My iPhone 6 microphone makes a noise
In certain iOS apps, my iPhone 6 microphone doesn't record any sound. I hear a noise instead. It's like the sound which comes from the speaker while being between two radio stations. This only happens in iMessage and the camera app. The dictaphone, WhatsApp and FaceTime seems to be working fine.
Anyone else has this problem?
I'm experiencing the same issue. It also occurs when my iPhone 6 is on mute.

Syncing shouldn't trouch you photos unless you have photos in a Photo Library album. These would be photos that were synced to your phone from your computer. If you do have any, you'll need to use an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your computer prior to syncing.
If you prefer to backup your camera roll photos prior to syncing, open iTunes and go to Preferences>Devices and check "Prevent...from syncing automatically". Then connect your phone to your computer and import them as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
Then, to minimize data loss, follow the steps in this user tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141. To follow the steps, first open iTunes and go to View>Show Sidebar. Also, Transfer Purchases is now located in File>Devices. -
Iphone4 microphone makes static noises while I make a call using headphones?
I have iphone 4 32GB. When I make a call using headphones the microphone at bottom-left of the phone makes static noises when it comes into contact with anything.
It is really annoying as I hear loud noises while my phone is on my pocket and I am making a call using headphones.
Could you please help what could be the solution? Is this a fault with the hardware or software?
NB: I have recently installed the latest version 5.01.

ShazI found the answer myself, I actually bought earphones from a corner mobile shop for £10. and they happened to be fake and do ot disable microphone while plugged.
so the point is buy the original earphones from apple website. -
IPhone only makes alert noises when screen is lit up
For some reason my iPhone now only makes alert noises for new emails, texts, etc if the screen is lit up. If the screen is black, it doesn't make any noise so i never know i got an email or text. Is there a setting for this somewhere?
Go into Settings > Notification Center and tap each app to see if "Show on lock screen" is set to ON (green side showing)

Satellite A350 - Microphone make strange noise
When talking to people on Skype and MSN people say that my microphone makes this strange noise. They can vaguely hear me over the noise. People say it is kind of like a gurgling noise.
At first I thought it would be a driver issue so using Device manager in windows I searched online for an update for my Realtek High Definition Audio and it told me the version was up to date.
I went from Vista to Windows 7 about 5-6 months ago, Maybe a problem occurred when i reinstalled my drivers? Any advice would be appreciated!

-Windows 7 Ultimate SP1
-Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P7450 2.13GHz
4.00GB RAM (2.99 Usable)

To be clear: Skype or MSN is not relevant for mic testing. I use Skype daily with my A300 and some people hear me good and some of them have reported that sound is pretty bad.
Can you please make a small test and record your voice on Win7?
Go to the "Start" menu. Under "Programs," select "Accessories." Click "Sound Recorder."
Check quality with internal and external mic if you use headphones. -

I am not sure if this topic has been covered in the past or not .. but here it is anyway ..
Today I plugged my phone into the wall charger and a LOUD high pitched rattling noise started coming from the speaker ... The phone is fresh OUT of warranty and I am not sure what to do ... is there anyway to stop it? I upgraded to iOS4 the day it came out ...
any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.The phone has not been jailbroken. All original. Looks like I'm on iOS 6.1.3. It apears several other people are having this mysterious clicking as well with newer models of the iPhone and across most carriers. No one seems to have a rock solid idea of what's causing the fast clicking noise or more importantly how to resolve it.

You can check the general sound volume by putting the phone to sleep, hit the power button, then double tap the home button. The volume slider comes up, drag it all the way to the right.

After i plug in my iphone 5s, it always asks me to trust the laptop, i click trust and my laptop makes that noise as if I've pulled my phone out, but i haven't, so now my itunes doesn't recognize my phone, please please help me?

my iphone 5 from day one makes a rattling noise when you shake the device.
the replacement i recieved also makes the similar rattling noise, apple calls it a "common problem" and says its the autofocus of the camera which makes the noise, but people i know are not experiencing any such noise in their evices, hence its not their in all the iphone.

In my latest conversation i have had with a senior representative of apple care iv been given an option to have anpther replacement but they cant promise me that the new replacemnt will have no such rattling noise it might be even worse.
since apple cant promise me a replacement without any such noise and my device is not even 90 days old, and since apple calls it a common problem in iphone5 is it possible that they give me replacement of 5c or 5s and il pay the difference in price or just have a refund ? since they cant provide me with a solution and keeping this device with this defect is not a solution with me.Sorry if it's over 14 days apple does not refund the device, just sit tight and keep on asking for a device that doesn't rattle, be firm but polite about your position on the matter.

It will still play my music out of The speaker. But when I get a message or someone calls me it only vibrates doesn't make any noise. And if I try and watch anything on YouTube I need to put my headphones into hear it.
Check the Mute/Silent Switch on the Side...
Have a look in Settings > Sound...
