  • My iphone 4s stuck in searching mode

    Hi
I have iphone 4s ios 5.1.1 stuck in searching mode
i tried removing sim card still says searching , restarting , searching...
    can you help ? Please

Yesterday my phone shut off due to a low battery warning - like less than 10%.  So as I normally do, I plugged it in to be charged by using my car charger.  Anyway, I noticed that my phone was stuck in "Searching..." mode once it finally got enough charge to run.
We called AT&T and they tried to reset network settings - that didn't work.  They asked if we had another iPhone 4 on hand to test if my SIM card worked in that device (but no such luck).   I also did a manual reset and that did not work either.
I took my phone to the Genius bar today and they tested the SIM card and it was working fine.  Then, the guy ran some sort of diagnostic test to look at the logs and he said I had a lot of software corruption messages.
So, long story short, he ended up reinstalling the OS and that resolved the problem.
Now if only I could find my Photo Stream pictures and other data that I backed-up via iCloud....... I digress.
So far my phone works fine.  I could have done this myself but instead I wasted an hour of my time at the darn store.  30 minutes of it was spent WAITING even though my appointment was at 2 p.m. and I was on time - I wasn't seen until around 2:30 p.m. - actually it was almost like 2:40 p.m.

  • HT201205 iPhone 5 is stuck in searching mode. Will not recognize bluetooth device.

How do I get my iPhone 5 to recognize my Jabar bluetooth? It just gets stuck in searching mode.

Turn the phone off and take the SIM out and put it back in. The other possibility is that your SIM is defective.

    Hi Guys,
My iPhone is stuck in a mode where it thinks the headset is still plugged in.
I cant get any sounds through the speaker. Cant hear sms or emails arrive. If the phone rings i hear it but pple cant hear me or i cant hear them.
The phone works fine with the headphones plugged in.
I have tried all the usual solutions, inserted and removed the headset (at least 50 times)
    Soft reboot
    full restore
Nothing seems to work. I have searched on this and it seems to be a well know issue but there doesnt seem to be any firm solutions that i can find to fix the problem

If no change after inserting and removing the headset at least 50 times, powering the iPhone off and on, an iPhone reset, and restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup, the iPhone has a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

  • IPhone 5S stuck on Searching after poor or lost antenna signal

My 2 weeks old iPhone 5S , AFTER installing the "latest update" from Apple, start acting abnormal: it's geting stuck in Searching… mode after passing by a low signal area or after signal was complete lost.
Is this a hardware issue, should I return it to the store, or is an software issue and we have to wait for Apple Guys to fix it?
This is so bad as I use it primary for EMERGENCY calls, second for business and then for pleasure. Today being busy and not staying with my eyes on the phone , I was on Searching mode for the entire morning, for 5 hours. It's unacceptable to not be able to be reached  all this time.
APPLE, you should have this issue as TOP PRIORITY on your table as I'm sure a lot of customers have the same problem.

  • Iphone 4S stuck in "Searching..." numerous times

    Hello apple users,
I recently acquired an iPhone 4S, but ran into a problem I cannot seem to solve.
For an unknown reason the iPhone often displays "Searching..." and has no reception, nor 3G signal. this has happened 3 times now.
Restoring the iOS fixed this problem, the first time it took about 2 months, then 1 month and now only 5 days until it got stuck in "Searching..." again.
After digging around on the net I found out this is likely a problem with iOS6 and an iPhone 4S, numerous solutions were posted but only the "last resort" helped.
    I've tried:
    - Restarting the iPhone
    - Hard resetting
    - Airplane mode, as well as restarting with Airplane mode and hard resetting
    - Turning off cellular data
    - Removing the SIM and reseating it
    - Trying a different SIM
    - Restoring a backup made from when the iPhone was still working
    - Restoring the entire iOS and putting the most recent backup back
Putting the SIM in a different phone worked fine while my iPhone was stuck in "Searching..." on the same SIM.
The iPhone runs on iOS 6.0.1, was factory unlocked and has never been "tinkered" with.
Quite frankly, I don't feel like having to restore my iPhone on a weekly basis and would be really glad if any of you are able to help me out.
    Thanks in advance!

  • IPhone 3gs stuck in recovery mode, firmware iO 5

My iPhone is stuck in recovery mode. I have a 3gs, firmware 5.0.
Before I tried to restore it, my iPhone would randomly shut off, turn back on, and display a notification that said "Activation Required." Now, sometimes my phone would shut off again and return to it's previous working state. However, this time it did not. I put the phone into recovery mode and tried restoring it on my Acer Aspire 1 with Windows 7. iTunes put the phone through the various stages of restoration; Extracting Software, Preparing iPhone for Restore, Restoring Software, Verifying Restore, Restoring Firmware. After all of this, a nice little error message pops up that reads, "The iPhone 'iPhone' could not be restored. An unknown error has occured (1)."
After this little mishap occured four more times, I decided to click "More Information," and was promptly brought to the help page set up here. I proceeded to troubleshoot by updating to the latest version of iTunes, updating my security, restarting my computer, and so forth until all the necessary precautions were performed. Now it was back to iTunes to try my luck at getting my life back.
To my delight, I found that this time the restoration process took upwards of forty minutes to complete. However, to my despair, a nice little error message popped up that read, "The iPhone 'iPhone' could not be restored. An unknown error has occured (-1)." Ah, a different error message! i thought, feeling as if there was hope in fixing my phone. I clicked "More Information" and skimmed through the specific error messages, looking for that lucky -1. Nothing.
I need help. I have attempted to restore my phone a dozen times since this occurence, and I'm growing tired of going through the same process over and over and getting the same result. My phone is stuck in recovery mode now. I've tried restoring the phone on 2 different computers, to find out if, in fact, the problem was my iPhone and not my computer.
Some important information you may need to know in order to help me solve my problem:
    iPhone 3gs
    Running iOS 5.0
    Using iTunes 10.5
On an Acer Aspire One Netbook
    Running Windows 7
All security updates installed as of November 7, 2011
Also iTunes 10.5 on Acer Aspire 57354774 laptop
    Running Windows 7
Reply ASAP with a solution please!

    Hello,
I have an iPhone 3GS which I updated with the last firmware (iOS 5) 2 weeks ago. Everything goes ok.
And suddenly, while the phone was recharching. It asked me to activate it but I was unable to do it as it was rebooting constantly every time I connected it to iTunes.
I tried both 2 restore modes (Restore and DFU) but since I can't achieve a restore with the last Apple iOS 5 firmware. I got the error code 1.
I I tried on 3 different computers but same error. I really don't know what to do next...
I already called Apple Customer Care and I'm still waiting for an answer. I let you know.
And you, did you manage to get your iPhone back alive ?

Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. Also, discard the .ipsw file, open iTunes and attempt to download the update again. See the steps under Advanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw) below for file locations. If you do not want to remove the IPSW in the original user, try restoring in a new administrator user. If the issue remains, Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.

This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

My iphone 5 went into search mode and I can't place or receive calls or use the internet but my text messages work. Sprint had me do a master reset and my phone doesn't work at all now I can't get it past the activation. Will I have to pay for repairs in store because I didnt get the Apple care plan when I purchased it. Sprint said it may be a phone problem not sure if I should take it to Sprint or Apple...I just need my phone

I'm sorry to learn that you are not able to make/receive calls chelseabee! (ticket number removed) results indicate that there is no issues with the network or account provisioning. Since you have already done a hard reset http://vz.to/1gBkSJc (as per your post), I recommend exploring replacement options. If your phone is within the one year manufacturers' warranty we can provide a Certified Like New replacement http://vz.to/uyYF0o as long as no physical/liquid damage exist. If your phone has sustained physical/water damage and you have insurance, you can submit a claim to the insurance company online at this link http://bit.ly/07CrqPK

  • IPhone 3GS stuck in recovery mode while updating to iOS 6.1

Hello there, I was updating my iPhone 3GS(New Bootrom) from iOS6.0 to iOS 6.1. While it was updating, iTunes suddenly ends up saying error and now my iPhone is stuck in recovery mode loop. I've tried DFU mode on my iPhone and try to kick it out by using TinyUmbrella but the computer doesn't reconize it. And when it was on recovery, iTunes doesn't reconize too, a window pops up and says i have to install 'Apple Mobile Device'. I've re-install and install iTunes a couple of times and nothing is working. Switching on and off the iPhone doesn't work too. Please, someone help me with this problem! I really do not know what to do! Please reply this As Soon As Possible!

Ok. I have spent the last 8 hours researching this problem and have the absolute 110% answer to everyone's problem with this issue.
Error 13 and 14 : Are checksum problems with the firmware image that is in the update package.
The update package is a .ipsw (IPod or IPhone SoftWare). This file is actually just a .zip renamed .ipsw.
The error is caused by a failure to download a crc-free version of the file. Not really sure why there are so many crc problems with the iphone updates, but Apple does not check the integrity of the update package before wiping your current version of IPhone software and that is why all IPhones that start an update with a bad update package end up in recovery mode. These errors are NOT related to the iTunes installation, antivirus software, or firewalls.
Recommendation : use a program like "Object Fix" (Freeware) to verify the integrity of the file prior to commencing with any new updates. You will have to keep trying to download it until you get a error free file. Once you have a CRC error free file this problem will go away. (I thought TCP/IP helped get rid of CRC errors.)
I had another problem and that was...
Error 1603 and 1604 : These are USB driver connectivity problems.
Recommendation : FULLY uninstall and re-install itunes software as stated in the Apple support documentation. Be sure to reboot between each step and these problems should clear themselves up. In addition, firewalls and anti-virus software may cause these errors as well.
Finally, shame on apple for not properly documenting their software so that end users do not have to decrypt their error messages with no true support to solve the issues. These are problems that enough people have had that there should be specific documentation on these problems.

  • After attempting to update to ios 7, my iphone is stuck in recovery mode and will not connect to the itunes software server.

After attempting to update to ios 7, my iphone is stuck in recovery mode and will not connect to the itunes software server.  I have already tried the resetting with power swich and home button and plugging into computer but it says the "iPhone software update server cannot be contacted."  I am locked out of my phone.  Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this issue and get the phone working again.  I will add that I am now trying to restore it on a different computer with a lower version of itunes, but the computer that it initially happened on had the updated itunes and gave me the same result ... nothing.  Thanks for your help in advance.

Try going to recovery mode as described here.  You may have to try this more than once to succeed.
Use the original iTunes that the iPhone synced with.
