My iphone is looking for signal

Hello, I have an iphone 4s, does not have to complain about, however, sometimes (not to speak all the time) he gets no signal, no network, what can be?

I had the same issue initially, but instead of turning off entire location services. Go into location services, and disable the following:
   1. Find my iPhone : Off
   2. Camera : Off
   3. System Services \ Setting Time Zone: Off
   4. System Services \ Location based iAds: Off
Finally from Settings go to Carrier. Change Automatic to OFF and then after 5 secs you should see list of providers and select the one you're currently with.
By doing above, not only fixed the signal searching issue. but also improved the battery life. Speaking that Apple needs to fix these issues. Customer are paying lot of money for the phone and expect a good service and fast turnaround for any fixes.

Iphone newbie, looking for apps to do calendars and invoicing

Hello-
I have had my iphone 4 for 2 days now and I'm pretty happy.
One of the main things I would like to do is have my work calendar synched to some type of invoicing program.
I am a freelancer working for several different companies and some have different pay rates.
I would like to be able to put my hours into a calendar event, specify the company and the rate charged, calculate any overtime and generate an invoice.
Then I would like to have those invoices emailed once a week to each company I've worked for.
Then I want some sharks with lazers on their heads.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You won't find any apps that can do this, because there are none for a non-jailbroken iPhone. Only Apple could add this ability. You can password protect the whole phone or not give your phone to your son...get him a touch? Those are your choices. You can suggest Apple add this ability here:

My iPhone 3gs is lagging and searching for signal all the time. Help!!

Well, my phones like 3 years old...and latley it's been lagging, turning it's self off, not sending my messages, when I call other people it doesn't go through, and if it does they can barly hear me. I thought it was my sim card so I got a new one and it's not. Then My phone is almost always looking for signal evem in places I always have it. Which needless to say is draining my battery pretty bad. If anyone has any information on what I can do please help. I'm getting a new Iphone when the new one comes out, but i just want help on how to make this one useful for now.

Try restore your phone back to factory setting through itunes. if that doesnt work or even before that call your service provider since they provide the network they will have some steps to try. if those fall then its hardware most likely

IPhone 4s will not wi-fi synch. Keeps "Looking for (my name's) iMac.

Currently have an iPhone 4S which will not wi-fi synch to iTunes on my iMac.
My situation is as follows:
- iMac running OS 10.7.2 connected to a Time Capsule
- iTunes 10.5
- I have enabled/applied wi-fi synch in iTunes
- The iphone will synch via USB
- When I disconnect the iPhone from the computer and connect it to a power source, the device disappears from iTunes
- When I select "Synch Now" on my iPhone, I get the spinning wheel as my iPhone is "Looking for (My Name's) iMac". The device never shows up in iTunes. This occurs for several seconds and then stops.
- End result, is that my iPhone never wi-fi synchs.
What am I missing? Any help would be much appreciated.

Came home from work, woke computer from sleep and started iTune. iPhone "Sync Now" button went from grey to black. When I pressed the "Sync Now" button, the same symptoms as I described above occurred.
I then tried to sync by going to iTunes>File>Sync (my name's) iPhone. iTunes found my phone, my phone showed up under "Devices" and the wi-fi sync was successful.
Everything appeared to be working, so I turned off iTunes and allowed my computer to go to sleep.
After a period of time, I woke my computer from sleep and restarted iTunes to see if wi-fi synch still worked. NOPE, not at first. The "Sync Now" button immediately went from grey to black as before, but, my iPhone was no longer listed under "Devices" and my iPhone would not sync when the "Sync Now" button was pressed. However, after iTunes was open about a minute or so, my iPhone showed up and wi-fi sync worked again.
Sooooooooo......basically wi-fi sync appears to be a waste of time. I fail to see the functionality of it unless you never allow your computer to sleep and you keep iTunes running all the time. It just takes way too long for iTunes to finally find my phone after waking my computer from sleep and starting iTunes. It was much faster by hooking up the old way! All this just to perform a manual sync!
Auto syncing is a not even an option if you allow your computer to sleep and iTunes is off.
Is this how it is supposed to work? Anyone else? Am I wrong?

After iOS 6, does your phone occasionally search for signal?

Every since I installed iOS 6, every few hours, I have noticed that my phone will lose the 4G signal, the bars will go down to 1 and then "Searching" appears at the top and it looks for signal. It eventually goes back to its normal state of 5 bars, the AT&T logo, and 4G.
Has anyone else noticed this happening to them after the installation of iOS 6?

You will need to install an App like Print Central on the iPad to try to print to the printer. It will allow you to print to most printers. Check with their support folks if you need more info.

I am so sorry I am frustrating you. This is the first time I have used this community and am leanring as I go. I am not able to see the entire post that you leave, unless I look at it on my phone (email)--I am so sorry. You have no idea how much i appreciate your help. Yes, I see that I can get the later version of OS software, but its not availabe for immediate download. My only options appear to be having it shipped, or going to the store to purchase. Your first statement explains the second statement. To use the German iTunes Store, you need to prove that you're a resident of Germany (that is required by the content owners who will not allow cross-border sales) and the only way Apple can provide such a verification is by requiring that you enter in either a German credit card or a German-purchased iTunes prepaid card. Since I presume the former is not a possibility, you'll need to do the latter if you wish to purchase content from the iTunes Store. Again, this is not Apple's choice but is forced on them by the content owners as a requirement for Apple being allowed to sell the content. The EU is working on regulations that would force the content owners to allow access pan-EU, but that's still in the works.
You do not need an iTunes Store account to activate and run your iPad, though; at least, I didn't need one for either of my two iPads. If you only want to set up an account so you can get free iPad apps, take a look here:

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is apparently critical. This seems to come and go, or only apply to App Stores in specific countries, so you may not see the option for "None" when asked for a payment type.

I had a similar problem myself. This is what helped me.
I went to the App store app, scrolled to the bottom, logged out of the account, re logged in with my Apple ID. Then went back to app updates. Once I put in my ID password all was fine.

The password is set on the WiFi router providing the service, by the owner of the network to prevent unwanted "guests" accessing the network. The only way to know it is to ask the owner permission to use the network. Otherwise, you have to find a free WiFi hotspot that doesn't require a password.

Looking for something in the iPad/iPhone Airport App

I have been waiting for the airport utility for iPad/iPhone to come as I frequently travel with just my iPad and Airport Express. However, I have been unable to configure it when away from home.
So, Apple has released a utility but it appears to be the most important feature for being on the road, that is, the ability to switch connection sharing (so you can hook up to a hotel system).
Is it that I can't find it or it doesn't allow you to do it. In the iPad app, I am looking for the ability to switch between bridge mode and the other two.

Try my application Dates to iCal. it runs on the Mac, but you can sync the calendar to your iOS device.

thanks. yes i am aware of the VoiceOver feature but it is NOT the solution to my problem. as you said, it is a solution to a different set of issues. i want the text to speech ability because i there are books i need to read but do not have the time to sit down and read them and have become used to listening to them read to me either by a professional human reader or with the text to speech software on the Kindle.
I think Apple makes the best audio devices but i am really disappointed in this inexplainable shortcoming. if apple can give us siri they ought to be able to design a nice little button that i can push to turn on text to speech while i am in a document, book, magazine or webpage. clearly it is possible as apple has added the "reader" button in safari to have web pages dropped into the reader format.
thanks for your suggestion though, it is what everyone suggests but it does not address the issue.
