A couple of other possibilities:
The CD is dirty / damaged / suffering from "CD Rot" - sometimes CDs may seem to play fine on a CD player (or using the CD-player function of a PC) but will not transfer correctly to a computer - this is the result of the way that CD players auto-correct the datastream from the CD where PCs, when reading the audio CD as data, do not.
Enabling the error correction function in iTunes import may alleviate if not fully resolve this
Use an alternate tool to extract the audio from the CD - Exact Audio Copy is probably the best out there, as it can be configured to attempt multiple reads of every audio sample on a CD to get a consistent result. Then import the resulting files into iTunes.
You don't say whether this is specific to one CD as in the original poster's case, but the "crackling" symptom has affected a significant number of users of the 64-bit version of iTunes 12.1.0.71 - these are mostly addressed in the most recent update (12.1.1.4), but if nothing else works it may be worth trying this alternative installer: iTunes 12.1.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)

So, I was running today with my iPhone in my pocket when later I noticed that I had no reception from it. On the top left corner where the "bars" of connection is supposed to be, a NO SIM icon appeared. I never had this happen before. So, I restarted my phone (hold down top and bottom buttons to force manul restart) and the reception bars appeared and things seemed to be normal. Then in about 2 hours later, when I was calling someone and mid discussion, the NO SIM icon appeared and my call was cut off. It was the same problem as before. I had to restart my phone again. There was nothing wrong about the recpetion in the area, I had LTE on, so nothing should be wrong with that part. Something possibly happened when I was running with my phone, but now, I dont know how to fix the NO SIM problem and how to get my phone going back to normal without restarting it so many times. Go to a phone store for your cell provider and ask them to replace your sim if that is not pos for you you can try cleaning the contact patches for your sim
Turn the phone off ( not just standby) use the tool that came with your phone in the pin hole in the sim tray on the side of your phone. With a pencil eraser gently buff the contact patches on the sim replace and restart -
iphone has been in recovery mode for 4 hours and hasn't come back to the home screen and how can i fix this and get it back to working order?

I have a problem synching calendar data between my iPhone 3GS iOS 5.1 & Outlook 2007 on MS7. The basic calendar data transfer is OK but the birthdays (little box icon) are a day early & cannot be changed to the correct date. The birthday entries in my Outlook contacts have correct dates.How can I fix this?
The following peocess corrects the calendar entry:
edit the contact & change the birthday, save the change; edit the contact & change the birthday to the correct value, save the change again. The calendar entry then displays on the correct date. Alternatively as a temp solution I can just de-select the "birthdays" calendar which stops the icon being displayed.

For the last year I have been unable to use my iPhone speakers because of some bug. I can play music and audio through headphones, but that's it. And just today even the headphones became spotty. I'll play a song (through iTunes) for a while, then the audio will just cut out. I can get it back by unplugging and replugging the headphones (sometimes multiple times) but that fix doesn't last long; usually within a few minutes (if not much sooner) the music cuts out again.

Unless you had enabled Find My iPhone on it before it was lost then there isn't any way to locate it (it can only be turned on directly on the phone, it can't be done remotely). If you did enable it then you could try locating it either via http://icloud.com on a computer or Find My iPhone on another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or Find My iPhone disabled on it.
If you think that it was stolen then you should report it to the police. You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc. -

I have a PowerBook G4 with a non-functioning monitor. It used to work with an external monitor, but I reinstalled the OS, which cleared the display preferences and now when I restart it won't detect the external monitor. This means I can't use the computer anymore. How do I fix? I tried using the Command+F2 keyboard shortcut, but it doesnt' work. It's possible that since I reinstalled the OS, it still needs to be set up, so there's only a welcome screen (but since I can't see it I'm not sure).

It seems the SIM requirements for this situation are different for the 2G. From that document...
If you no longer have the SIM that was used with the original iPhone, and the original iPhone displays the "Connect To iTunes" screen, contact your carrier to get a replacement SIM.

When I first got my iPhone 4s and was setting it up, it added all the photos that were on my MacBook. I want to take these photos off, but the only way to do that is to go through the iPhone on my laptop. But, when I connect my iPhone via USB my phone shows up in iTunes, but not on my computer. Not as a desktop icon or as an external drive. Please help me figure this out!! I really need to put these photos back on my computer and get them off my phone. Thank you to anyone that can help!!

I had the same problem after updating to iOS 5.1. I was never able to fix it. I did however find a work around and that was to delete the offending Wi-Fi configuration and then under "Other" manually add back my Wi-Fi connection. This solved the auto re-connect problem. I don't think this is a fix but a pretty darn good work-around.
I talked to Apple about this problem while arranging for a replacement phone (for another problem) and the Technician seemed to be aware of this quirk and suggested that my fix was about the best I could expect.
HOWEVER - when I received my replacement phone not only did the problem that I exchanged the phone for now function correctly but the "Auto-reconnect" of the Wi-Fi worked as expected and as it did prior to the iOS 5.1 update.

I find it hard to believe that the viewers in Windows are not handling EXIF correctly - wouldn't non-iPhone people also experience it? All you hear about is the iPhone rotation issue.

3rd party photo viewing applications such as Picasa Photo Viewer and Photoshop Elements Organizer do honor the orientation info.
