My iPhone 5S randomly deleted all my messages. I don't use iCloud & I have IOS 7.1. Is there any way I can get all my messages back?
My iTunes got updated with iOS 7.1.1. However, my iPhone still shows error (17) during recovery process. I use Windows 7

If you backed up to your computer recently (should do this automatically when you sync, unless you disabled it), then you can restore the backup. Not really worth it, unless you've got a show stopper SMS message.

For the past 2 days ive gone crazy over this! When i click the home button twice, i can see a few old messages but when i click on it, it wont lead me to them. So im guessing its in my phone still just not in messages. PLEASE help. I need those texts back!
Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears? It might help. It's not going to make anything worse.
When was the last itme you backed up your phone? If it was recently, restoring the phone to the back up may get them back.
If you have a Mac, you can try an app like Phoneview from www.ecamm.com (there are similar apps for Windows but I don't remember the names). Phone view has a trial so you could at least check if it helps.

Not supported for good reasons.
If the account is an IMAP account, delete the messages from the account's Inbox mailbox with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account, or transfer the messages from the account's Inbox to a user created mailbox stored locally on your computer's hard drive which will remove the messages from the server. All server stored mailboxes with an IMAP account are kept synchronized with the server with each email client used to access the account.
If the account is a POP account, delete the messages from the server with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account, or via webmail access for the account. Follow this by deleting and recreating the account on your iPhone. -
iphone says messages is taking up 6GB of storage, even after I deleted all my messages. What is wrong? This is preventing me from downloading the most recent iOS, not to mention numerous other things. Thanks for any help! I am at a loss of what to do.
For that much storage being taken up the only thing that can be done as of now is back the device up in iTunes and restore the iphone. The restore will also update the phone.

There is no way possible for your iphone to delete message by itself.
If your having issue with text - contact your cell phone provider as texting is a carrier feature.

You would have to restore your phone as new - settings - general - reset - erase all contents and setting.

@James - there is a Delete All option for the Trash mailbox, but not for any other mailbox. You can tap Edit then manually tap the selection circles next to each message, then tap delete. But, that's very inefficient! Your best bet is to access the mail account from a computer mail client (Apple Mail, Outlook, etc.) or a webmail interface and delete all the messages there. -

With Unity it was possible as an administrator, to delete all the messages in a user's mailbox, directly from the server (Windows). Now, with Unity Connection (8.6.1) is there a way to do the same ? When I'm logged as an administrator, I can see, for every user, the number of messages and the size (Mailbox menu) that they have in their mailbox, but what I want to do is to be able to delete all the messages for a specific user... Is it possible with CUC 8.6.1 ?

For resetting users you have the option of emptying the mailbox, resetting greetings, deleting voice names, resetting passwords, removing private lists and a number of other options you may choose. For installations where the user base “changes over” frequently such as schools this may be a nicer option. This option is also allowed for CoRes installations since it does not involve the removal of user objects from the Connection database.

All sorted! dont suppose you know how to fix another problem I have??? for weeks now, since updating to ios5 I think, for some reason every time I have tried to log onto app store it says CANNOT CONNECT TO ITUNES STORE. It's nothing to do with my computer, and I've been to the Geniius bar but they couldnt help and nothing I seem to do lets me update my Apps and even worse, I cant even buy any more. Any suggestions?
