My iPhone calendar receiving another's events

In the past week, I have had someone else's calendar events begin appearing on my iPhone's calendar. (We will call this phone "IPHONE #1".) While I got this iPhone used, the person I bought it from does not recognize any of these events, and so it isn't a sync from their calendar.
Here's where I am thinking this may have came from, and I want to fix it ASAP. I had another iPhone that I recently sold to a friend. (IPHONE #2) I had it previously synched with my itunes Apple ID, but before I sold it to him, I thought I did a security wipe. The strange entries on my calendar include names of my friend's family members, but some of the info he is posting is embarrassing and I would rather NOT tell him I have seen any of his private notes. Any ideas?I want to stop this without him knowing I have seen anything thus far.

See this support document for help with that. iCloud: Remove your device from Find My iPhone
If that does not work, you will have to work with the individual to get it removed. You need to make sure they are not using your iCloud account.

How do I sync my iPhone calendar without getting duplicate events posted?

This is ridiculous!  I bought an Ipad 2 to help keep up with my appointments etc and now it wont sync my Yahoo calendar appointments that i made from my iphone.  I have tried all the suggestions I can find and nothing is working.  I don't have time to go back and add it all by hand a second time.  Please fix!!!

  • How can I sync my iPhone calendar with another iPhone using iCloud?

Must each iOS device being sync'd with another use the same apple id to sync using iCloud?

Yes.  Both devices would have to use the same Apple ID under Settings > iCloud, and have Calendars turned on.
However, you can use another service (I use Gmail) to sync a shared calendar without having to use the same Apple ID.
My partner and I share a joint Gmail account, and have it added to our iPhones, and have the Calendar option enabled.  Whenever I want to add an event to the calendar, I just temporarily change from my default (iCloud Home) to the Gmail.

  • IPhone calendar is deleting my events

The calendar on my iPhone 4s has been fine so far, then today I added an appointment, went back into calendar to check another date and noticed all previously entered appointments (even future ones) were gone.  The one I entered today is still there as well as a random appointment from March 8th, but all others are missing.  I had a bunch scheduled for today and they are all gone now.  I have my phone set to sync all events and beyond that I don't do anything with the calendar as far as syncing, connecting, or anything else, besides adding new events.  How can I get back my previous appointments (events) that are now missing?

    Hi Tina214,
The specific steps for troubleshooting Calendar app on your iPhone are list in the article below:
    iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3999
If you are having trouble with the Calendar app on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch) and iCloud Calendar, try each of these steps, testing after each to see if the issue is resolved:
Make sure you've updated to iOS 5 or later and that your iCloud account is configured correctly in Settings. For instructions on setting up the iOS for iCloud, see iCloud Setup.
Make sure your iOS device is online. Attempt to view www.apple.com and iCloud.com in Safari. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud calendars and events will not update in your Calendar application. Click here for more information about troubleshooting your internet connection.
Open a secure website from your iOS device to test if you are online as is necessary for iCloud Calendar. This also tests if ports 80 and 443 are accessible. Calendar requires port 443 access to iCloud in order to push and pull updates to and from the iCloud Calendar servers.
If recent changes simply don't appear in Calendar, try forcing a refresh by tapping Calendars in the top-left corner of Calendar to load the Calendars list. Then, tap the Refresh button in the lower-left corner of the Calendars list window.
If you add new events on your iOS device, but they do not move to iCloud or other devices, you may want to verify your Default Calendar settings. If you would like to create new events in a specific iCloud calendar, then set that calendar to be your Default Calendar. You can modify the Default Calendar settings in iOS at Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Default Calendar.
Quit and restart the Calendar app on your iOS device:
    Press the Home button.
Double-press the Home button to open the multitasking menu.
Tap and hold the Calendar icon until it jiggles.
Tap the "X" to remove it from the list.
Press the Home button to get back to your Home screen. Wait a minute before reopening the Calendar app.
Restart your iOS device by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and then swiping the screen when prompted to Turn Off. This may sound simple, but it does reinitialize your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.
Change the Sync settings for your calendars:
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Scroll down to the bottom.
    Tap Calendars > Sync.
If sync is set to All Events, set it to a specific duration, such as Events 1 Month Back. If it's set to a specific duration, set to All Events.
Wait several minutes and try Refreshing Calendar again.
Turn iCloud Calendar off and back on:
    Tap Settings > iCloud.
Tap the Calendar slider off. Choose to delete data only if your data exists at icloud.com/calendar and/or one or more of your computers. Otherwise choose Keep Data.
Wait a few minutes before turning the Calendar slider back on.
Hopefully, these steps will resolve your issue ...

  • Ical keeping both events when I move events from one google calendar to another

    Hi all!
I use multiple google calendars and sync them with my iPad, iPhone, and MacBook Air. I like to move events from one calendar to another (for color coding purposes), and am coming across a unique issue that I hope someone has a solution to.
When I edit an event by moving the event from one calendar to another the events show up correctly on the iPhone and iPad, but not in my iCal on MacBook Air. (Only when I make the changes on my iPhone and iPad). For example, when I switch an event originally created in my 'appointments' calendar to my 'done' calendar the event shows up appropriately on iPhone and iPad, and even in my Google calendars on the web. But, the iCal on my MacBook Air keeps both events. This only happens when I make the changes from the iPhone or iPad. If I make calendar changes on my computer, then there are no hiccups on any of the devices.
It seems like a syncing issue with iCal, and I can't figure out how to prevent the duplications in my iCal on my computer from showing up. Quite annoying because I have to go in and delete all of the duplicated events on the computer at the end of the day.
I have the Mavericks OS on my MBA and the software on my iPad and iPhone are updated to the latest software.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know! Thanks!

    Petrill,
Thank you. I was trying to do that yesterday, but it was grayed out. It seemed to work alright today.
    Thanks,
    Sheena

  • Outlook/ IPhone calendar syncing issue - adding one hr to EST.

Is there a fix for syncing Outlook 2003 calendar and the IPhone 4s? It continues to add 1 hour to the phone calendar - I have synced it both ways with the Time Zone Support on and off still no change...this is getting frustrating...any help?

I am having this problem also. It happens with re-occuring events. The Outlook calendar is correct but the iPhone calendar is changing the events by one hour. I have tried the fixes suggested elswehere regarding changing / setting the timezones but as the OP stated this is not fixing the problem.
    Apple please address this.

  • IPhone Calendar sync broken

Since a few weeks I only see one iCloud calendar on my iPhone.
I checked: all my devices use the same [email protected] address, and in iCloud.com I can see all my calendars.
However on my iPhone 4 running iOS 7.1 I only see one calendar from iCloud. I tried a few things without success (each time I got a different calendar on my iPhone, but always only one):
disabling iCloud calendar, reboot, enabling iCloud calendar, reboot
removing iCloud account, reboot, adding iCloud account, reboot
factory-resetting iPhone and restoring from iCloud
Any tips what I can do to get all my calendars on my iPhone?

  • Calendar Items Show on iPhone Calendar Then Disappear - Reappear

We have deployed about 25 iPhones in our enterprise. All are running v2.1 and are 3G. One user (on same Exchange server as the rest) cannot see his appointments on his calendar. Upon further review, they are there! BUT, if you look at the month, week or day view they show, then 3-4 seconds later disappear. Then 3-4 seconds later re-appear!! In a loop over and over. We have gone through 3 different iPhones now it happens the same each time.

    Hello everyone,
I seem to found a solution! I was having this same issue yesterday... events appearing, then vanishing just as quickly. I suspected it is a sync issue with an event on the exchange server. This is what work for me:
    - Exported my calendar from Entourage/Outlook (or make sure you have a recent backup).
    - Deleted all events (so there is now no events on the exchange server).
    - Double check there are no stray events remaining on the server.
    - Open calender on iPhone so it looks to the server.
(All events should now be purged)
    - Now import your backup/exported calendar back into Entourage/Outlook
    - Make sure all events now appear on the server again.
    - In iPhone calendar settings turn Exchange off then on again. (I also restarted iPhone, home button and power button.)
    - Finally open iPhone calendar so fetches Exchange events (this will take a while as it's starting afresh).
Everything is behaving itself now. As I said above I suspect it was getting confused with an old or stray event on the Exchange server that wasn't visible in my Entourage.
Good luck! Do let me know if it works for you all. Dan.

  • IPhone calendar event issue- not synching across iCloud

Events created on my iPhone will not sync across iCloud to display on my Calendar App on my iPad or on my laptop.
iPhone 5 iOS 8.1.3 - this started yesterday with no changes having been made to any of my iCloud settings.  On my laptop I get a new icon displays in my doc - see attached image, but when I click on it it just goes away and the new event is not synched.  If I don't click on this icon, it eventually disappears and the event is also not added to my calendar.
I Can create events on my iPad and laptop and have them show on my phone.  I can create Notes on my iPhone and they sync across devices.
I have tried changed the iPhone calendarsync settings from 'Events 1 Month Back' to 'All Events' and vice versa.  On the iPhone I have turned Off synching of calendars, waited and re-enabled synching.  I have cycled power to my iPhone.

Thanks Sterling - I've read through both those articles and performed all the troubleshooting steps in the iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar - Apple Support article.  I have verified bluetooth is on, I'm on the same wireless network, same iCloud account signed into on all devices, etc.
Still new events entered on my iPhone do not get added to my laptop or iPad calendar.  The handoff icon shows in my doc, but it does not put the new event onto the calendar.
Through some more testing, I have also found the same issue with reminders; if I create one on my iPhone it will not be displayed on my laptop or iPad.
Again I have no problems creating these on my laptop or iPad and having them show on All my devices, including my iPhone.  And another family member can create them on their iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.3 and they come across to all my devices; laptop, iPad and my iPhone5.
Please advise what else I can do, as not being able to create events or reminders on my iPhone and have them sync across devices is a problem.

  • I want to see events on my iphone calendar that I had from a year ago, but my events only go back 6 months even when I go into settings and put all events

I want to see events that I had a year ago on my iphone calendar, but they only go back 6 months and if I go to settings and choose "all events" then nothing shows up as an event!!

Are your contacts stored in an MS Exchange server, in iCloud, or some other source? Setting the Sync to less than All Events should not delete events, but only stop showing them on your device. However, Outlook also has a setting to actually delete events older than a certain date. Have you checked that?
If you log in to iCloud.com (and you are syncing with iCloud) what do you see? Whatever is there is all you can get on the iPhone, unless you can restore from another source.
I also suggest enabling iCloud Backup (settings/icloud - Storage and Backup). This will create a new backup any time your phone is connected to power and WiFi, so you will always have a current backup, painlessly.

  • IPhone calendar alerts continue after calendar events are deleted

I had several recurring events in iCal on my iPhone which finally came to an end.  I deleted the events, but the alerts continue.  Every day I am receiving alerts for events which are no long occurring.  How can I delete these alerts.
I am using an iPhone 6 (iOS 8.1.2), but these events were created last year when I was still using an iPhone 4.  I sync my phone to a MacBook Pro (OS 10.7.5) over iCloud.

Just to add to Doug's post...
I'm on the same system - syncing between my iPhone (4) and iCal on my Mac via MobileMe.  Never had any problems when I was phone iPhone 3, and not sure when I started getting this problem with my iPhone 4 (may have been when upgrading to new MobileMe calendar), but I am not getting pop-up alerts which I have set up in iCal on my iPhone.  They do pop up on my Mac desktop, but not on the iPhone.  The thing is, when I go into Calendar on my iPhone, all the events that I created in iCal are there to be seen in Calendar on the iPhone, and when I select one of those events, all the correct information (including the alerts) are there to be seen.
So the information all appears to be correctly in the iPhone ... and hence I would not have thought it could be a syncing issue.
But come the time for that alert to pop-up on my phone and it just doesn't do it.
I have checked other issues mentioned, like the time zone.
... I've just applied the fix suggested by diana1953 (but in my case applying MobileMe where she has referred to Google Calendar / Gmail) and it seems to have worked on the test event I set.  Thanks.

  • How do I delete events in my iPhone calendar?

I wish to delete calendar events directly from my iPhone.  Please help.

The problem could be events linked from another application like Facebook. In this case tap the "Calendar" icon at the bottom of the screen, then uncheck links from outside calendars.  If the event is one you created, tap the edit icon at the top of the screen, then scroll all the way to the bottom and tap the "Delete this event" icon.

  • Iphone and Ical on mac do not sync anymore. All my events are in the iphone calendar! How do I backup iphone calendar, and how do I fix the syncronizing problem?

After getting iCloud the iCal on my mac does not sync with my iPhone calendar. All of my calendar notes are in my iPhone (while the mac's Ical remains empty) so I need to backup the iphone version. How?
Itunes says that "your calendars are being syncronized with iphone using icloud" - but the mac's ical does not show any of the new events I have added on my iphone.
I would like to install the new update on my iphone, but I am afraid to do it without knowing that I will be able to restore my iphone calendar. I have made calendar events for many years to come, I and will not risk losing them!
I have been looking for tips online, but the solutions usually suggest that I backup the ical on the mac and start fresh using this version. In other words overwrite iphone calendar with the ical from the mac. Which is not an option. What can I do?

Moments in Photos are the new Events, i.e. groupings of photos sorted by date taken.
When the iPhoto Library was first migrated to Photos there was a folder created in the sidebar titled iPhoto Events and all migrated iPhoto Events (which are now Moments) are represented by an album in that folder. To open the sidebar if it's not already open use the Option+Command+S key combination.
There's a way to simulate events in Photos.
When new photos are imported into the Photos library go to the Last Import smart album, select all the photos and use the File ➙ New Album menu option or use the key combination Command+N.  Name it as desired.  It will appear just above the iPhoto Events folder where you can drag it into the iPhoto Events folder
When you click on the iPhoto Events folder you'll get a simulated iPhoto Events window.
The downside to the simulation is that the Albums/Events can only be sorted automatically by Title. But they can also be sorted manually, either in the sidebar or in the folder's window at the right.
Ask Apple for more sorting options in Photos via https://www.apple.com/feedback/photos.html.

  • TS3999 When I add events to my calendar on my mac, they do not show up on my iPhone, however; when I add events on my iPhone, they do show up on my mac... why do they not go both ways?

When I add events on my iphone calendar, they show up on my mac, but when I add events to my claendar on my mac, they do not show up on my iphone, why not?

Is this calendar labelled On My Mac or iCloud in the sidebar?

  • How do I get my iPhone calendar events to show up on my Google calendar?

I have an iPhone 4s. When I add a calendar event on my Google calendar it shows up fine on my iPhone calendar. I can delete that event on my iPhone calendar and it deletes it on my Google calendar so I know there's a "link." BUT, when I add an item on my iPhone calendar it doesn't show up on my Google calendar. I've tried waiting 15 minutes (the refresh time for Fetch) , and refreshing the calendar page but no luck.
    Help?
    DWM

That response would work save one detail: This is my work phone so I get meetings and such added via corporate email, etc. Those go by default to my iPhone calendar so I was hoping there was a way to just sync everything that ends up on my iPhone calendar to my Google calendar.
    Thanks for the reply.
