My iPhone calendar and iCloud sync only one way

My iPhone 4 (iOS 5) calendar and iCloud sync only one way -- from iCloud to the phone. Any ideas why I can't sync from my iPhone calendar to iCloud?

When you add an event on Iphone, 3rd fields down from bottom, select calender > iCloud. Voila!!
I am not sure everybody understand really the intention with iCloud. It is one single calender residing on a Apple server somewhere. Selecting iCloud from any device will show this calender. Then how to sync this with other calenders is to me a mystery, or not possible, especially on Lion iCal. Please anyone.

I'm a new iPhone user, longtime Mac user. (iPh 5, iOS 6.1.4 iMac 10.8.5) Calendars are on iCloud. If I enter an event on my iMac calendar, it shows up on my iPhone rapidly. The reverse does not work - events entered on the phone do not show up on my iMac. No obvious setting difference - what am I missing? Thanks.

Calendar and Contact Sync: Force one way only?

Is there any way to force Outlook to always be the sync "master"? i.e. regardless of what I do on the touch (say, delete a contact), when I sync, the touch will be forced to match Outlook (and replace the contact)?
Or is that the default behavior, and I have some other issue?
I have had a couple of instances of appointments being deleted from Outlook during the sync (I think the "do not sync appts older than 30 days" really means "delete" them in outlook")

You are able to export your contacts and import them to your Gmail account. Below is a very good post that will provide you the steps to export the contacts using Backup Assistant and then import them to your Gmail account.

Please note, you must have Backup Assistant on your device to be able to export the contacts.
In regards to the calendar, you can view other calendars by following the steps listed below:
1. Select the Calendar icon
2. Select Menu
3. Select More
4. Select Calendars
5. Select the calendars that you want to display

i just synced my music to my iphone 5 and i have only one playlist but when i sync my music to my ipad i have other music on there that i don't want right now i just want my christmas playlist folder that i have playlists cause on my iphone 5 i just have one playlist which is christmas music playlist folder that has playlists in it which is what i only want on my ipad right now thanks

Here is what I did:
1. Connected my iPad to the computer.
2. Opened iTunes.
3. Pressed Music Tab.
4. Pressed the Selected Playlists, Artists, Albums, and Genres
5. Then in the Playlist box below I only have the Christmas music folder checked and all the playlists in that folder checked.
6. Then I Synced my iPad
Here is a Picture of my iTunes of what I'm talking about and then also here is a picture of my iPhone 5 music that has only one playlist folder with playists in it

I want to know how to sync only one way because there are some photos from our previous apple devices and I don't want those photos to appear onto my new one when I sync to put the photos or videos onto the computer. Does anyone know how to do it without messing up the system?

The photos are now on your computer and you don't want them on your new iPad?
Then move this photos on your computer to another location (folder) first and then sync.

That sucks. DropBox can.
We want to SYNC literature down to sales reps and not have the sales reps accidentally erase from the Cloud for all. Hence we want a one way SYNC to have them SYNC literature onto their computers for remote
access to the files.
Surely SharePoint cannot be that far behind DropBox.
Is there no way to achieve that?

Why is Mail rule syncing only one way?

Odd. I've got a Mac mini and an iMac, both running 10.8.2, both with iCloud syncing Documents & Data. Mail on the mini has rules -- created on that machine -- for SpamSieve that are not syncing to the iMac; in fact, both rules disappear every few days and I only notice because spam starts piling up.
On the other hand, changes to Mail rules on the iMac are synced to the mini. The mini has been running Mountain Lion for five months; the rules only started disappearing after I upgraded to ML on the iMac last month.
Any ideas on why the syncing is only one-way?

The calendar is syncing from Outlook to Ipad from my personal folders. However, the calendar is syncing to Outlook in a hotmail calendar in the profile that I didn't know existed. How do I get it set right.
I tried to select the calendar. However only one calendar is available in itunes. It must be the correct calendar as it is syncing fine. So how do I get ipad to sync back to the personal folders calendar instead of the hotmail calendar in my profile?

ICal sync only one-way

Lion OS on iMac. Syncing using iCloud. An iCal event entered on iPhone will show up on iMac iCal, however, an event entered on iMac iCal will not show up on iPhone. Events enetred on phone or iMac DO appear on web iCloud.
Address book contacts (also synced with iCloud) work both ways, it appears to be only iCal events eneterd on iMac that do not show up on iPhone.
I have checked to make sure all cals are visable, and all sync settings are on.
Ideas please.

First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

Ovi syncs only one way

I want use the online Ovi Calendar (calendar.ovi.com) which seems pretty nice.
BUT... it only syncs from my phone to the internet! If I add an appointment on my phone, it appears on calendar.ovi.com. but if I make an appointment on calendar.ovi.com, it doesn't appear on my phone!!
This is so annoying.. Nokia has a lot of these fails.. argh they NEED to FOCUS on this stuff!!

try to resend the synchronization settings to your phone and synchronize again
try to go under manage your device>remove your device>then add your device again>then sync again
try to go under Manage calendar and check on your settings

Ipad 3 is syncing only one way with outlook 2010

I am seeing calendar items that I add in Outlook 2010 added to the Ipad. However, appointments added in Ipad are not being added to Outlook.
I have not checked contacts (All were added to the Ipad).But I have not tried adding a new contact yet.
Is this normal behavior? If not, how do I get it to work properly?

Calendar syncs only one way

Just got into iCloud. Calendar from iMac went into the cloud calendar without problem. Adding new event from iMac or MBA goes t the cloud canendar without problem. However, the entry from MBA doesn't show in the iMac canedar nor does the iMac entry show in MBA calendar.
Uff Da!! While I was typing this both showed up. That's about 45 minutes after I entered them. Is that delay expected? The new events showed up almost immediately in the iCloud site calendar but it took the 45 minutes to get into other device calendars.

My "refresh calendars" said "push." No idea what that means but I changed it to 5 minutes. Interestingly, shortly after sending that I tried again and the response was about 3 minutes. I live in the country, telephone and ISP service sometimes erratic. Perhaps the problem is between me and the main digital highway? Well, anyway that's an easy way to pass blame without much chance of being called on it.
Fred, the boat is on jackstands, covered in snow. Will be moving her to Bayfield (Apostle Islands) next spring. Hope for lots of mini cruisiing.

I have a problem coordinating my iPhone5 contact list. I have my iCloud contacts on my outlook but they don't sync with my phone. I signon to ICloud on my PC and the contacts are a combination of all sources...I want what is on my Outlook iCloud directory but am unable to sync it...so frustrated

When I add an appointment to my iphone calendar and then sync it with the icalendar on my laptop the item in my iphone calendar becomes uneditable. It means I can't alter an appointment when I'm out and about which is annoying. How do I fix this?

Have you checked your iPhone>Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Calendars>Default Alert Times settings?

Apple, please fix Calendar, iCal, iCloud, Sync and let us work...

There're so many errors and bugs, please redo it from the start an do it right. Don't you have enough resources?
Have you guys seen how many discussions are about iCal, Calendar and iCloud, sync service, '403 error', 'There was an unexpected error with the request (domain (null) / error 0)', 'The server responded: “403” to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation' , etc, etc.??
Don't you think is enough? At least Mobil me used to work fine..
I don't want to offend anybody but I bet there are some users out there sick and tired of these things...

I'm going to pile on to the iCloud iCal and Reminders implimentation. I'm still using Snow Leopard so I did a work around with setting iCloud up as a CalDav account. But why is it that between my iPhone, iPad, iCloud.com and my MacBook Pro that iCal on my MacBook is the only place where I can see my events and ToDos on the same screen? I can almost understand on the iPhone, but with the iPad and iCloud interface there is plenty of real estate.
I don't know how any body can use the iOS and iCloud tools to effectively manage thier schedules. As it is I am using third party iOS apps and google calendars and tasks.
