Well, since we don't know what "everything" might constitute, I'll provide you with the most common fix for this type of issue - reset the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once it appears, the reset is taking place. The Home screen will display shortly.

Ok this is bizzare!
Thank you for your response, I went throught each and every step without any luck, even got the recovery programme, and painstakingly tried to sift through all that mumbojumbo to find what i needed. finally found the bookmark bit, but it had been fully overwritten :(, so on reading about previous ff versions, found the sqlite thingys, and they were relatively unscathed(partly written over, but saveable apparently TG), saved them to adiff drive, amongst other possibly good folders. Then looked up how to install them, and it said to close FF, and install to profile folder.
So i tried to close FF, and the original problem from a few days ago, where it asked me if 'i was sure i wanted to close this window as it has X tabs open', popped up again. This is where 'open blank page' selection was set, over 'open previous tabs'. Wanting to save that info on how to sort out these friggin files, I reset the Option to 'open previous tabs', and closed FF. After unsucessfully searching for the profile folder on my laptop, i opened FF intending to search online for where i could find said folder.
AND BANG, surprise surprise, the FF I had just closed with only tabs open about finding out what the heck to do, had disappeared, and instead my original saved tabs were up, and my bookmarks are there..... I am gobsmacked! what the heck just happened there???
I have made 3 back up in different folders now, of those friggin bookmarks. I am weary now tho of shutting it all down.... what if its back to the other pages I had with no bookmarks, tomorrow :(

okay from reading posts it seems if I transfer my backed up info from my old comp to the new one and erase my dad's phone's back up i could reset my phone and it would transfer all my old data back onto the phone, be linked to the new computer and i could proceed. Connect it to a known-good Apple USB charging cable & power adaptor, connected to a known-good power source.
Leave it connected for at least one hour.
Disconnect it from the charging cable.
Press & hold the Home Button & Sleep/Wake button for up to 30 seconds, until the Apple logo appears, then release those buttons.

My IPhone 3G will not load the home screen...

   I am having an issue with my phone. I can't get the home screen to load. I get the Apple Logo screen then it disappears and I get the black screen with a spinning beachball/gear ( like it's trying to load). A couple of days ago I had my phone in my bedroom on my night stand, charging. One of my schnauzers in the attempt to get on the bed, got tangled in the cord and pulled it off the stand onto the floor ( about a 2 foot drop ) ::note:: I do have an otter box on the phone. The phone seemed okay until this afternoon. I updated 4 apps and later I picked up my phone to call my husband and I had the spinning gear screen.
   After searching and googling a bit I came across some "fixes" One said to hook up to my PC and restore the phone via ITunes. Okay I tried this, at first I got an error saying there was an unknown error. After a few tries the phone started to restore. It comfirmed that my restore was a success and I then began a sync. After the sync had finished I was back to the apple logo screen :/
I tried this fix also ( it's been helpful for others, just not for me )
1. Connect to iTunes via USB. Do not disconnect for rest of these steps. iTunes may appear frozen or stuck with spinning beachball....this is okay, do not Force Quit iTunes. I tried a few times w/o it being connected to iTunes and it doesn't work.
2. Once connected, hold Home + Power until screen blinks then Apple logo comes back up.
3. Wait until Apple logo dims slightly (~5 minutes or less). Do NOT reboot until the apple logo dims.
4. Hold Home + Power again until it reboots and Apple logo comes back up.
5. After 2 min or so, the phone may vibrate once or twice. Continue waiting for the full 5 min until Apple logo dims slightly. iTunes at this stage MAY recognize the phone...do not sync or do anything in iTunes.
6. Hold Home + Power for the 3rd time until it reboots. Phone may vibrate again after 2 minutes or so. Eventually you'll break into your Home screen.
Still, my home screen will not load :/ Any help would be much appreciated. I live in a rural town with no Apple Store. I got my phone from an individual, would they even help me out ( Apple Store)? I'd have to drive about 80 miles round trip to get to an Apple Store. If there's a fix for this, I'd very much appreciate it

Have you tried connecting to your computer and updating via iTunes?
You may have to do a full restore to upgrade:
Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:

IPhone 4S WILL NOT load my new music!

ever since i upgraded to ios6, my iphone wont go past step 7 when i try to sync my new music,it says "determining tracks to sync" and then it will say "iphone can not complete sync because iphone has been disconnected" but its still plugged in and still registering in itunes! I have tried restoring my iphone, after about 20 minutes it will say that my phone has been disconnected (ive tried switching usb cords thinking there was a broken wire in the cord or something) so i cant even restore my phone to see if that fixes it... ive googled answers for this issue and tried everything everyone has said and i STILL cant load my music! it will show up in my library but it will be in grey lettering... CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!! i have owned every iphone since they first came out and never had an issue like this

also - i have tried deleting itunes and loading it again, retstarting my computer and my iphone, and still nothing... and if i leave my phone to try and get past step 7 (for example it was trying to sync while i posted this thread) if i go to click on itunes again it wont open itunes

1.) Hold down the Lock and home button
2.) Let it charge.
3.) hook it up to a Laptop/Computer.

1. I have an add on I wrote for my company and it loads and works great on previous versions of Firefox but just stopped working with Firefox 4. Now with the latest version it seems my c++ binary xp com component is not loading. I get this unhelpful error:

What do I have to do to get this working with both Firefox 4 and previous versions?
2. We have a shipping product that people install as part of that installation we install this add in. What is the correct way to install the addin to support multiple versions of firefox.
3. Over time new versions of Firefox will be developed and could break our users if something like this happens again. What is the best way for our users to be able to auto update this add on?
