My iphone is currently locked on the home screen.

I can not slide to unlock in order to enter my passcode.  I have rebootd by hold sleep button at top and home button but have had no luck.  Any thoughts on how to fix?

You don't have push enabled.   Go into your settings and enable it, however many people will want to advise you that doing so will reduce your battery life.

  • My IPhone 3G will not load the home screen...

    Hi
I am having an issue with my phone. I can't get the home screen to load. I get the Apple Logo screen then it disappears and I get the black screen with a spinning beachball/gear ( like it's trying to load). A couple of days ago I had my phone in my bedroom on my night stand, charging. One of my schnauzers in the attempt to get on the bed, got tangled in the cord and pulled it off the stand onto the floor ( about a 2 foot drop ) ::note:: I do have an otter box on the phone. The phone seemed okay until this afternoon. I updated 4 apps and later I picked up my phone to call my husband and I had the spinning gear screen.
After searching and googling a bit I came across some "fixes" One said to hook up to my PC and restore the phone via ITunes. Okay I tried this, at first I got an error saying there was an unknown error. After a few tries the phone started to restore. It comfirmed that my restore was a success and I then began a sync. After the sync had finished I was back to the apple logo screen :/
I tried this fix also ( it's been helpful for others, just not for me )
    1. Connect to iTunes via USB. Do not disconnect for rest of these steps. iTunes may appear frozen or stuck with spinning beachball....this is okay, do not Force Quit iTunes. I tried a few times w/o it being connected to iTunes and it doesn't work.
    2. Once connected, hold Home + Power until screen blinks then Apple logo comes back up.
    3. Wait until Apple logo dims slightly (~5 minutes or less). Do NOT reboot until the apple logo dims.
    4. Hold Home + Power again until it reboots and Apple logo comes back up.
    5. After 2 min or so, the phone may vibrate once or twice. Continue waiting for the full 5 min until Apple logo dims slightly. iTunes at this stage MAY recognize the phone...do not sync or do anything in iTunes.
    6. Hold Home + Power for the 3rd time until it reboots. Phone may vibrate again after 2 minutes or so. Eventually you'll break into your Home screen.
Still, my home screen will not load :/ Any help would be much appreciated. I live in a rural town with no Apple Store. I got my phone from an individual, would they even help me out ( Apple Store)? I'd have to drive about 80 miles round trip to get to an Apple Store. If there's a fix for this, I'd very much appreciate it
    Thanks in Advance,
        Candy

Anyone? C'mom, I know some of you techie type folks know how to fix this!

  • My iphone 4s is frozen on the home screen and it is talking.

I have done something to freeze my iphone 4s on the first app screen.  Meanwhile, Siri describes every function I touch.  Help.

    Hello celtmanatl,
This is due to the Voice Over function being enabled on your phone. The article linked below details how to manage Accessibility features on your device.

  • Can we change the Home screen Background for iPhone 5C

Can we change the Home screen Background for iPhone 5C

I would assume that the home screen image and the lock screen image would be changed 100% the same way all other iphones change them in the settings

  • Repeated return to the home screen

My iPhone is constantly returning to the home screen when I am using the safari or maps. Network (Wi-Fi/Edge) does not matter. Any suggestions. thanks

I am having the same issue with my iPhone. Seems to happen on either Edge or Wifi. Also seems to happen when I am pinching or scrolling around the screen (at least in Safari).
This has started to happen more often (now to the point of being annoying) in just the last couple of days. My phone is not quite a month old.
Did a reset of settings to see if this helps at all.

I set up a passcode to ensure the security of my iPhone 5 but, when I enter it on the home screen, I repeatedly receive an error message and my phone locks. Is there a way to reset the passcode when I am unable to gain access to my phone?

I figured that was the case, but I've used the same passcode for years and I can't seem to figure out how I managed to screw it up when I set up my phone. Without being able to access my phone for a restore, how would I accomplish this? iTunes? Thank you very much for you help!

  • I need an application that will turn off my iPhone on the home screen just by a one click since my power button has sank and is no longer working--anyone have ideas?? I don't like having to use assistive touch and hit three buttons to lock my screen

No such app exisits or can exist.  Apple doesn't allow 3rd party apps to access core functions of the phone.  Time to get your phone replaced or repaired if assistive touch doesn't needs your needs.

  • Why won't my iPhone 5c "go to sleep" unless it's on the lock screen? If I close out an app and am just on the home screen it just stays lit until I hit the button to force it to sleep...

Your issue is different from the OP's.  In the future, post your own thread to get answer to your specific questions.
For the OP: Go to Settings > General > Auto-Lock and set it to your preferred time.
For you: Create a backup and restore the device as new and test it to see if it still gets very hot.

  • My iphone is frozen on my facebook screen and no buttons will work. Ive tried holding the lock and the home button and that doesnt work.

My iphone is frozen on my face book screan and no buttons will work. Ive tried holding the lock and the home button but they wont work. Also my lock button is broken so i have to use assesive touch

You've got three options: 1. Take your phone to an Apple store & do an out of warranty replacement...cost is US $149 ~ $229, depending on iPhone model; 2. A third-party repair shop ~US $50 or so; 3. "Try" restoring your phone in iTunes.

  • HT4623 How can I get my iPhone 4S unlocked - it's currently locked on the 3 network - 3 can't do it unless I have an account with them.

How can I get my iPhone 4S unlocked - it's currently locked on the 3 network and they won't unlock it unless I have an account with them.

Only 3 can authorize unlocking it. If you don't meet their conditions, then you're out of luck.

from the information you provided i can't tell if it is a hardware problem or a software problem. I do have an idea though, try to press your home button and lock button at the same time.

  • Is there a Siri command to get to the home screen from the lock screen?

Here is the situation - an elderly friend of mine (94 years old) was in a panic because there were text messages on the lock screen and try as he might he could not "slide to open."
    He has no passcode set.
Anyway, I had him try this and it worked:
    1. Use Siri to "open calendar."
    2. After it opened, press the Home button to get to the home screen.
That way he was able to get in.
Is there a Siri command to go directly to the Home Screen from the lock screen? I tried various things I could think of, but couldn't figure out anything that worked.
What would be best is being able to bypass the lock screen altogether. I have another elderly friend who is blind and it is a source of constant confusion for him.
As for voiceover - he is finding it impossible to figure out. I can see, and I am also finding it impossible to figure out. We tried to use it to get into the TED app and select, play and stop videos and all sorts of weird UI elements starting popping up and it was frustrating him so we turned voiceover off. But that's for another discussion thread.
In the meantime, is there an easy way to get home if somebody is having trouble sliding?
    Thanks,
    doug

I think the more "assistive" features are turned on the harder it is for both my sighted and blind friend to use.
Yes, that can sometimes be true.
Unless your older but sighted friend has difficulty with fine motor movements, I suspect that the slide to open is a matter of practice. If you can convice your friend that they are capable of learning it and get them to work with it a bit that might help. I've found that older learners can become frustrated very quickly with technology. They either have themselves convinced they can't learn technolgy or that get annoyed because iPhones are supposed to be "intuative". The challenge is getting them to feel okay about being a beginner at something.
You're a good friend to take on this teaching task.
    Best of luck.
