My Iphone couldn't be restored.

Hi, I'm not so sure either my iPhone has been restored or not because when I pressed the button on the top of my iPhone and it was shutted down and when I tried to switch on it turned to blank. I tried to restore my iPhone but after i did it, it appeared "THE SIM CARD INSERTED IN THIS IPHONE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE SUPPORTED". I sent it to the carrier's store but they said I have to upgrade it to 3.1.3 because my iPhone is 3.1.2 but they said I have to wait for the version because we don't have the version in Malaysia. What should I do? I need help..

Your carrier was mistaken - all iPhone updates are universal - designed for all countries that sell the iPhone. There is no true to the statement that 3.1.3 is not supported in XXX country yet.
From what it sounds like, your phone was not officially unlocked by your carrier. If this is the case, then the 3.1.3 update relocked the phone to the original carrier in the country it was manufactured for. There is no legitimate way to unlock the phone.
If this is incorrect and your carrier does sell unlocked phones then the carrier should be able to correct it.

    plz i need help

The only legit source for ios 6 is from itunes.
    Open itunes, connect iphone.
Does it prompt you to update?
How did you update to 5.1.1 three days ago? There is no legit way to do this at all.  You can ONLY update to the latest available which was ios 6 three days ago.

Spent hours trying everything suggested and finally this morning hit on a solution. iTunes must be run as an administrator. Even though you are logged into your PC as an administrator, using the iTunes shortcut does not make you an administrator in iTunes. I found this out by using the diagnostics in iTunes and reading through the results report.
I am using Windows 7, so I clicked the start button and right clicked on iTunes and selected "Run as an adimistrator". The first restore attempt got the 4013 error. I then did the DFU thing, hold power and home buttons for 10 seconds, release power and continue holding home for 10 more seconds.
iTunes gave me the restore message and I clicked it. I clicked the restore iPhone button and it started. The drivers loaded a couple of times. I got the apple logo with the progress bar and this time instead of disappearing, it started to fill in.
End result, a successful restore to factory settings and a happy 14 year old.
    Hope this helps others.

  • The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error has occured (3). How do I fix this?

I had a problem with my iPhone 5 connecting to my service provider (verizon) and also to the internet just minutes after I had used the internet to browse before work this morning.  I tried soft reset, hard reset, and connecting to my computer, but nothing worked to get it back to normal.  I decided to do a system wipe and restore it as well, but I get that error: "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error has occured (3)."  I googled that and searched for literally 7 hours without any luck.  Any and all help is appreciated.  Thanks!

This has just happened to me today. I have an iphone 5 on Verizon. I was using the internet on the device normally when it started. It couldn't access any online data even though it had 4 bars of service and LTE. I restarted it and it would be stuck "Searching for network". I tried wiping the phone with no luck. It gets stuck at around 99% of the firmware restore process and hangs there for about 25 minutes before itunes gives me the error described above. I tried the recover-mode restore with the same results.
I need a working phone ASAP, this is extremely frustrating!

Error 1015: This error is typically caused by attempts to downgrade the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch's software. This can occur when you attempt to restore using an older .ipsw file. Downgrading to a previous version is not supported. To resolve this issue, attempt to restore with the latest iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch software available from Apple. This error can also occur when an unauthorized modification of the iOS has occurred and you are now trying to restore to an authorized, default state.

Error 13 and 14: These errors are typically resolved by performing one of more of the steps listed below:
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including a different USB port directly on the computer.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
Try a different USB 30-pin dock connector cable.
    Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your Registry. If your default packet size is set incorrectly it can cause this error.  Contact the manufacturer  of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance.

  • The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1015)

I have had a huge problem since yesterday evening.
I can't get my iPhone to work.
First I tried to install firmware "iPhone11_2.0_5A240dRestore.ipsw".
That worked until I started the phone, I got a purple screen and couldn't get in to my iPhone.
So, I thought, "fine lets get the old firmware in place instead by restoring with: "iPhone1,11.1.4_4A102Restore.ipsw". I get the same message everytime after the restore is supposed to be done:
"The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1015).
I have been searching for a solution on internet and tried about anything. I still got the same message.
Please, if anyone has anything to contribute with, let me know.
    /John

Modifying the baseband is is not something the iPhone software supports.
This is the warning when you update the iPhone:
"Apple has discovered that some of the unauthorized unlocking programs available on the Internet may cause irreparable damage to the iPhone's software. IF YOU HAVE MODIFIED YOUR iPHONE'S SOFTWARE, APPLYING A SOFTWARE UPDATE MAY RESULT IN YOUR iPHONE BECOMING PERMANENTLY INOPERABLE. Making unauthorized modifications to the software on your iPhone violates the iPhone software license agreement, and the inability to use your iPhone due to unauthorized software modifications is not covered under your iPhone's warranty."

  • HT201210 iPhone 4s cannot be restored after IOS 7.0.2 upgrade

My iPhone 4s prompted me to upgrade to IOS 7.0.2 today.  After I initiated the upgrade the phone went to sleep.  When I tried to use it, it displayed the "connect to iTunes" message; once connected to iTunes on my iMac, I got messages that it detected an iPhone that needed to be recovered.  I tried several times, trying suggested ideas each time -- I upgraded to the latest version of iTunes on my iMac; I pressed both the sleep and home buttons til the apple appeared and then tried to restore -- but none worked.  iTunes seems to have lost the name of my iPhone.  First time I tried to restore the device list on the left listed its real name but subsequent tries displayed only "iPhone" and I got messages that it couldn't be restored due to an unknown reason with a code 4013.

I'm having the same problem with my iPhone 4, stuck in a boot loop, and each time I try to restore, I get hit with message 3014 when it starts 'Restoring iPhone Firmware".
I have rebooted several times, updated all software, redownloaded the ios file several times over etc, but still phone unable to restore, stuck in the 'connect to itunes' mode.

  • IPhone could not be restored an unknown error occurred (1)

HELP! I don't know what happened. Today I woke up and found the phone repeatedly rebooting itself. I couldn't do anything with it so I tried to put it to recovery mode and restore it. But every time I do so, it says "iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error has occurred.(1)

Again, from the support document that I provided for you.
    Check for hardware issues
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
    Common errors: 1, 10-47, 1002, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1000-1020.
Make an appointment with the Genius Bar at Apple, or your Authorized Apple Service Provider. This is a hardware error. You have attempted the restore more than twice, so follow the directions, contact Apple.

    @hesbond
Do you have alternative devices that uses iOS 8 like on iPad/mini or iPhone? If yes, do this.
    Step 1
    - Sign out all your icloud accounts in any of your devices and computers
    - Make 1 device (iPhone or iPad) that will lead all of icloud keychain request. Make sure your phone number is existing too.
    Step 2
    - I prefer iPad or iPhone (iOS 8), and sign-in using your default account
    - Check if the keychain is off, then turn it on
    - Once it on, configure to create new 4 digit code. Again, do not use the old. Create new code.
    - Fill up the phone number and your iCloud password.
    - Your device now enabled the keychain and will approve any request from other device.
    Step 3
    - Go to your desktop, System Preferences > iCloud > Keychain (will noticed, it is unchecked)
    - Click Options and request approval, Do not "Use code".
    - Once it done, Go to your device (iPad or iPhone), approve the request by filling-up the password
    - Your keychain is active on your desktop.
    * Do the same thing on Step 2, if you would like to have your desktop as your default request approval from all devices or leave it in your phone.
** If you change phone number, make sure to update your keychain.
Hope this help. And I figured this out just today, Dec 16, 2014 : 10am (Philippine Time)

  • I recently replaced my iPhone 5s and had restored it but most of my apps are no longer there in the restore , also it comes up with the other iPhones icloud when updating the apps ?? please help

i would like to know how to get all apps back , also to get the other icloud account off my iphone ?

If you restored the backup from iCloud, it will automatically re-download all your apps for you on its own.
If you restored the backup from iTunes, you have to manually download all the apps back from the AppStore.
Never heard of such issue with iCloud before but you can sign out of all iCloud account starting with,
    Settings>iCloud
    Settings>Messages>iMessage
    Settings>Facetime
    Settings>iTunes & AppStore
    Settings>Game Center
Turn off home sharing on your phone if its on. Then sign in back to each one of them with your apple account.
