My iphone isnt detected in itunes. I have completed all the troubleshooting steps. Itunes detects the iphone it just doesnt appear in the dropdown menu. any ideas? thanks :)

I am trying to restore my ipad from previous back up. itunes requests a password, it is none of the passwords I have used in the last decade any ideas to get around this?
The password would be either your iTunes ID password or your admin password for the Computer.

- I have iPhoto '11 and, in iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1;
- I started having this issue about 2 months ago, but I can't associate it with any changes or updates;
- with iTunes, the behaviour is absolutely normal...No, your iPhone and your iPad should not appear in the finder.
I'm not sure what you mean about downloading photos with iPhoto being double handling, but you can download direct to a folder with Image Capture. Image Capture can also be used to delete photos from the Camera Roll on the iPhone or iPad (preferrably after they are downloaded).
You can remove the photos you synced from your phone with iTunes by syncing again with an empty folder, That will delete all the photos that were previously synced that way, replacing them with the contents of the empty folder (that is, nothing). This will not effect photos takes with the camera on your iPhone. -

Help - have an iTunes account on iPad for well over a year. Just bought iPhone 5 and I cannot purchase apps using my account. I am asked to verify my credit card and details but then it rejects them. They are still fine on the iPad. Any ideas?
I tried to contact support but they do not recognise my Thai phone number.
the Thai support site is all in Thai (and I neither read or write it).
All I want is a single email address that works - it must be quite a simple process.
I don't want to create another account with another credit card - life will just get seriously complicated then.
BTW my apple I'd is accepted for downloading free apps!!!First of all, you should always save you photos on computer like any other digital camera.
Backup on iCloud or iTunes only backup your Camera Roll. The other photos should be already on the computer.
Note: Photos are not saved in iTunes, it's only a conduit between your iPhone and your photo managing software on computer.

I am need of help! I have had this issue for a while now and it's becoming frustrating.
My iTunes installed on my HP Windows 8 Netbook is unable to recognize my iPod, the error message along the lines of "iTunes has detected an iPod but unable to recognise"
I have followed all the trouble shooting tips and am still stuck? I am now being told by a friend I need a link sent to me to fix this??

When you say reset your settings do you mean to factory settings? As my iPod was swapped at the store for a new one and the problem is still there...

My iPhone 4 will not turn on. When I plug it into Itunes it says it is n recovery mode. I try to restore it and the error code code 3194. I have tried all the steps what now?
It is usually given as a communication error between Apple, iTunes (your computer), iPhone. Somewhere they are not communicating, so the iOS you are trying to install cannot be approved by Apple. Trouble shooting steps include, making sure you have Current iTunes installed, make sure your Hosts file of computer is not blocking Apple. Try restoring on another computer.

I have reset my iphone and made sure all updates have been done on my macbook pro and iphone. It was after updating my macpro that I plugged in my phone and went to itunes to backup phone and can't see the device anywhere! After updating my iTunes it no longer acknowledges that my iPod or iPhone is connected so I can't update my music.. I have followed all of these steps and everything is working fine but this new version of iTunes isn't recognizing my devices. Any advice?
I have the same problem. Running Win 8 64Bit, updated to latest ITunes and now will not recognize phone or pad. Followed all advice from Apple (uninstall/restart/re-install, all in exact order) ... nothing. Spoke with Apple tech and walked through the whole process, but no resolution. Tech was trying to be helpful but has no way of addressing issue.

Use iTunes to update it. Download the latest version and install it. Once it is plugged in, it will ask if you want to update your iPhone to iOS 7. If that does not work then click restore.

Connect phone to computer.
Select Restore.
Tell iTunes which of the available backup files to use, let iTunes restore it.
