my iphone is switching off and on by itself. just after i've downloaded a new ISO software and i've installed it.

this is happening to my phone, i changed the battery, i tryed the logic board in another phone and it worked fine, there dosnt seem to be much else in there, still cant get it going.

If you are having issues with restarting and apps not launching you may want to try this to troubleshoot.
Since restarting has not helped, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -

I would be concerned too if my iPhone would not power on. I found an article with steps you can take when you encounter an issue like this. I recommend following the steps below:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.

I need some help please... my phine switched off and does not want to switch on.
I have charged it on my computer for at least an hour yet there has been no luck. It is only about 3 months old.

My Iphone 3GS turning off and on by itself...

Suddenly my Iphone 3GS turned off and after 3 minutes it turns on again, and so on.The battery is fully charged. I've tried to reset it but still won't work, I've switched it off and on again after sometime and still won't work. Any advice/help please.

I plugged my Iphone in( at60%) and then made a facetime call during the call I noticed my phone was still stuck on 60% after the call I unplugged the phone,plugged it back in nothing happend. So then I hard reset it and it said I had 97% then I decied to turn it off and back off and it went down to 92% now it keeps randomly shutting itself off and turning itself back on every 5-10 minutes. I tried restoring it but Itunes says it cant connect to the update server and to try again.What do I do?

You should try backing up the data, restoring the device as new and try if that solves the problem. NB: set up as NEW device, don't restore with backup, because a software issue will also be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, the device needs service.

I bought a Iphone 3gs from a friend and it has no service on it yet. Anyways it turns itself off and on several times through out the day would not haveing and service cause this issue? hey ive had this problem too!....i took it to the apple store and they said the 3gs is now "old" and i need a new one and it may be the battery, i changed the battery but that didnt make a difference!...ive found that its a problem with the software and im in the process of trying to fix it myself...troubleshooting and resetting the settings back to factory settings may just do the trick!

That doesn't tell us anything about what you did...
Try restoring using recovery mode:
1. Update iTunes to latest version.
2. Connect phone to a USB port on the computer, not an external port or hub.
3. Press both home and on/off buttons for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears, then continue pressing the home button alone until iTunes detects the phone in Recovery mode.
4. Follow the prompts to restore.
If the above doesn't work, there is a hardware problem that needs evaluation by Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your country.

My iPhone 4s switched off and won't turn back on

My iPhone 4s was working fine then all on sudden screen was black and can't turn it on. I have tried plugging into my computer and charger still nothing.
I know battery is charged and I have tried the hard restart.
Any other ideas????

I am also dealing with this. I got mine right out of the box, set it up, added all features, and then the screen went completely black. I plugged it in, tried all button combinations. Then I called Verizon Wireless and they couldn't help me get it back on. Ended up sending it back and my new 4S will be here on Tues or Wed. Really Apple? I hadn't even taken the plastic off! All I can say is call your service provider and ask for advice.

yes i did. i tried that like 50 times.. held it down eaach time for more then 20 seconds.

If the battery is dead, we must find out if it is:
1. Charger problem
2. Cable problem
3. Docking port problem
4. Wall socket problem
