  • What to do when Iphone 4 is stuck on connect to itunes screen?

    Please Help!
I unplugged my Iphone 4 from the computer and a screen showing me to connect to itunes showed up. It has been stuck on that screen for hours and after showing the message for a couple of seconds, the phone turns off by itself. If I click on the home buttom and the sleep button, it turns it on, shows the screen and then off again. I connect to itunes, but neither itunes or my computer recognize the device. I have no idea what to do now.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION.

  • "An iPhone has been previously synced with this computer" error on sync

I recently resurrected an old original iPhone to use as an iPod touch (no phone contract) and started syncing it to my home Mac Mini, which is where I sync nearly all of my iPhone 3G data from. I can't honestly say which was the last iPhone to successfully sync, but I just docked my iPhone 3G for the first time in a few weeks and got an error, "An iPhone has been previously synced with this computer". It's only allowing me to either set it up as a new phone, or to restore from either my 2G or 3G iPhone backup.
I don't want to restore; I've added a load of apps, notes, photos, etc since the last archive on that Mac Mini.
NOTE: This home Mac Mini syncs all the iPod content to my 3G. My MacBook Pro syncs the Pictures to the 3G. And all calendar/contact data is synced OTA (over the air).
(I have been regularly syncing/backing up to my MacBook Pro while I've been on the road. So I do have a valid archive on that system.)
I don't understand why I'm getting this error. It's almost as if I can't sync multiple iPhones to the same computer, but AFAIK that's not correct.
I suppose I could move an archive from the MBP over to the Mini and restore from a valid archive, but that seems obtuse.
What would cause this error? I can't update my music/tv/podcasts on here until I get this sorted out… bugger!
    thanks

Thank you for your response will2b but I am looking for a solution for the problem that I cannot sync the same phone with the same computer I have been for a couple of months now. It shouldn't matter that I did not sync my phone for a couple of weeks. I should still be able to sync the same phone to the same computer. This is obviously some kind of software glitch and I am looking for a solution.
    some advice from blacksheepia:
I had been having issues with having good reception in a suburb within close proximity to Los Angeles. Called ATT and they were able to synchronize my phone while I am at home to a closer cell site and that has improved things a great deal. Also I was told that you should turn the phone off at a minimum of once a week and if possible more times to reset it and give it time to rest and cool off. The other thing I have discovered may be the actual way that the phone is constructed. Today I was using it at home in the same room and noticed the bars go down and come up when I changed how I held it. I thought their was no possible way that it could be that simple, but after changing the way I held it 5 times alternating from gripping my whole hand around the back with my palm and just finger gripping from the sides and making sure I was not blocking the back of the phone, well as much as possible, the results were that I had 4 to 5 bars of reception. Now this may seem crazy, but there is a possibility that this could be the cause of bad reception if the antenna is in the back shell of the phone and by blocking it with your palm you could interfere with the reception. Crazy I know, but I have heard of much crazier things with new phones and technology.

  • Iphone 3G is stuck on "Connect to Itunes"

I really need help. I've been trying to get my phone to work for T-Mobile so I followed some videos on youtube to jailbreak adn unlock it. After I did everything it still wouldn't work and my phone was slow so I decided to restore it to it's normal settings. Everytime I turn on my iphone I just get a connect to itunes. When I connect to itunes it doesn't say the name of my iphone or anything. It says The iphone "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (1015). I try to restore again and says the same thing. I looked up many videos and none of them work. I tried downloaded tiny umbrella and the newest firmware and I have the latest itunes. I tried holding the power and home button and all that stuff and nothing is working. Not only did I not get it to work for T-Mobile but now it's being stupid. I'm not a technical person and I don't really know how to fix this. I'm starting to give up on Apple... PLEASE HELP!!!

Sorry, but you can't get help here. By attempting to jailbreak the phone, you have voided the warranty and any right to support from Apple. In addition, it's a violation of the Terms of Service here to discuss jailbroken or hacked devices.
You'll have to resort to Google.

  • My iPhone 4 is stuck on "Connect to iTunes" screen

I was doing a recovery on my iPhone when something went wrong and now it's completely stuck. It's stuck on the connect to iTunes screen. ITunes doesn't recognize it and I don't know what to do. I've also tried to put my phone in DFU mode, but iTunes still don't recognize it.

I also am stuck but when I press restore from backup it says that
"find my iphone must be turned off before iphone can be restored.  It also says to " go to iCloud settings on your iphone and turn off Find my Iphone before restoring your iphone.
However I am unable to do this because it is stuck at connected to iTunes.
I have turned it off and did a complete restore to factory settings all to no avail.
My phone is not working either.  help

  • My iPhone has been stuck in the apple logo loop

I tried to restore the software using iTunes. It came up with the error " The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9). After talking with tech support they said that it was a hardware issue. Does anybody know what component i need to replace?

See: Resolve iOS update and restore errors
There are no user serviceable parts in an iPhone, and no legitimate source for replacement parts, as Apple does not sell them. Thus, any part you buy was scavenged from some other phone and may or may not work. There's also no way to identify which part might need replacing. Most likely it is the logic board, but there's no way to know for sure. Apple will replace the phone for $269 if out of warranty, free if in warranty.

  • Cannot install itunes 10.2.1 on XP. Iphone 4 is stuck on connect to itunes

i have had problems ever since i downloaded the new itunes download a few weeks ago. First i was having issue with the determining gapless playback information which would freeze under my windows XP system. when attempting to plug in my iphone for sync itunes tells me my phone is in recovery mode and needs to be recovered. then it downloads the new software and then error comes up and tells me the firmware is corrupt, to disconnect and reconnect the iphone, then it just says error after trying again. Now my iphonw is stuck on the connect to itunes picture and i cant turn it on. finally, after completely deleting every trace of itunes and apple and trying to install 10.2.1, i get a message the wondows has encountered an error with the download and has to shut down and it asks me if i want to send and error report or not...or debug.... ahh im so frustrated...i need my phone!!

  • My iphone 4s is stuck on connect to itunes, is not recognized by computer or itunes

my iphone is stuck on the "connect to itunes" loading screen, and when it's plugged into my computer, itunes and the computer are not able to recognize it. when it is plugged in, it gets a "USB device not recognized" and in device manager, it shows up as an "unknown device". I have read and tried everything in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538, as well as uninstalling and re-installing itunes and all it's components several times, but nothing has helped. Please help!!!

The iPhone has gone into recovery mode and you have to restore by connecting to a computer with iTunes and follow the instructions in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808.  If you do not have a computer with iTunes, a friend with a computer with iTunes, can you get to an Apple store genius bar and see if the techs will restore for you?

  • My iphone 3gs is stuck on connect to itunes screen and it keeps looping with the apple icon screen if I try to reset it, can anybody help?

Please help??? I have tried the reset and it seemed to have made it worse, now it won't charge completely. Any ideas?

Ignore sandeep.  Don't use DFU mode.  You need to use recovery mode.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Placing your device into recovery mode
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
Use iTunes to restore the device.

  • TS1538 my iphone 5s is stuck in "connect to itunes" mode

I literally just bought this phone today, and theres already an issue. After updating my iTunes, as the notification indicated necessary, I also clicked to update my phone as well. Halfway through the update, my iTunes screen read "waiting for iphone" and my iphone just shows a picture of plugging the cord into the iTunes logo. Ive tried holding the home and hold button in different variations for different durations (as told by youtube and support forums...) and nothing seems to work. It's still stuck on the screen with the cord being plugged into the iTunes logo.
    Please Help!!!

    UPDATE:
So I finally got it to work again! After being on the phone with apple support for 40min, we came to the conclusion that I was going to need to bring it back to the apple store and exchange it for a new one. Let me emphasize this is a BRAND NEW iPhone 5s, literally bought it less than 12 hours ago. Just as I do not know why this problem occured, I also do not know why the problem was fixed. I will outline the steps and issues I faced throughout this process incase anyone else is in the same boat.
-plug my phone into my computer
-must update iTunes in order to control phone from computer
-(after update) popup indictating new iOS software update
-halfway through iOS update, iTunes reads "waiting for iPhone" (where you read which song is playing)
-iPhone stuck on screen with Lighting USB cord --> iTunes logo
-tried putting it in recovery mode; fail
-may or may not have put it in DFU mode; still no progress
-call apple support and go over similar steps with him
-(still on the phone) uninstall iTunes & ALL APPLE software in particular order
a.iTunes->Quicktime->Apple Software update->Apple mobile device support->Bonjour-> Apple application support
    -re-install iTunes via apple.com
-plug phone back in and still no progress: iTunes not acknowledging the phone & phone still stuck on same "connect to iTunes" screen
-conclude (with apple support) it to be a system hardware failure and scheduled an appt. for the genius bar tomorrow evening.
-in order to see if the problem is my phone or iTunes, I plugged my old iphone 5 into my comp. and iTunes registered it just as it normally would.
-while my old iPhone 5 was plugged in, I plugged in my new broken iPhone 5s and wouldn't you know, it came up onto the screen. From there I just followed the steps on the screen from restoring it to setting it up all over again
-I did have to do the fingerprint thing again, type in my wifi password, and although my texts were all there, none of my apps were so I need to redownload them.
So I guess if you're having this issue, try plugging in an old ipod or iphone just to see where the problem lays. If it is iTunes, you need to uninstall the prgrams in that (above^) particular order for it to be completely erased and reinstalled. Hope this helps you guys out! Happy holidays
