You can try contacting the iTunes Store and asking if there's anything they can do:

The terms of sale for the Store, though, say that they're not responsible for such purchases, so they may not be able to do anything for you.
Normally such purchases require that the user know the iTunes Store account password. If your son does know your password, you should immediately go to the Restrictions section of the General preferences and turn off the option for In-App Purchases. If your son should not be making purchases on his own, you probably should also change your iTunes Store password.

IPhone has stopped playing certain songs, crashes when apps are opened

Over the past few days, I've started experiencing some odd problems with my first-gen iPhone. The first problem I experienced was that third party apps purchased from the iTunes store wouldn't open. When I selected them, they would launch and then close right away. This happened with most - but not all 3rd party apps. All of the basic iPhone processes, like YouTube, stocks, email, etc. all worked fine. I've tried resetting or recharging the phone - sometimes it works and I can then open the apps and other times, it doesn't and the problem continues.
The other issue is that some songs won't play on my iPhone. The song comes up in the player but there's no sound. I did a little bit of investigating and it appears that the songs that won't play were purchased through iTunes and not loaded from a CD. I'm not experiencing this issue with every purchased song, though. Some of them play, others will not. From what I can tell, there's no discernible pattern for which songs play and which don't. I thought perhaps it was an issue with the amount of time since I had purchased the song but that doesn't appear to be the cause. I have some songs I downloaded a year ago that will play, where other year-old songs will not. Similarly, a few songs I purchased just last week won't play, where others purchased last week will. I can play these songs on other hardware - my iMac, streaming through AppleTV.
I've tried everything - resetting the phone, removing the content and reloading it, and finally doing a factory reset on the phone but nothing has worked. This phone is close to 2 years old. Is it on its last legs? I'm waiting on the iPhone 3.0 and will most certainly upgrade so I'm not overly concerned about the long term effects of these issues. However, since I'm anticipating that the new iPhone won't be released immediately, I'd like to have a working iPhone for at least a few more weeks. Any ideas what might be happening?

Turn off repeat.

Play the song, tap the screen, tap the repeat icon (Top Left of screen, two arrows in a circle) until it is white = off.

What do you do when your BD-R.iso builds differently from what you have on the simulator?

I'm about to kick this Encore CS6 BD-R making machine out the window. The simulator plays the menu & functions like i want... I build the image & burn the disk and I get a menu that STARTS at the loop point and highlight groups that don't highlight. Again, this works well in simulator; works and looks like crap when i burn the built image to BD-R. I can see why disk delivery is going away. Who has time for this stupid, time sucking crap. This is the last custom menu i'm ever doing. Five days at this now and i still have no useable menu. At anyrate, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. //dc

Thanks Stan, here you go... it's pretty simple. And yes I meant Encore Preview... DVDSP called it Simulator, so i'm a bit hung over from those days. If i can get Preview to reflect accurately what I'm building, then I can finish this thing- I'll be able to sort out the settings causing the badness.. Basically the selected subpicture highlights DO NOT highlight in the build, they are just barely noticeable, so faint that you can't tell this is the selected button. I'm including the Menu Color Set image her as well, maybe it'll help. Again, it is all FINE/ looks great in Preview, sucks and is horrible on the build/burn. //dc

you will have to wait until you can try again,
i believe the only way if you don't know the passcode is to factory reset through itunes which you will lose everything from your phone if it hasn't been backed up

My iPhone has been stolen, i have rang my provider and gotten it blocked, can somebody still access my photos if they manage to get it unlocked?

I have selected the music tab in i tunes and asked for it to sync entire music library but all I get is a message looking for which Apps to sync and after a brief time it stops doing any syncing at all. Consequently a new playlist I added to i tunes on my computer has not migrated to the iphone. This has never been an issue before so I'm a bit lost to know what to do.

Under the Music tab is the "Sync Music" checkbox ticked? Beneath that have you defined what music you want to sync?

I mainly just use my iTunes for organizing and adding new songs. Most of the time I listen to my music on my iPhone. I wish it would keep track of how many times I play a song in my music and transfer it to the computer under the 'number of times played' column. It would help out so much! Does anyone know if there is a way for the number of time a song has been played on your iPhone/iPod be transferred to the songs on your iTunes number of plays?

You sound like an Apple support guy who hasn't been able to answer my questions.
To respond to some of the points you made,
- I did not ignore Ocean20's suggestion. If you has read my post, you would have known that I took my phone to the apple service centre where they tried this restore on THEIR machines. I am assuming that Apple guys know how not to block iTunes. So I actually do not understand your point about me trying the hosts file changes on my machine. Do you not believe that apple tested this issue with the correct settings?
- you also give a flawed logic of why the issue is a hardware issue. You mentioned that If I thought that the issue was with the software, i should try a restore and getting it to work. The problem is that my error (23), and many others comes up when the restore fails. And you would be astonished to know that not all errors are hardware errors. Sometimes even software errors prevent restores. Funnily enough Apple itself mention that 'in rare cases, error 23 could be hardware related'.
- all Apple has done so far is replicate the issue. I don not know how anyone can conclude that the issue is a hardware issue.
And by the way, I am not certain that this is a software bug. Again if you read my Posts, you will notice I only want a confirmation,/proof that the issue is hardware related as they mention..

If your phone is offline, the ONLY way to find it is to look for it the old fashioned way. Your phone CANNOT be located electronically if it's offline.

Unfortunately, there is pretty much nothing you can do. Only the owner of the account used to lock it can remove the lock. If you can't contact whoever you purchased it from, or if they can't or won't remove the lock, then it's a brick. There is a very real chance that it's stolen.

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Maybe a long shot, but WD is not known for the quality of some of their enclosures, although I do like the drives themselves. It may be worth mounting this drive in a different enclosure, something like one of OWC's FireWire enclosures with the highly reliable Oxford chip sets. I wouldn't be inclined to trust a WD enclosure, especially if it already seemed to be acting in a flakey manner.

I have 3 of these and I really like them.
From what I understand, if the drive spins up, it is often possible to recover data from it. To be absolutely certain to destroy the data, you just about have to take a hammer to the disk. Hopefully, there will be a way to get your data back.
