My iphone 6 is always activating siri
My iphone 6 is always activating siri in my pocket when i put pressure on my phone, is anyone else having the same problem? There seems to be no way of deactivating siri and voice control.
If you turn Siri off, Voice Control is active. No way around that. However, you can disable Siri while the phone is locked in Settings>Touch ID & Passcode>Allow Access When Locked>Siri>Off

KykyNo. Enabling find-my-iPhone only has the feature active when the mobileme account on th iDevice receives a push notification to send it's location. Until you request it's location (via the mobileme web site or by use of the find-my-iPhone app on another iDevice) the feature is idle. It is likely taking advantage of the location database so recently in the news too - using the most recently saved wifi or cell tower locations to more quickly determine it's location when the remote request for it comes in. But it is not actively powering the GPS system all the time. Having find-my-iPhone active on my iPhone 4 has had absolutely no noticeable affect on battery life, if that was part of your concern.

Location Services: Setting Time Zone... Always Active
Just wondering if anybody else is experiencing the always active SETTING TIME ZONE setting in LOCATION SERVICES / SYSTEM SERVICES.
It's always purple - never stops polling for location.
I've noticed a change in the battery life for my iPhone 4 and I think this is the culprit.
Is that setting needed for anything in particular or can it safely be turned off?

So, instead of going from 1 to 0 devices having the problem, I've gone from 1 to 2 after the update! Isn't this the opposite of what was supposed to happen?
Letting the iPhone sleep for a while, shutting it off and turning it back on, resetting it with home+power, all do nothing. Weirdly, it *wasn't* doing this right after I did the update; it only started about a day or so later.
****Update: and now it's off again, but it did come on for about 10 minutes and then turned off again. Hmmmmm. I agree that having the status bar icon enabled is a good idea, to at least be able to see when this happens and disable it if you're in a situation where battery life matters. -

Please can someone offer me some help in sorting out issues with 2 new iphone 3gs.

Make sure the wifi you're connecting to has a strong connection. Also, it has to be set up with basic security, meaning you can't activate your phone using wifi that needs you to access Safari to sign in.
You can also always use iTunes on your computer (with a strong Internet connection) to do this as well. -
My phone always activating voice control and playing music getting stuck on the Siri screen. Help please!
Try to recalibrate your home button, to do this hold down the sleep/wake button until slide to power off appears then hold the home button until it goes away. Hopefully this will make things better.

I have this same problem, and I also have the issue that contacts are recognized only in SMS and not in receiving calls (I store my contacts in intl format - i.e. +94 xxxxxxxxx). If I store it as 0xxxxxxx then number recognition works when calling but not SMS. Of course it is an option to store both numbers, but that,s a silly workaround on a device that cost 649$ when my 40$ dumb phone can manage effortlessly.
I think the problems are connected, and that it is to do with recognizing the local country code in Sri Lanka. I used the phone in India (Vodafone in Chennai) and the number recognition was not an issue - I.e. local numbers saved in intl format were recognized in calls and SMS. (didn't try to use siri for dialing so can't comment on that) -
Time zone purple arrow always active iOS 5.0.1
Is this happening for every one? The time zone location service is ALWAYS active in 5.0.1 in both my 4S and my iPad 2.
I'm also noticing this after the update. In 5.0 my iPad 1 had the purple arrow always on, no matter what, and my iPhone 4S was normal (arrow just once in a while, briefly). Now, after the update, both have the arrow on for really really really long periods of time. However, at least on the iPad, there's a difference: whereas before the update, this was clearly running down the battery quickly, after the update, it doesn't seem to be affecting the battery much. (I read for quite a while with the arrow on and battery at 99%, which would not have happened before, when I could practically watch it tick down without blinking)
On both devices, the arrow *does* eventually turn off, but it takes a long long time to decide to do so. (Maybe an hour, even) It's annoying that whereas the iPhone had been acting "normally" before the update and it was a big problem on the iPad, now both devices are stuck with this semi-problem. Fixing the broken one would have been better than half-fixing the broken one and half-breaking the OK one! -
After i plug in my iphone 5s, it always asks me to trust the laptop, i click trust and my laptop makes that noise as if I've pulled my phone out, but i haven't, so now my itunes doesn't recognize my phone, please please help me?

Yes the phone belongs to me. It was purchased from United Kingdom Vodafone to West Africa, i had to factory unlock to use any sim in it. so it belongs to me. I did the activation myself, now after updating my iphone to the latest update, it required a user id and password to activate the phone, but anytime i enter the details, it tells me the user Id is not correct but the password is correct..
