My iPhone 5s will not take a charge any suggestions
I can't turn it on to get a serial number for support to help me, I can't call support because my phone won't power on? I can't contact support because my phone doesn't work, and I'm on my iPad mini trying to get help with my iPhone 5s but can't seem to get anyone to talk to me if I can fix the problem from home I would do it instead of driving to the apple store, I have AppleCare but can't get through to them because my phone don't work, why does Apple make everything complex for a person just trying to get there product to work proper? Now I have to take my phone to the store for repair and go out of my way for a phone that should not be in this condition and it's the second iPhone 5s this year and we're only just starting month 6 not very good odds for the iPhone 5s now is it. Should have went with the galaxy,
Inspect the charging port area for dirt or fluff buildup and clean with a toothpick or canned compressed air. Try another cable, making sure it's a certified genuine Apple product. Try another outlet or USB port. Make sure there are no bent pins in the charging area.

Up until recently, my 4s would lock after the 1 minute that I requested. I set a passcode, now it will not auto lock at all. I've checked all settings and even disabled passcode. Still will not auto lock....
Settings>General>AutoLock = set to 1 minute.
If that doesnt work then follow these steps.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All settings>Then Settings>General>AutoLock= set to 1 minute. - Test again
If doesnt work then you will want to restore the phone and setup as new, not restore from a backup - if it comes down to that repost and I can explain those steps -

Does it power on if you plug in the charger?
But to be honest I see in your description it says 'Late 2011' so there is a good chance you have warranty right, I would take it to Apple store and let them sort it out -

Does it light up at all? If not, you could have a battery issue.

Back up all data.
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again. -
I downladed a game then i bought some gold on the game using a credit card. Now when I try to retrieve the gold it says I have to verify then download it. It will not let me. Any suggestions?
I was receiving the same error message yesterday, which said There was a problem downloading "The Song Name / Album / Artist". The file seems to be corrupted. To redownload the file, choose "Check for Available Downloads" from the Store menu. The file tries to download five times before this error message appears.
I too, tried to find the file and delete it, but it was no where to be found.
So I gave up for that moment and tried again today and I was able to successfully download the file. Amazing how that works!!! -

I'm having issues with the alerts volume control.
Although I set the on/off switch in settings to ON with "change with buttons", the alerts volume will not change individually. Any suggestions?I don't mean to be rude or anything but did you check to see if it's on hold? I had the same problem, I nearly worked myself to tears trying to figure out why it wouldn't turn off! hope you fix you're problem.
P.S.-Maybe you should just let the batery run out till it goes dead, hey, then it will be off right? -

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item. -

Hard reset by holding down the home button and the sleep/wake lock button (BUtton on the bottom of your display, button you use to turn the screen black) hold them both down for 15 seconds till you see the apple reappear

I have an iPhone 3gs that is out of warranty. I purchased this phone from AT&T. Last night my phoone went completely dead (battery percentage was at 96% just moments before) and now will not turn back on. I have tried just about everything I have found on discussion boards- trying hard reset, plugging into itunes, charging for15-20 mins then holding down sleep and homebuton..... NOTHING works. This phone will not light up AT ALL. My computer wont even recognize it. Is there anything else I can do?
