  • My iPhone 5 wont connect to my itunes

    Hi every one
I posted this same problem up a few months ago and i have tried everything that people had posted and i havent managed to fix the problem. So im just going to run through it again and hope someone might come through with something new that i havent tried so here goes this is the story.
My iPhone 5 or iPad Mini used to connect to itunes fine but now have suddenly stopped for some reason. Im sure that the problem is something thats changed on my computer because it connects to an other laptop no problem so something isnt right.
Ive tried pretty much everything on the apple site that people have recomended but was just woundering weather anyone knew anything else.
I also have an iPod Nano but this has the old 30pin connector lead and heres the weird thing it connects no problem so why does the iphone and ipad not connect ??????
I have tried differnt leads and a connector which connects to my iphone then connects with a 30 pin connector and no luck .
Any help would be very grateful
    Thanks

If the iPhone connects to iTunes on another computer, the problem definitely lies with this particular computer.
The iPod Nano does not run iOS, so not a valid comparison. If you could connect an iPod Touch or iPad but not your iPhone, that would be a valid comparison.

Please list everything you have tried with no success, and which OS version is installed on this computer and the same for iTunes?

  • Iphone 4 wont connect/sync with itunes? Try this:)

My problem was much the same as others had and still have on this forum. With tips and tricks"uninnstall this and that, restart and uppgrade and downgrade!"
And by random in between all the replies, someone said: Dont bother with recovery mode, downgrade or uninnstalls. Check if you have megakey and/or megaupload on your pc. If so, just uninnstall them with controlpanel, reboot your pc, and in windows, connect the USB to your iphone4 and start iTunes! VOILA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Works like a charm.
Thanks to the one who posted it to start with. Sorry for not catching your name, but i had almost given up. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Trying to sync a new iphone 5 to my mac to get my music over it keeps telling me that the computer is no longer authorised for purchased items but it is . I have tried de authorising and then redoing it but nothing works

Hi all I am trying to swap my music over from my mac to phone but not having any luck . Although my mac is authorised it keeps saying that its not. I  have de authorised it then re done it but still the same . Not up to doing anything drastic and have heard some horror stories about loosing all contacts while messing about with back ups and cant afford to have that happen to me . Ideas anyone ??

    Hi leefromwoodford,
The following article will tell you how to transfer purchased music from your iPhone to the your Mac -
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
    Specifically -
    Transferring purchases
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod has your purchased content from the iTunes Store, you can transfer the content to a computer that is authorized for your Apple ID.
Note: This option only works for content you purchased from the iTunes Store (as opposed to content from other sources, such as CDs you may have imported). For content you did not purchase from the iTunes Store, synchronization occurs in one direction only. This means your content can be copied from a computer to your iOS device, but cannot be copied from your device to a computer.
    Open iTunes.
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer.
Enter your Apple ID and password. Then, click the Authorize button.
Connect your device your computer. If it is synced with another iTunes library, you may be asked if you want to "Erase and Sync" or "Transfer Purchases."
If that alert appears, click Transfer Purchases.
Important: Clicking Erase and Sync will delete any existing content currently on your device. The content would then be replaced with the content that is on the computer.
If you were not offered the option to transfer purchases:
After connecting your device to the computer, its icon appears in iTunes. Click the icon.
From the File > Devices menu, choose "Transfer Purchases from 'Your device name.'"
Note that the computer must be authorized for the Apple ID under which the purchases were made.
You may also want to download the music directly from the iTunes store, rather than using the iPhone. See this article -
    Download past purchases

  • My iPad and iPhone wont connect to my iTunes Library.

My iPad Air and iPhone 5s wont connect to my iTunes Library on my Macbook Pro.
Both will see the library and try to connect but as it reaches 1/4 of the way it stops.
If I turn off my iTunes Match on both devices, the full library loads on the iPhone only. I can go into the library and it will play. Does iTunes Match have to be turned off?
On the iPad, it shows the that shared library is connected to but it wont allow me to move off that screen. It freezes. I push the home button and it closes. I can reopen but it is no longer connected to the library. I cannot get further than this.
My Apple TV works perfectly connected to the same library.
I dont have more than 5000 songs in my library or more than 10 movies and 300 + episodes  of TV series.
Any ideas to what could be causing the issue with the iPad?

Forgot to mention. Have tried obvious things like rbooting Mac and iPhone and iPad with no success

  • Iphone 4s wont connect to Itunes.

I recently updated iTunes to 12 on my computer and now my iPhone 4s wont connect to the computer but my iPad Air will.
    I deleted and re-installed iTunes, (I'm running windows 8.1)
The software is updated on my phone (ios 8.1)
I've reset location and privacy settings and network settings on my phone
Restarted both the phone and my laptop
Re started the apple mobile service device
Checked that my security software isn't stopping iTunes which it isnt.
Tried all the USB ports on my laptop
I'm still using my original iPhone cable
And it still wont connect, every time i plug it into the computer it just comes up with
"trust this computer" no matter how many times i click trust it doesn't accept my phone so that i can access it.
    Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks!

  • My ipod is disabled and it says to connect it to itunes but, the computer with itunes got reset and lost everything and when i DL itunes again it wont coneect because it say i need to put the passcode in so it can connect but it wont let me putthe passcod

my ipod got disabled and it says to connect it to itunes but the computer i use got reset so it lost all the memory of itunes and i re  downloaded it and it says it cant connect my ipod to itunes because i need to put the pass code in on the ipod but it wont let me because its disable some one help me out.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

There is no such thing as an "SG3" or "SG4".  Did you possibly mean a 3GS and iPhone4?
It has always been very basic to ensure that a backup exists of your media and other important files.  Computers fail, hard drives crashes... things happen.  Do you not have a backup?  The iPhone, like all iDevices is NOT a backup of your media, but rather a mirror of the content in the iTunes library on your computer.
If your contacts, pics, etc are not on your computer, no backups of the iPhone exist, and they are not on the phone, they are gone.
No one can magically make them re-appear.
