My iphone bought in india won't work in HK

Hello - this isn't for iphoto but for iphone - unfortunately i can't find an email Id to send this email toon the website and I'm really tired of trying to get help
I bought my iphone in India less than 2 months ago - with airtel.. I've just moved to Hong Kong and it wont work here coz its locked to india networks
i called apple HK and they said that my service provider in india - airtel, my cell no is 98182 84312 - will be able to unlock it but airtel can't do it

so what do i do? pls can someone help me so i can start using my fab iphone again??

Airtel in India can provide authorized unlocking, according to this linked kbase article. They are the only ones who can do that (Apple cannot, no one in HK can). You need to try contacting Airtel again.

My iPhone 5s TouchID scanner won't work

I recently bought the iPhone 5s and have been using TouchID, it has been working fine up until today. Fingers I would normally use to unlock my phone(my left and right thumb) no longer are working. I keep getting a "try again" message even though I scan my print using the same way I always have. I deleted my fingerprint afterwards and tried to make a new one and I keep getting a "Failed Operation" message. I tried restarting my 5s and that hasn't worked either. Everything was working fine in iOs 7.0.1 and 7.0, not sure if that will affect anything. Any help Apple Community?

Apple TV bought in Canada won't work in USA. Why?

I bought an Apple TV and used it for 6 months in Canada. When I moved to Phoenix, Az and turned it on the Apple TV won't stream Movies or TV Shows (also, netflix won't work). What can I do in settings to fix this?

Settings>General>iTunes Store> Location, not sure for netflix. It should still work though for stuff you already own. Worth a quick look as a first check.

If it's an unlocked phone, yes, you can use any compatible GSM carrier.
The two supported GSM carriers in the US are AT&T and T-Mobile.
You can look at their web sites for information on available plans and rates.

The iphone is a world phone, compatible with any GSM network. Where did you buy your phone? Perhaps your phone is "locked" to a carrier network other than what's available where you live.

My iPhone cannot connect to iTunes. It says I need to update to 11.0.5 to use iTunes with my iOS 7 iphone 5 but still won't work, any ideas?

I just downloaded and updated to the new iOS 7 software today for it's release. But when I plug my phone into my usb and then into my macbook, it won't work on iTunes. It says it's not compatible and I need to update to the latest iTunes which they say is 11.0.5. When I go online and download the iTunes installer and download the new update, it works out fine and I don't seem to have any trouble with it but as soon as it opens iTunes when the installer finishs, the mesage about compatibility comes up again even though I just updated to 11.0.5. If anyone has any idea, let me know! I'm hoping that maybe it's just a glitch with the new iTunes that needs to be fixed up?

Thank you for your question. iOS 7 requires iTunes 11.1. First, I recommend trying to obtain the update by going to the iTunes menu and selecting Check for Updates.

i had bought an iphone 4 last month in India and now I am planning to go to Dubai (UAE). so do i have to get it unlocked ? If yes, then where can it be done, Apple service centres??

It should work and be unlocked, however if you bought it alongside a connection already ther in the pack, say vodafone or airtel, then you need to get it unlocked. You may try checking it by inserting some other carrier's sim and see.

IPhone 6 voice memo won't work

Hi,
Just bought and sync'd my new iPhone 6 and everything has worked so far except my voice memo app. Two issues:
1) When I open the app all of my memos start loading, then the app closes on it's own.
2) When I reopen the app, voice memos are gone and when I push the red record button, it wiggles a couple of times and then...nothing.
Thoughts or suggestions. And yes, I've done a power cycle.

Potential solutions:
Try going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings and see if that makes a difference. You will need to set up some bits and pieces again after, but it won’t delete any files or photos.
Some owners found it was caused by an old backup. If you are restoring from a backup you made with an older iPhone, that could be the problem. Try setting the iPhone 6 up as new, factory reset it, and then put everything on it manually, and you might find that the problem is gone.
If it persists, then you may have a hardware fault and you should contact Apple or head into an Apple Store to get it looked at. They should replace it for free if there’s a problem.

My IPhone 4 lock button won't work....

For the past month, my iPhone 4 lock/sleep button has been really hard to push. I wasn't to worried until just an hour ago it stopped working all together. I try pushing it and it won't click, push down or anything. I've always taken good care of my phone by keeping it in an otter box, not dropping it, and it's never had water damage. I would take it to the apple store, but the nearest store is over 2 hours away... So is there anything I can do do rig it to work? Or even is there an app? Like how they made an app for people who's home buttons stopped working? Any help would be very much appreciated, thank you.

well the same home button feature you speak of can sort of be enabled for the lock/power key: Enable Assistive Touch: Tap SETTINGS, General, Accessibility, AssistiveTouch (near the bottom) and tap AssistiveTouch to ON. You will now notice a small dark square with a circle in the middle (you can move this square anywhere). Tap the dark circult to open the assistiveTouch menu, then tap Device and tap and HOLD the lock screen icon. This will bring up the iPhone's Power-Off slider - no need for a power button any longer!

My iPhone 5c rear camera won't work and the led light doesn't work either

At first just snapchat wouldn't work and then I tried my actual camera and neither camera worked. I turned it off and on again and the front facing camera works but the rear facing one doesn't. Snapchat wont use either one. Then I pulled up my settings bar thingy and the led light button is all greyed out. I rebooted my phone and it did nothing. Im not sure what to do, help please!

Set it back to factory settings without using any backup data. If the camera does not work after that, you'll have to get the phone serviced.

Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone restarts itself. If still problem, Restore iPhone Firmware with iTunes on computer. If still problem, you may need entire new front screen assembly on your iPhone, because the digitizer (touch) is faulty. If you have Warranty or AppleCare Coverage, make Genius Reservation and take iPhone to Apple for resolution.

I just updated my iphone and my apps won't work

I just updated my iphone to iOS5 and now my apps don't load. The screen blinks but nothing else happens. I tried rebooting but that didn't work.

I'm also having the same problem. Supposedly you need to remove the app from your phone and retrieve it from your computer. I haven't tried it myself. Just started reading posts and finding the best solution. It also might just be a case that the app itself has not been updated to the new iOS. Only time will tell I suppose.

HELP! I cannot sign in with new password on Imac but the password works on Ipad and iphone through icloud.... Just started eysterday after the status problem listed on the i cloud page.

I am having the same problem, starting today (12/15). Here's a more complete description of my problem.
About two weeks ago, I changed the email address associated with my Apple ID. The old address had been taken over by spammers, so it had to go. I followed the procedure in Manage My Apple ID, and everything seemed fine until today.
I am running Yosemite, 10.10.1 on an elderly Macbook Pro (2009)
I got a message saying I couldn't access iCloud and needed to log in in System Preferences. I tried logging in with my then correct password. After 3 tries I was locked out and told to use iForgot to reset my password. I used my recovery key and reset my password "successfully". My new password allows me to log into iCloud.com, iTunes on my Mac and on my iPhone 6, I am able to use my iCloud keychain on both devices, and I can log into Manage My Apple ID with the new password. I was also able to use the new password to log into iCloud on my iPhone. Access to iCloud drive from Pages appears to be working on my iPhone, but not on my Mac. I was also able to sign into the App Store on the Mac.
However, in System Preferences, I cannot log into iCloud and I cannot log into my iCloud mail account (both appear to use the same login). I get a message saying I have been blocked for security reasons and I need to reset my password. This is exactly the state I was in when I went and changed my password so it appears that the change didn't get communicated to system preferences. Without iCloud access, my apps that use iCloud for storage and/or syncing with iPhone apps are of limited usefulness. This may be key to the problem or at least a clue: System Preferences still thinks my Apple ID uses the old email address not the one it was changed to. The only way I know to change the address is through Manage My Apple ID
I tried rebooting by doing a full shutdown and restart, but it did not help. I also tried cursing at my Macbook but that did not help either.
I can use iCloud.com for mail and Documents since it recognizes my password. But this is at best a temporary work around. I'm off to check other sources for help. I'll report back when I know more.
