My iPhone doesn't charge

Good day All
Since 3 weeks ago, I found something new with my iphone.
First, I had to plug, unplug and plug the lightning cable into the phone to make it charging.
Somedays after, I tryed to plug it a thousand time but nothing happens. When battery was completly low, I pluged the lightning cable and leave it for a night. In the morning, I found that the battery is 40% charged.
What's wrong???
Thanks in advance

iPhone 5, cable and wall adapter are all covered by the 1 year Warranty. Make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send all these components to Apple for resolution under Warranty. The Genius will be able to determine what the problem is and fix it for you.

Plug it into a wall outlet, & while plugged in, reset it: Press the Sleep/Wake button & Home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.

Iphone doesn't charge when using hotspot, even though it shows the thunderbolt sign. What to do?

But it used to be fine before as I use hotspot through usb,so it used to charge at the same time but for past few days its not been charging at all and it charges really slow like it would only charge 40 percent in 5 hours or so.

  • My iphone doesn't charger doesn't work all the time

I've had the iPhone 4s since about 3 months after it came out. Just recently, the charger doesn't always work when I go to charge my phone. Sometimes I blow on it and sometimes I have to plug and unplug it a few times before it starts to charge. Is this problem with my phone or is it the charger itself? Someone help! ... also, this has happened with my computer charger as well and I know it's not the outlet's I use because I've been to multiple locations where this problem has occured :/

I had a similar problem, and other answers allude to the kind of solution that works. What was rather annoying for me was that, by deleting a few apps, the iTunes display suggested I should have plenty of room. Furthermore, the error message included the bizarre phrase "the required space is 1.26MB but only 126MB is available": yes, more space available than needed by a factor of 100!
What seems to be the case is that the sync does not necessarily remove everything you specify for removal before copying things on that you want  on the device. Therefore, even if you have enough space for what you intend to have on your device at the end of the sync, it won't help if the space is insufficient to copy at least some things on in the first place. So I actually solved the problem by deleting one of the apps on the iPhone, which was an app I was going to remove anyway. In general (on iOS 8), go to Settings | General | Usage | Storage then choose something you are happy to be without.

  • My iPhone doesn't charge anymore what should I do?

I tried 2 of my iphone chargers and my phone just keeps showing the battery but is not showing it charging. I also tried using my mom's radio when you can put your iPod or iPhone on and it won't charge either what should I do?

Try cleaning the connector on your iPhone.  Look for and remove any lint or debris in there.

  • IPhone doesn't charge when it's turned on

I got a slot for iOS 7 from a friend a month or so ago. A couple of days ago, it randomly wouldn't charge when it was on. It has slowly gotten progressively worse. It now only charges when it's off.  When it turns on, all I can do is let it die and let it charge up again (so I get 3% of use per power up). Big problem now, wish I thought of it earlier. My computer isn't recognizing the iPhone at all (even in DFU). I restored it and can't even get back on iOS 7 due to the dreaded activation error. I created an Apple service appointment but they won't service it since iOS 7 voids warranty if you're not a registered developer. What should I do? Or am I SOL?

    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable
    - Try another charging source
    - Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.

  • IPhone 6 rapid charging feature?

    Hi,
In an online article I found this:
"The iPhone 6 has a similar rapid charging feature, according to reports. Like the Note 4, that feature only works when you use compatible cords. Unfortunately, the iPhone doesn't ship with a compatible cord. If you want rapid charging you need to purchase a new cord, use the one that came with an iPad or plug your cord directly into a newer Mac that supports the feature."
    It was from this article:
    http://www.cio.com/article/2842882/android-smartphone/6-things-galaxy-note-4-doe s-that-iphone-6-cant.html
Does the cord make a difference?
Using the AC charger for an ipad seems to charge our iphones faster than the iphone charger does (10 watts vs 5 watts, if I'm not mistaken), but is there a cord that helps speed up the process?
    Thanks

An iPhone doesn't charge any faster with an iPad adapter. The phone's built in charging circuit determines the charging rate, not the adapter or the cord. It WILL charge faster with an adapter than it will using most computers because computers USB ports typically can supply only 0.5 amps, while the Apple adapter can supply 1 amp. An exception is late model Macs, which can supply 1 amp at the USB ports. The rest of that article is pure hokum.

  • HT4623 My I phone doesn't  charge? I s not the cord is the device on the phone doesn't work.

My Iphone doesn't charge, it is not the cord is the device not workig in the phone. How I can I transfer my memory from this to another comp.?

Thanks for your response! Resetting the SMC does not change anything.
More information: I used another MagSafe charger and it worked with the battery connected, like nothing happened. I run the apple hardware test and it showed that everything is ok! I would replace my MagSafe adapter, but except that it works fine without the battery, it also works fine on another macbook pro. I am confused! Any more advice please??

  • Why does my iPhone 4 not charge correctly?  Problem is definitely with the phone and not charges or chords.  Phone will charge but very slowly and no icon comes on.  Computer and iTunes doesn't recognize it a being connected.

My iPhone 4 quit charging correctly.  It does charge but very slowly and icon doesn't indicate it as charging.  I've checked cables and charges and the problem is definetily with the phone.  My car stereo no longer recognizes it as a device.  Neither does the computer.  The real strange thing to me is that when I plug it into my old klispch speaker dock it will play songs.  My battery life is good when it is charged so I don't think its the battery. I've tried resetting the phone and cleaning the charging port.  I'm out of warranty.
Would disconnecting the battery possibly reset it from some glitch or is the charging port got some bad contacts?

I checked with the Genius Bar.  It was a new dilema to the lady that was helping me.  She took it to a back room and worked on it but it came out the same.  She gave me some options for repair or credit for replacement.
I just kept the phone and put up with slowly charging it by plugging it in and then turning it off.
I couldn't transfer anything from itunes.
I finally got fed up and bought a new charging port for $10. and a toolkit for $3.  I looked up a video on youTube for the replacement and did it.
That solved all the problems, it was the charging port, must have been some bad pins or something because it patially worked.

  • Can you use the same charging cable for both an iPhone and an IPad or are they different?  When I use the charging cable for my iPhone on my Ipad, it doesn't charge.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • My iPhone 4S keeps turning itself off when I still have battery life and then it doesn't charge?

It's only just started doing this and it's really annoying me now!! Ha
I'll charge my phone up overnight then a couple of hours into the next day the battery wil be down to about 20% then it will say I only have 10% left even though I will have 20% if you see what I mean? And then to top it off it turns itself off and won't let me recharge!!
It did happen to my iPad the other week but that seems to be fine now.
I've tried changing and checking chargers etc but they seem to work it other people's and my iPad seems fine now

    Hi there glee154!
I have an article here that can help you troubleshoot this issue with your iPhone. The article is about troubleshooting a multitude of iPhone hardware issues, and can be found right here:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
The specific section you will want to reference can be found here:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!

    Braden
