My iphone froze and now it won't turn on or charge! Help please!

I downloaded a book app onto my phone, after trying to use it, it froze and the home button wouldn't work, so me being the idiot that I am decided that maybe if I locked it, it would work.. it didn't and so the phone went black, but it would still ring and play music (although I couldn't answer), and then once my music stopped playing, I couldn't turn it back on. Now, my phone has finally died and has been charging for about an hour, via the wall and now via the computer and it still hasn't turned on. Any suggestions?

  • HT4061 We just updated our mom's iPhone 4, and now it won't turn on.  When it does, it says "iTunes" and wants me to connect to it.  Nothing I do makes it go away, and I can't get it to turn on.  Help!

I just updated my mom's Iphone 4, and now it won't turn on.  When it does, there is a "itunes" icon, with the cord picture, which is asking me to connect to Itunes, I believe.  Can't get past this screen to even turn it on.  What do I do without having to restore her entire phone, which I have no idea how to do that?

You need to restore using the recovery mode described in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 and may need to do that more than once to succeed.

  • Dropped iPhone 5c and now it won't turn on

My cousin dropped his iPhone 5c and now it won't turn on. It doesn't charge or make any noise. What should I do?

    Try to reset the phone
Hold the sleep and home buttons until the apple logo appears and allow normal boot up - there is no data loss
If this does not work - then chances are that there is hardware damage that cannot be fixed through the user troubleshooting methods and bring it to an Apple or authorized repair store

  • I updated to iOS 8 on my iPhone 5c and now it won't turn on and I know it was fully charged any ideas?

Have updated my iPhone 5c to iOS 8 and restored it and now it won't turn on.  I have tried plugging it in even though I know it was fully charged, I have shut down my rebooted my computer and iTunes from scratch and reconnected my phone and still nothing, any ideas?

    Hello Nikmuz,
It sounds like your screen is either black so it looks like it is not on, or it is just plain not turning on at all and it is also not being recognized in iTunes. I would recommend the followng troubleshooting from this article to help you determine whether that is the case or not, named:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • I dropped my iPhone 4S, and now it won't turn on...

I just got it, and I dropped it, and now it won't turn on. I usually always have cases on my phones, but I'm waiting for it to come in the mail. And just my luck, I dropped it.
I tried plugging it in to my computer, and it just makes the sync noise repeatedly. But won't turn on. Is this fixable? I really can't afford to buy a new one at $600. this close to Christmas. Please help me!

Hmm. That helps. But I just got it through my service provider, so its only a week old. Lets hope its less then the $200!
    Thanks!

  • I reset everything on my iphone 4 and now it won't turn on. It ***** on a loading screen and my lock button is broken. what do i do?!

I reset everything on my iphone 4 and now it's stuck on a loading scree and my lock button is broken. what do i do?!

There is nothing you can do as you won't be able to reset the device.
You can wait until the battery goes flat then try connecting it to power so it restarts. If the same issue occours then you'll need to restore it on iTunes by entering recovery mode.

  • Updated my iphone 4s and now it won't turn on

I updated my iPhone 4S today and now it is stuck in a loop with the apple logo.  I tried doing the restore/recovery mode and it runs for 5 minutes then comes up and says it cannot be restored.  Anything I can do or do I need to go to the Apple store?

If the phone won't restore from iTunes, there isn't much you can do. If your phone is still under the 1 year warranty or you purchased AppleCare+, Apple will be able to swap your phone out at no cost. If you are no longer under warranty, you can get a replacement 4S for $199 plus tax, in which case you may want to consider upgrading if you're eligible.

  • I just got a screen protector put on my iphone and I put it in to charge and now it won't turn on or charge

I got the Iphone screen protector put on and it was working perfectly before and after. BUT when I went to charge it due to low battery it won't charge or turn on. There is condensation within the camera lens. What is the problem?

The installers use water to get the air bubbles out of the film. Looks like they got a little heavy handed with yours. You warranty is now voided (there are moisture indicators in the phone). You will need the screen protector people to replace your phone.
Since they will likely decline, if you are in the US, threaten to file a claim on their insurance for damaging your property in thier control.

  • I had a temperature warning come up on my iPhone 4 and now it won't turn on

I had a temperature warning come up on my iPhone 4 saying I needed to cool it to use it or something and turned it off and attempted to turn it back on as a means of fixing it, but it didn't work and now my phone isn't turning back on and even when I connect it to the charging cable (either to a plug socket or iTunes via my laptop) nothing happens; it doesn't even seem to detect it, my phone is still lifeless.
Anyone know what to do about this and how to fix my phone again? Cos right now, it's nothing more than a nice looking paper-weight. Would appreciate the feedback, thanks.

Try a hard reset while connected to power: (adapter, not iTunes on computer): Press and hold both the Home button and Sleep/wake button at the same time for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple Logo appears.
If this doesn't work: try to force restore: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
NB: the article above will erase all data and content, so make sure you've got a backup
    Good luck

  • My iPod Touch 4th Generation finished updating and now it won't turn on. the charge finishes, and when plugged in, it goes to a blue then white screen. and i cant do anything. also wont connect to iTunes. pls help

hi. my ipod touch i guess finished updating. and now when it trys to turn on, a blue screen comes up and then the blue screen changes to a white one. and i cant do anything to it. also it own connect to itunes. help pls

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My Magsafe adapter blew while charging and now Macbook won't turn on or charge?

My macbook was completely dead (we just got back from vacation). I plugged it in to charge it with my Magsafe L adapter (that came with my macbook) and turned my macbook on. Within 20 minutes (it was around 40% charged at that point I believe), I heard a "pop" and the computer shut off. Completely. No warning. I felt the L shape and it was HOT. I immediately unplugged the adapter from the wall and the box was just as hot if not hotter. The 2 pronged plug has burn looking marks on the metal, which leads me to believe it blew and is dead. Now my macbook won't turn on. I tried a few troubleshooting things (control-command-power button for 3 seconds and shift-option-p-r-power button) and there was no response.
Am I screwed? Will I even be able to get anything off my macbook?
I purchased it in 2009ish if that helps.

If you are in the US or Canada, you could make a Genius appointment
at an Apple Store for a diagnostic check of the computer to see if the
DC-in board (or magsafe board) is still OK.
Or if it was toasted from the power surge or failure of the adapter. If
so, then it would need a service for replacement. Troubleshooting
the charging system may well extend to checking the rest of the
computer hardware, as so much is integrated.
There may be some ideas on repair questions in an appropriate
iFixit guide for MacBooks, online at their site. Not sure if there is
a guide for those power adapters, but had read where repairs had
been attempted by individuals several years ago, posted online.
Hopefully you can reconcile your differences with the MacBook.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • I restored my iPhone 4 and now it won't resync my music. Help?!

I tried to add more music to my iPhone today & when I plugged it in to iTunes it said that it could not read my contents & I needed to restore. When I restored it also updated my software to iOS 5.1. After the phone reset & everything it won't sync any of my music. When I click the drop down arrow in the device section, it shows that my music is there, but when I unlock the phone & try to open my music, it isn't there. Also, all the songs are greyed out & have a weird sync icon next to them. I really don't know what to do! Please help!

Your device is broken.  If you want a device that works better than the one you have now, then you'll either need to bring your phone into Apple for out of warranty exchange ($149), or find a 3rd party repair shop in your area and see what they can do, if anything at all.

  • I dropped my iPhone 4 and now it won't turn on it all.

I've shook it to see if it's broken inside and i dont hear anything. The charger won't bring it on and it's not cracked or scratched. What can I try to get it to turn on? Will they fix it at the apple store for free or will there be a fee?

It sounds like the drop was able to break something internally. Apple Store usually do not fix iPhone. Instead they repace them. Since your iPhone is damaged they will charge you $149 for the replacement.
