands of iPhone 5 owners have been saddled with another error to pay
for in Apples ineptness. We should get a credit for all the time we have to troubleshoot for them.
Charge $45 for a lightning adapter? We should get a rebate for stress caused by Apple?

  • IPhone 5 won't connect to any wifi networks

I have had my iPhone 5 for aabout 3 months or so. And a few days ago, it stopped wanting to connect to wifi. I have tried connecting to other wifi networks, so it's not just our router. I have also tried turning LTE off, connecting, and turning it back on. That worked for a few minutes, then stopped. I have tried forgeting the network, and reseting my network settings. Nothing is working. Thanks.

No, not yet. I've decided to just send it in to apple sometime soon.

Power cycle the Wi-Fi router/access point.

  • My iphone suddenly can't connect to any wifi :( Please help me !!

The wifi sign appears on the top left but then the circle in front of the wifi name keeps running. I've waited for a long time and tried resetting the network but it still didn't work. Please help me if anyone knows something

Some people who experience issues connecting to or even seeing there Wireless network should follow these steps.
These steps are just a guideline and its not 100% that it will fix your issue.
Mainly, if the issue persists, its possible there is an issue with your iOS settings or a hardware failure within your iPhone or iPad, specifically the Wifi adapter.
You would want to follow these articles to do a reset & restore prior to saying it is a hardware issue.
    #1: Reset: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
    #2: Restore: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
You will need to access your Admin control panel for your router.
If you have an Airport Extreme BaseStation, you just need to open the Airport Admin Utility found in Applications > Utilities Folder.
Enter your credentials and you will have access to the settings from there.
For a PC: Do NOT use the CD that came with your router. That is used for people who do not know how to setup a router properly and these settings will not be available for you in most cases.
If you are using anything other than an Airport BaseStation:
    Open a web browser:
    In the address bar, type:
192.168.1.1 (Mainly used for Asus, Linksys, etc) or 192.168.0.1 (D-link,Belkin)
How to figure out what the IP address is to type in?
    Windows:
Hold down the windows key, then press R. This brings up the run box. In that box type "cmd" (without the quotes) and press enter. In the black box that pops up, type "ipconfig" (without quotes) then hit enter. Your default gateway is the IP address for your router. It will start with 192.168.....
Take that number and put it into the address bar in your browser and hit enter. It will then ask you for a user name and password. For linksys, it's admin for both. If you have another brand, just google "default password for ******" replacing the asterisks with the brand name of the router. Once you have entered the correct user name and password, you're there.
    Mac:
1.From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.
2.In System Preferences, from the View menu, select Network.
3.Select the appropriate port. For example, choose Ethernet for broadbandconnections, AirPort for wireless, or Internal Modem for dial-up.
4.Click Advanced... , and in the sheet that opens, click the TCP/IP tab.
The number next to "Router:" is your default gateway.
Once you get into your admin panel do these setting changes.
1.On the router change the channel for the 2.4mhz band to channel 1, 6, or 11 (recommended), rather than auto.
2.Also set that channel width to 20hz only, rather than 20hz or 40hz (Auto)
3.Make sure Security is set to WPA/WPA2-Personal. Anything else will cause issues. (of course, make sure you know your password for security)
4.Make sure to Apply/Save these settings. Sometimes the wireless connectivity will go out during this change and will come back on within 15-30 seconds.
5.On the iPhone/iPad go to Settings > Wi fi > click the blue arrow beside the network > Select Forget network
6.Go to Settings > general > reset > reset network settings
7.Power the phone off and on. Connect again
