Thank you for your reply, I did go to my general settings, but for some odd reason I don't have a restrictions setting, or a reset setting. I thought I could reset all the setting to see if it could be that, but as I said there aren't any.
My husband also has the iPad 2, and also did the software update and hasn't had any problems at all. I took both iPad's and compared the settings thinking maybe there could be a setting that could have been changed when the update was done. -

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

I have exactly the same with my iPad. All i have now is the connect to iTunes picture. I have run the diagnostics in itunes (under help menu) and it says that neither my phone or iPad are connectted yet they physically are. I have gone into device manager and it says there is a software connection problem. I am trying another pc to connect my pad. Update - connected ipad to my netbook with latest itunes version and it is carrying out the update. that means this laptop has a software comms problem with USB.

My iphone 3gs will no longer let me try passcodes and it only says "Iphone is disabled connect to itunes" well, when I connect it to my laptop, itunes says "could not connect to phone because it is locked with a passcode. you must enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes" Please help!!! My child has put in the wrong password on my phone multiple times, my iPhone now say "iPhone has been disabled connect to iTunes" When I hook my phone up to iTunes, iTunes then says that my iPhone can not be hooked up to iTunes because it has a password on it, but will not allow me to put in a password because the disabled message is still showing. What is the next step?

I updated my iphone 5 today and when it finished it said to connect to itunes. But I have a new computer and have not synced my phone using the new computer yet. Now my phone won't even turn on. Any help would would be appreciated. Thanks
If it was showing the connect to iTunes screen it is in recovery mode and must be connect to a computer with iTunes. Recovery mode erases all content and settings so there is nothing wrong with using another computer. If you have a backup in iCloud use that to restore, or download the apps and songs you had on it.

You may need to put the iPhone into recovery mode for it to be recognised by your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the phone and resync your content to it.
If you are doing it via a computer that you don't normally sync it to then (from here) :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
