After plugging in your phone to your computer have you tried clicking the iTunes app? You may have your phone set to not automatically go to iTunes when you plug it in. Also double check that you are using the proper cable to plug in your phone, it may not work if it is just an ipod cable- I've made that mistake several times.

The music must be on the computer in order to sync it.
Since you only signed into the iTunes account on the computer but did not download the media, it's not there to sync.
Also, iOS devices are designed to only sync to one computer.
Maybe it would be a good idea to read the User's Guide so that you'll have a better understanding of how this is supposed to work. -
Had message on my iphone 4 this morning that I needed to plug it into itunes. Did this but could only get a blank screen with apple symbol on it. Tried to do a system restore but keep getting the message that it couldn't finish restoring
Try a Hard Reset.....
Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button AND the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears on the screen, it can take 10 or more seconds. Ignore the swipe to turn off message. -
iPh 4s plugged into computer iTunes to update. When I came back to ck on it msg said ph not found. Ph showed plugin w/arrow pointing to iTunes symbol. Turned ph off/on but same thing on screen. It is frozen. Now what?
Additional comment from Carl 37: Phone is locked up with screen showing usb cable end with arrow to iTunes logo. What can I do to regain use of phone?

Hi everybody,
My iPhone 5 does not show up on Itunes (ver. 11.0.2). Usually it should appear on the right upper side down to the search field.
I have already the last version of iOS and iTunes.
I have also restarted my iPhone and my Mac Air with Mac Os X (10.7.5)
Do anyone know how i can fix this? Since i bought my iPhone i have only synchronized with success two times.

Glad I could help. You may have called Apple support, as their phone support is only free for 90 days after purchase. After that time, you have to pay for phone support.

I have bought an ipad, and when i go to reset it, it needs the restrictions password which i dont know. When i plug it into itunes, it asks to turn find my iphone off, which needs the password of the old owners itunes.What should i do?
If you're able to contact the person who set the lock, send them this link and tell them to follow its instructions.
If not, you can't use the device but may be able to get it refunded. Apple won't remove the lock for anyone other than the original owner(assuming they're alive.)

You need to restore it. If it doesn't work on our current computer, try borrowing someone else's. If your iPhone is jailbroken then you are pretty much screwed. Also, you should try putting it in DFU, which would restore it thoroughly. Follow these steps:
Plug your device into your computer
Turn off the device by holding the Sleep/Wake or Power button and swiping it off
Hold the power button for 3 seconds
Begin holding the Home button without releasing the Sleep/Power button for 10 seconds
Release the power button and continue holding the home button until you get a popup from iTunes that your device is recognized as being in recovery mode. -
When I first got my iphone i plugged it into my friends computer and added songs from their itunes. Now when i plug it into my computer it will not connect or show up in the sidebar in itunes. I have already tried factory resetting the phone and 'authorizing this computer' in itunes. Can anyone help?
Is your iTunes up to date, it is now 10.7, click the iTunes button at the top of this page if you need the new version.

When I plug in iPhone (5.1.1) to computer, playlists show up on the iPhone (when plugged in), that do not appear when it is not plugged in. And I can't erase them. I have iTunes match, and deleted all my music on the iPhone, but that had no effect on the phantom playlist that shows up on the PC when I plug in the iPhone to the PC. I cannot manually move songs or playlists from the PC to the iPhone

I connected my iphone 4s that I unlocked for t-mobile. I plugged it into itunes, and it asked me to update to ios6. I accepted the download and update button. It told me it needed 8 hours. Yes, and, I try to restore. I have the T-Mobile sim card in it just to clarify. It will not let me get passed that, it does not accept the t-mobile sim card. i tried restoring it using wifi, cellular, and i cant get i tunes. I am scared that if i take the tmobile sim card out and put the at&t one in just to complete the restoration process that the iphone will lock again and not read the tmobile sim card, then all my hard work has gone for nothing. ( this whole process was caused by me trying wanting to empty my pictures onto my computer because i did not have any storage space left). <--- that may not be as important, but i included it just because.

when I plug my iPhone in to my computer, iTunes doesn't recognize it as a device. I have deleted and re-downloaded iTunes twice which seems to fix the problem temporarily but then the next time I plug my phone in, the device is not recognized.
What happens if you go to iTunes > File > Devices, do you get the option to Sync iPhone?

Did you try rebooting the iPad? You will need to have some battery power for this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Hi, I have an edit box and a choose button. when I click on that choose button I get a formatted search screen. I want the value typed in the edit box to be defaulted in the Find Edit box of the foratted search screen. Say I type "1" in my edit box,
