  • My IPOD is already synced to iTunes.  My friend just acquired an iPhone and he wants to purchase an app through my iTunes.  Can he use my iTunes to install the app to his iPhone without screwing up my IPOD information already on my iTunes?

My IPOD is already synced to iTunes.  My friend just acquired an iPhone and he wants to purchase an app through my iTunes.  Can he use my iTunes to install the app to his iPhone without screwing up my IPOD information already on my iTunes?  Also, how does he install ONLY that app on his iPhone without syncing my music also?  I haven't done this before with just an app.  Thanks.

Since you and your friend aren't married or in the same household (I assume you wouldn't have referred to this person as "my friend" otherwise), what you want to do is not permitted by the terms of use of the iTunes Store.
Your friend should create his own Apple ID. He can use your computer; just have him log into your computer with a user account you create just for him, not your own user account. Doing it that way is almost like having your friend use a different computer, since both Mac OS X and recent versions of Windows do a pretty good job of segregating the data of multiple user accounts.
He can then purchase the app using iTunes and sync it to his iPhone. When he's done, he should log out of your computer.
However, be aware that there is no reason to purchase an app using iTunes on a computer and to then sync it to the iPhone. Your friend can use the App Store app that's installed on the iPhone by default in order to download and install any app he likes from the iTunes App Store.

  • Brand new iphone six screws.

just got my iphone 6 64 gb a few days ago. Yesterday was looking at the details of my phone closely. I noticed one of screws(near charhing port) is a little above the surface and the other one seems a little too deep. I had once taken my phone for back cover lamination and i fear that the lamination guy might have done something withthe phone. The phone works completely perfect. Is it possible for the engineers in apple service centre to see if there was nothing interchanged by the lamination guy in my phone?

if u have warranty, then check it from apple store if the phone was opened or not?

  • How do I put non-iTunes store music onto my iPhone without screwing it up?

I backup to iCloud and haven't synced my iPhone since I've gotten a new computer. I have some music that is in my iTunes that i did not get from the iTunes store that I would like to put on my iPhone. When i try to make any changes at all, it says The iPhone is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? I think this is because of my computer switch, but that's all fine and good. I just don't wanna erase something irritrievable or screw up my iPhone in any way, I'm so confused and lost (and afraid to try anything rash, from past iPhone screw ups). Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you still have your old computer, copy the entire iTunes folder from your old computer to your new one using one of the methods outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527.  (Be sure to copy the entire folder, not just the media folder.)
If you don't, follow this guide: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive.  (If you're using iTunes 11, first go to View>Show Sidebar in order to follow this guide.  Also, Transfer Purchases in step 5 is now in File>Devices.)

  • I can't remove my iphone 4s screws at the bottom, regular 5 star screwdriver wont work. Are they stripped?

    the question says it all....

There is no such thing as a "regular 5 star screwdriver". A regular star screwdriver is most often considered a Torx screwdriver, this has a 6 point star. A Torx will not fit iPhone screws. The bottom screws on iPhone 4S are proprietory Apple Pentalobe Screws, sometimes called pentalobular or pentacle. They are easily removed, never stiff like they are with the iPhone 3G or 3GS, these come out with little force. But you have to use a Pentalobe Screwdriver. Not recommended, but straight edge tools that correctly fit across the screw head depression will work.

  • Help Me!!! IOS 5.1.1 update on Iphone 3gs screwed up my wifi

As you pointed out, turning on Compass in Location Services will only provide you the Longitude and Latitude on on the compass interface.
To enable the "True North" option you will have to turn on the "Compass Calibration". It is located in the "System Services" menu.
iOS5: Settings > Location Services > System Services
iOS6: Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services
Based on the test I just did (iPhone4 iOS6), both "Compass" and "Compass Calibration" have to be turned on for the "True North" option to be enabled in the Compass app.

  • No Birthdays on iPhone - MobileMe Screwed Up!!!

I need help with getting my birthdays on my iPhone. I have it enabled on my iCal and it shows on my MoblieMe account online - but NOTHING on my iphone! I discovered this after I missed my Mom's birthday Grrrrr....
I noticed that the "Birthday" calendar is listed on MoblieMe account as a subscription; and since I've signed up for MoblieMe all birthdays & anniversaries show up twice on my iCal (double).
    Please send help!!

    One thing that might help.
Here is an article from the apple support website that might help out.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1213
When you enable show birthdays in your ical preferences, it shows up under subscribed calendar section.
If you would like to leave feedback about this option, this link might help out.

  • IPhone 3G screwed up after last OS4 update

After updating my 3G to version 4.0.1 besides it continuing to be slow since version 4 it now shows some of my pictures as black. I can click on the picture and view it but in the Photo Library the pictures are black. What's up with that?

I have kind of the same problems here... after the 3.1 update my iphone started to fail in several aspects... the displays freezes up, does not respond at all. I cant turn it off or on, it wont respond even after trying to reset. Sometimes I have to wait up to 1 hour for it to come back. At times it wont receive calls, drop calls, wont get txt messages. I went to Claro (carrier en GT) and they couldnt provide me with a solution, however offered me a new iphone 3GS... yeah right, some solution.
This problem WAS NOT caused by me, I have not jailbreak my iphone and I have used itunes to perfom updates all the time... APPLE need to solve this problems ASAP with a new update version or a patch, something...
Does anybody managed to fix this kind of problems? what should I do?

  • Photo Sorting on iPad and iPhone all screwed up - HELP

I don't know when exactly this happened - but in one of the recent updates in the last two months of either iTunes, iPhoto, or iOS something was changed in the photo sorting algorithms. iPhoto does not seem to dictate the sort order any more?
I have a smart album in iphoto that is called "our best pics" and that automatically takes the top ranked pictures and sorts them by date. That used to be perfectly mirrored on the iPad and iPhones in our household. Since a few weeks, this does not work anymore. The order of the pictures in the album are now very random, but identical on all iOS devices. I tried deleting the pictures and re-syncing, but nothing changes. Anyone have any ideas?
    Many thanks Klaus

Spare yourself the pain. Use 3rd apps to sort you photos.

  • ITunes upgrade to iPhone OS screwed my iPhone

I plugged in my iPhone 3GS to iTunes and received the message that a new version of the OS was available. So, I sadly chose to install that update. After downloading extracting and then attempting to install i got a message "An unknown error occured". I have tried everything in all the post about turning off virus protection, turned off firewall, etc. Still won't restore and I have no iPhone at this point. What a joke!

I believe it was error (10).
After deleting the *.ipsw file from my computer (several times) and finally getting iTunes to recognize it as a new iPhone it installed the new firmware to 3.1.3. I then got lucky and had a backup and i got the restore to work. So, I only lost a few apps that weren't on my backup.
So... if you are stuck in recovery mode after attempting to upgrade OS, I would suggest that you keep deleting the ipsw file on your system and restarting iTunes and plugging in your iPhone. Like I said... it took several times before that finally worked for me.
Probably last time I accept any updates from Apple.

  • IPhone totally screwed up

Anyone else have this problem? While trying to install an app, my iPhone refused to install it and froze so I had to restart it. Now it runs ultra slow and freezes iTunes when I try to connect it to my Mac to do a restore. There's nothing I can do to fix it. Do I just need a new iPhone? I'm hesitant to just try to get this one fixed because it obviously has some serious issues.

I downloaded the latest UICatalog sample code, and NSLocalizedString DOES work there. So there is something about configuration issues involved here. My folder WAS named "English.lproj," which worked fine in Beta 5. I renamed it "en.lproj" and re-added it to the project, but that didn't solve the problem.
The problem exists both on the simulator and on the device.

  • IPhone 6 screwing up

Why does my IPhone 6 keep telling me that I have no space left and keep showing that I have no space left when I haven't hardly used any of my space and I can't download anything and its ******* me off?!?!

    Hi Josiah43,
I understand that it can be frustrating to not be able to download anything on your iPhone due to storage concerns. Here is an article that will tell you how to determine what is using storage on your iPhone and delete or manage that content:

  • IPhone synch screwed up outlook address book

    synched new iPhone with outlook.
    iPhone contacts correct.
    outlook contacts still correct.
but now outlook addressbook has changed, many edresses were deleted. and there is no way to input corrections.
the people at Microshit said it's for Apple to fix.
    anyone have experience with this?
also, is there a way to add mailboxes to iPhone? (to add to inbox/sent/trash)
    thanks in advance...
    bc

    Just J -
I am running Windows XP Pro/Outlook 2003. I have 3,163 contacts; however, I can not sync all my contacts with my iPhone (8GB)after the initial sync. That is, I can initially sync all 3,163 contacts to my iPhone (all of the contacts appear, etc.), but when I try to sync any time thereafter, my iPhone locks up and restarts.
Did you have any problems similiar to this when syncing 10,000+ contacts?
In general, do you have any suggestions or tips syncing a large number of contacts to an iPhone?
    Thanks,
    JRS

  • IPhone 4S heats up and quickly drains out battery after upgrading to iOS 8.1.2

Last Sunday i.e. on 14-Dec-2014 i upgraded my iPhone 4S (WiFI + 3G, 64GB) to iOS 8.1.2. Since then my iPhone's battery has started to drain out abnormally fast (it doesn't even last an hour after charging it fully to 100%) and the phone even heats up simultaneously. When checked under Settings> Usage> Battery Usage, i found the app-wise usage of battery like this: Phone (Audio) 36%, WhatsApp-24%, Home & Lock Scree-17%, Settings-7%, Messages-5%, Mail-4%, TOI-2%, Conatact-2%, and rest few apps 1% each. Prior to upgrading the iOS to 8.1.2, the battery life of my iPhone was normal: i just had to recharge once in 24 hours with normal usage of the phone. Could anybody help me to fix the problem? Thanks in advance. -BBS Ijam, GTK/SKM/171214

I think iPhone 4s is oLd now we need to update our as I will have to change my battery from repair center maybe this will solve the problem the new iOS are heavy for our phones.
*** I also have extra internal battery cover for my iPhone. I can't go out without that cover because my iPhone battery drain so fast from 100% it will be maybe 60 % so fast that is so annoying.
Long story short my iPhone is screwed up I think I don't trust my iPhone battery anymore.
