My iphone is locked up in the red slider mode,

Frozen in the red slider mode, attempted to download a multimedia message and I got a blank screen. When that happen, I tried to log off and it froze, what do I do?

To confirm the issue - the iPhone is frozen/unresponsive on the Red Slider?
Perform a Hard Reset - hold the HOME and SLEEP/WAKE Button down together until the Apple Logo appears on the screen, the screen will blink and once the Apple Logo appears release the buttons and that should resolve the issue.

OK, a couple questions for you. You say you have "the latest" iOS update installed on your iPhone, but you don't mention what version that is. Would you please tell us what the version number is for your iPOS installation? Also, you have the "banner" on your Settings App, but is the banner for in iOS update, or is it for something else? Do you have a new provile, or an expiring profile, or possibly Notifications that may be triggering that?

It is a simple thing to turn off the iphone witht the slider. But my slleep button is not working and I am not at home to take it in. I did take it to a local phone shop out of the U.S. and I was shown a different screen to customize movements that I could use and a number of other personalizations that i had never used before. He showed me how to bring up the red slider without usint the sleep button, but it was fast and I now cannot find out how he did it. It looked real easy but there are so many differnt things that one can do to adjust the phone to your own liking. Has anyone come across this before? This would be for someone who knows how to use an iPhone 3S that has been fine-until now! Thanks.

You need to contact the carrier to see if they offer unlocking and if you qualify. You may need to talk to your brother about this.

Suggestion: iPhone when locked should ask the passcode if you want to turn it off. We can locate if steel by someone if they cant turn it off. Also they should put a kind of security so robbers cant take the SiMCard out easily

Do a search in this forum about forgot passcode or phone is disabled because of forgotten passcode.
See how many threads there are for that, now imagine if what you want happens, how many threads do you think we will have about not remember the passcode.

How to get the red slider to show

My ipad 4 is in recovery mode. So i tried to fix it. Step one was to plug in the usb cable to the computer. I did. Then I turned off my ipad 4 next. Then the next step was to press and hold the sleep/wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears. I did do that but the red slider didn't appear at all. What do i do?

The iPad is in recovery mode so all you need to do is plug it into a computer that has iTunes installed. iTunes on the computer should then prompt you the iPad is in recovery mode. Simply follow the prompts to restore the iPad to factory settings.

Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
