My iPhone earphones is not working on iphone

Hello All,
I have iPhone 3Gs 32 GB, and a new earphones that worked perfectly when I bought them, after around 3 or 4 months, the microphone and the controls are not working, I tried to restart my iphone, every thing worked fine, but the problem reappears again, its not a permanent problem but rather the mic and controls sometimes work fine. Today they were not working, I tried them on my Macbook Pro they worked fine, so that seems that I don't have any problem in the earphones. Any suggestions?

Did you check the earphone port for any kind of debris or lint, to make sure that the plug is fully inserted?

  • My earphones are not working properly

My earphones are not working properly. My rightside earphone is not sounding as the left one. Is there any solution to retify it? I just want to have the original sound on my earphones.
What is the cost of the new set of earphones?

Just ring the Apple customer care number for your country. My nano earphones were also faulty, the right one was twice as loud as the left one which was rather distracting. It took about 10 days for the new one's to arrive but the stupid muppets sent me the wrong earphones, they sent me one's that are sold with the full sized ipods not the earphones which come with the nano!.

  • Earphone jack not working after update

Like in subject, after update to lollipop earphone jack stopped working, I've tried couple of earphones but none of them been working, there is no icon in notification bar. Anyone else have this issue?

before you do so, you could re-install lollipop with PCC to narrow down issues.

  • Brand New Ipod touch 4th gen  right earphone jack not working out of the box. Bought at Wal-Mart yesterday. Are we missing something in the set up or should we return it?

We just purchased an ipod touch 4th gen 8 gb from Wal Mart. OUt of the box the right headphone is not working. Tried numerous pairs of headphones..tried the mono settings and nothing is working. Is there a setting we are missing or should we just return it?

If the headphone plug is fully inserted, I would return the iPod for a replacement

  • Earphone Socket Not Working

I have a Toshiba Satellite C660-23Q and the earphone socket stopped working this morning. I looked at the audio device menu under control panel, and the only device coming up is the speakers. No headphone option or anything else. Can anyone help please?

That doesn't appear to be a US model, and this is the forums for Toshiba USA. You may want to contact Toshiba in your region. If it's a European model, you could check the Toshiba Europe forums.

  • Updated iPhone 5s to IOS 7.0.3 - now volume control on earphone lead not working, Updated iPhone 5s to IOS 7.0.3 - now volume control on earphone lead not working

Before updating my iPhone 5s to IOS 7.0.3 from 7.0.2 volume control on supplied earphones worked fine.
Now the iphone is unresponsive to that volume control.

I spoke with my service department, I have insurance so they just sent me a new phone. Good news? Maybe.
It was refurbished not new like they said. It had iOS 6.0 and when I plugged it into the PC to update from the backup that I had done on the other phone, it gave an error message about the sofware being too old. Then it only updated the stuff from a year ago and ate all the photos and addresses and phone numbers and notes that were less than a year old. I've spent most of the last 24 hours trying to get back what I could from other sources.
So: good, but not wonderful.  Be careful if you replace it, and holler at Apple until they come out with a fix. Now I wish I had just put up with no ringer tones. Sigh. Good luck, y'all.
Shouldn't matter, but my carrier is Verizon, not ATT.

  • Earphones' button not working, iPhone 4.

    So,
I've recently upgraded to iPhone 4 from my old iPhone 3G
And I found pretty quickly that the earphones' button does not function at all.
I mean, the button you use to answer calls or control the music doesn't do neither.
The problem is not in my earphones, they are still working on a 3GIi tried
also I tried 2 pairs - one are apple's the second are skullcandy's both worked fine before.
Now, I thought i got a defective device so I tried the earphones on my brother's iPhone 4 and it didn't work there either.
Is that a coincidence or did apple stop supporting 'in-line' control buttons??
    Thanks

The only advice we can give is buy a phone in the country  you want to use it in, it's hardly a secret if you do a little research that the iphone does not have an international warranty.  I thought they sold them in India now?

  • I have an iPhone 5 and the new-style proper apple earphones will not work in it. Other cheaper earphones will but they are awful, and I have tried the apple ones in other phones and apple devices and they work fine as earphones, so why not in my iPhone?

so basically the official apple headphones work in other iPads, iPhones and computers but they won't work in my iPhone 5. So does this mean there is an issue with my jack? But why do any other alternative earphones work and it's just the apple ones which don't? I'm a little confused and really I'd like the proper ones to work because they produce the best quality sound. Help please!

Could be a contact problem. There are certain places inside the headset port where proper contact is needed for the various functions the Apple headset has, for example the Remote/microphone unit that cheaper headphones don't have.
You should have your phone checked by an Authorized Apple Service provider or by visiting an Apple Store next to your place.

  • Earphone buttons not working on iphone but work perfectly well on mac

    Hi,
As of a couple of days the buttons on the earphones that came along with my iphone have stopped working with the phone. That is, I cant raise or lower the volume using the buttons when I listen to music, nor can I play/pause songs or answer calls using the button in the middle. The sound from the earphones works perfectly well (that is, I can listen to music), and so does the mic (I can talk to people using the earphones).
Just now though, I used the earphones with my macbook and the buttons suddenly work. So is the fault with my phone? Is there anything I can do?

    Hear, hear!
That earphone jack attracts more lint that a bellybutton. I just cleaned mine out (the earphone jack) and remote functionality returned like a dream!

  • Marshall minor earphones - remote not working

    Hello
I just bought the Marshall minor earphones, which have a remote with one button (1 click: play/pause, 2 clicks: next, 3 clicks: back), similarly to the apple earphones.
Unfortunalely they don't seem to work with the nokia N8:
    It's a 4 pins 3.5mm jack
    - If I push it not entirely (3 pins in), the sound is OK but the remote doesn't work
    - If I push it fully, the sound is "muffed" (sry I'm not english), and when I press the remote the sound is OK (but doesn't play/pause etc)
I tried to force it to be recognized as a hands-free in settings -> phone -> accessories but it doesn't work. I checked with the original WH-701 earphones of the N8 and they work fine, so I guess my marschall are not compatible
Is there any way this type of hands-free will be supported with a firmware update?
    Thx
    Peio

    Okay thanks for your reply
It works fine on my HTC Desire though

  • I had an ipod nano its earphones are not working.. a few months back my ipod broke and i purchased a new ipod touch but its earphones died too so i got them replaced. is it possible to replace my earphones of ipod nano with the warranty on my ipod touch ?

can i claim the warranty of another earphone on one ipod i.e. getting two earphones on the same warranty serial number...

Because the warranty for your iPod touch does not cover manufacturing defects with your iPod Nano.  You are talking about and dealing with two seperate products.
