My iPhone can only display and play purchased songs after updating to 8.1.3
After updating to 8.1.3, all of my songs refuse to even show up on my iPhone if they were not purchased on the iTunes store. I should have about 5 gbs of music on my phone but I only see 7 songs I purchased from albums in the iTunes store. I tried synching to iTunes, re-adding music, restoring it. This was not a problem until I updated the iOS. How do I get this fixed?

ok this is really weird but my iPod mini won't play ANY of my purchased songs after 2 days of use. Then I have to hook it up to my comp and buy another song or download and then it will play the purchased songs. my mom has an ipod mini and doesn't have this problem. whats up with it?
thanks!finally someone with my same problem, it has been solved though! what you do is you hook the mini to comp and then clik on the mini in source list, play purchased song, and then it should work

ITunes won't play purchased songs after upgrade to 8.1.1
For 6 years this forum has been incredibly useful in solving problems with my various Macs, but now I've run into an issue I can't solve just by reading about the misfortune of others.
After upgrading to 8.1.1 this evening, I am no longer able to play any previously purchased iTunes music. I end up stuck in the "loop" described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389. Unfortunately, the remedies described in the article are not working. I have de-authorized and re-authorized my computer twice, restarted several times, checked for an "SC Info" folder in my /users/shared folder (don't have one), repaired permissions, and even downloaded and played the free single of the week from the iTunes store (at the suggestion of another post), all to no avail. There are no other accounts on this computer other than mine, and I do not share my library. IPhone can't find the right back up after updating software
I updated my software a couple of days ago and backed it up 3 times just to be on the safe side. After updating and trying to restore from back up, the correct back up I made on that day is not showing up. So, now my phone is empty, all has been lost!
I went onto iTunes and pressed view, preferences and device and I can see the back up on there which is the one i'm after but it won't let me do anything with it. I have been to my local Apple store, but they are always too busy to give all their attention to you. They ran diagnostics and it said that the back up had been successful, but said they did not know how to help me recover that back up and should just look on google for solutions
Does anyone know how I can recover the back up, as I had all my contacts, pictures, messages, apps, etc on my phone
Thanks in advanceI figured it out. When I click on the Australian flag on the bottom right of the Home page, I can access the normal home page with music and movies you can search for. I tried the search window after clicking music and the normal songs and albums came up when I searched an artist's name.
I tried purchasing a song but it came up with an error message (I think) in Korean so it looks like I cannot purchase while I am in Korea. This really annoys me.
The Korean iTunes store does not seem to be operating properly. Search comes up with just podcasts and interviews and no songs or albums.
Even after accessing an English language iTunes store you cannot buy because once you click the buy button it comes up with a Korean page with blurb that one cannot understand if you do not speak the lingo. It doesn't look as if the purchase was successful. I am not going to even try again possibly risking buying something and not even knowing I have bought it (as I do not read Korean). Anyway the one time I tested, it didn't look like it was successful. Forget about it. It looks like I will have to find another way to buy songs. If I am to use the iTunes Store I have to wait to move to an English-speaking country. Thanks Apple for nothing! -

My iphone 5c is only playing songs that I have bought on iTunes. My phone is skipping over any other songs and having them appear as though they are currently playing. It started doing this a week after I updated my phone to ios8.

Seriously, check your settings and volume. I just tried it on my 4S and it works fine.
Go into Settings, Maps and check that the volume is on. Also check to make sure you have not muted the phone somehow. -

This is for BETA 7.
Here is a simplified version of my problem.
In my application root view controller , the user presses a 'Start Wizard' button and they get modal view controller A presented which contains a 'Step 1 Complete' button. When that 'Step 1 Complete' button is pressed , ModalVC A dismisses itself and delegates an "I'm done" event to the root view controller , which presents another ModalVC B to the user with a 'Step 2 complete'. So basically imagine a Wizard of Modal View Controllers. Try to make one, it doesn't work.
The problem is that MODALVC B doesn't get displayed. It almost seems that when ModalVC A dismisses itself from the parent , this does not go in effect until the main thread goes back into its message loop for a redraw or something and it ignores the subsequent 'PresentModalViewController : nextcontroller' call.
The only way to make it work is to have 2 buttons ('Do Step 1' and 'Do Step 2') is the root view controller and have the user press them individually. Of course that's not what I want.
Message was edited by: Maxm007Yes , most of my application uses the navigation bar. The problem is that the two modal views involved are are used separately throughout the application quite frequently. In this specific case I want to reuse them , but consecutively.
If I do choose to go for a navigation bar for this case , then I'd need to have two versions of these two views , one without and one with my custom toolbar , wouldn't I?
I'll definitely try the queued posting. Do I use NSNotification center or is there another way to asynchronously post an event? -
DC7700 can't detect and install sound card after update to Windows 7
I've been trying to get the sound on my HP DC7700 Ultra Slim desktops to work for a few months now (I'm a teacher at a high school, so I have about 100+ of them to take care of). I've upgraded them from XP to Windows 7, and the computers no longer recognize the sound card.
I have tried installing the Realtek driver from their site and HP's, I've tried updating the UAA architecture as suggested in other posts here and here.
In device manager, all hardware has been detected and correct drivers have been installed, including PCI and chipset drivers.
Randomly, ONE DC7700 with a unique hard drive worked. I painstakingly checked every single driver installed and found the two that were different:
"Realtek High Definition Audio" under "Sound, video and game controllers"
"High Definition Audio Controller" under "System devices"
Pictures of the driver details for both are posted below.
I am completely at a loss as to how to accomplish this successfully, and I appreciate any help. Our school is depressingly poor, and without sound videos are completely useless to them.

Try reinstalling W7 on one of them that doesn't have audio.
On that model, W7 should be installing a generic HD audio driver that works and then you can install the Realtek HD audio driver either from the dc7700 support page or the latest one from Realtek.
You do not need the MS UAA Bus driver, because that is only for XP.
UAA is included native to Vista and newer versions of Windows.
I do not recommend you install it in an effort to resolve the issue.
I have worked on dc7600's dc7700's and the newer Elite 8xxx models, which all have the Realtek HD audio chip.
Never had a problem getting the sound to work right from the upgrade.
The HD audio is the driver that Windows installs natively.
The Realtek HD audio driver is from Realtek. -

Any update will cause problems for a few users. And those users will rush here and post "the sky is falling" stories about their experience. The 99.99% of people who have no problems after an update won't bother to post here; indeed, most of them don't even know ASC exists. FWIW, I had no problems with iOS 7 on my 4S. Your problem is most likely not related to iOS 6, but you should probably update anyway. It sounds like the songs have either not yet synced over to the iPhone, or something went wrong when attempting to sync to the iPhone. My recommendation is to uncheck the "Sync Music" checkbox.
Once you have done that, recheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes once more. This will instruct iTunes to completely remove all music from your iPhone, and then copy the files once more. If you have a large amount of music, this initial sync may take a while.

I cannot play purchased songs in iTunes v11.0.1.12 or sync them to my iPhone and the songs are no longer available for downloard in iTunes store (so, I can't delete and download them again).

I download audiobooks to Overdrive console, then all parts are transfered to iphone 4s with IOS 7.1. Files can be found and played on phone only with spotlight. I think the audiobook in question was in the WMA format, though, and was converted to MP3 in iTunes and then transferred to my phone, now that I think about it a bit more.
There is a program/app for the computer that can play liason between phone and computer, rather than just using the app on the iPhone. That could be contributing to the issue here.

You made a purchase and exhausted the credit on your card before it processed. All purchases are final. Contact iTunes Store support. You need to settle up before you can purchase or download anything else.

Thank YouYou should have read the warranty/support terms before you made your purchase. Had you, you would have found that iPhone warranty/support is only valid in the country of original purchase(except for the EU where warranty/support is EU wide). In your case, your warranty/support is only valid in the EU, as you have now found out...after your purchase. And, you are correct, they will not service the phone in India.

I was attempting to update iphone 4s today, laptop went flat during the last stages. The iphone now only displays USB cord, with an arrow pointing towards iTunes emblem. iTunes will not accept/read the iphone. HELP??
If you have the latest version of iTunes you should not have to download the ipsw file separately as jalp suggests. iTunes will download it automatically.
This error (9) most often means that your antivirus or firewall (or router) is blocking access to Apple's servers. In rare instances it can also mean that the phone was hacked (or "jailbroken") to unlock it. If this is the case you must do a DFU restore, not Recovery Mode, as follows:
Reboot your computer
Disable your antivirus and firewall. If you has Kaspersky you may actually have to uninstall it, as it can never be turned completely off.
Connect the USB cable to a USB port directly on your computer, not to a hub. DO NOT connect the other end to the phone
Disconnect all USB devices except for mouse, keyboard and iPhone cable.
Launch iTunes
On the phone hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time for EXACTLY 10 seconds, then release the SLEEP button but continue holding the HOME button. The screen should be black. If it has an Apple logo this means you held both buttons too long. Release the HOME button and do it again.
While holding the HOME button connect the free end of the cable to the phone.
After a short while iTunes should recognize a phone in "recovery mode" (iTunes doesn't know the difference between DFU and Recovery modes, but the phone does)
Release the HOME button and don't touch the phone or the computer until the process completes or you get an error message. Ignore any displays on the phone.
If the error recurs the phone was probably messed up when it was hacked. This is not a hardware problem, or if it is, it isn't one you can fix.
You can try repeating these steps with a different computer and a different cable. If that fails also the phone is probably not repairable.
