When I plug my iPhone into my computer, Itunes starts up but my phone doesn't show up and I can't back it up or add music to my phone. Can someone help?

Start with the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver. Is your iPhone plugged in to a charger? I believe that is a requirement for WiFi sync.

Maybe you're referring to the fact that iCloud is the sync mechanism for Contacts and Calendars now. If not, I don't understand your comment.

Did you log into your iTunes account on the iPhone? On your phone, start the App store, tap the "Featured" icon and scroll down. Do you see Redeem and then, under that, your Apple ID?

Upgraded to leopard no iphone doesn't show up in itunes

I upgraded to leopard and now when I plug in my iphone it charges but itunes doesn't open, and when I open itunes the iphone doesn't show up. If I need to reset the iphone (which seems rather drastic) how do i do that??

I didn't think I was going to have time to try that tonight but it worked out that I did have time and the reinstall worked. The reinstall was faster than I expected and went right to working normally. no lost playlist or time to search for music.

This may be an error caused by the update. You can try to sync your contact information with iCloud and backup the rest of your data and then restore the device and see if it starts to work normally again.

Remove any lint/debris from the lightning port.

Check your System Profiler to see if your computer is recognizing them. You may need to reset the computers SMC.
